It's been pouring down today and a lot of wind. I had such a cosy morning with coffee and a scented candle! Didn't feel so good to go out, but I had a lecture to attend, however it felt quite fresh and nice. Came home to a brownie I made yesterday (I'm taking some medicine that makes me eat like crazy but whatever), and it felt so cosy eating it with some tea and watching the weather after having been outside in the cold

I spectated/bag held/coat held for family members yesterday as they did a half marathon, so I had a lot of waiting and standing around to do. I wore my new coat that I bought for a whim on ebay, one of those Regatta versions of a 'dry robe coat', which runs oversized. I looked hilarious wearing it but it was fantastic at keeping me warm from 8am-12pm in 4-6 Degree weather. It's too comical to wear to work but it shall be my weekend walking coat. I felt so smug (and snug) and warm This time last week I was thinking of sending it back because I thought oh this won't work, but my impulsive thoughts won and teared off the tag and said jusssssst keeeeeeep itttt

I do tend to go for about a 2 hour walk most weekends so I suppose it will get used.

And here was me a couple of years ago mocking dryrobe wearers What made me search ebay recently was when I was on one of my walks I saw lots of dogwalkers looking very snug and warm in Regatta or dryrobe or other brand of the same type, whilst I was still feeling chilly in my jacket length fleece and waistcoat. Having something down to my knees is a game changer. That plus fleece lined leggings.

One thing I will say though is the Regatta version is a bit loud noise wise, but that might be because it is new and it is waterproof. But then again some of my other Berghaus/Trespass jackets are too.

Now I have reached mid 30s and with mild asthma I'd rather look like a snug gnome and cover my body with warmth than underdress and get ill.

TLDR: those long dryrobe style coats are actually quite fun to wear on cold days.

I think October is mine too simply because it feels like all the autumn vibes and activities are in full swing. I'll be honest that once November hits I'm full Christmas mode, hence why I try to really savour September and October. I do LOVE the start of September though when it feels like it's all on the horizon and just beginning.

Sabrina the Teenage Witch season 1 (the original series not the Netflix) was on offer on Amazon prime and it was one of my all time faves when I was a child so have bought that, hoping the rest of the seasons will be on offer!

Me and Mr CinnamonSwirl went away for a couple of days and we came across a B&M, they had loads of the viral mug so bought myself one of those and a lovely new Autumn wreath!!

Dear Tattle,

Finished my second book in about two months (more then I’ve read in the last two years )

I’ve read The Cinnamon bun book store which was ok but seems very similar to the other books I’ve read from the series and a bit graphic for me when I just want a cosy read Then just finished today Escape to Pumpkin Cottage which was lovely and so cosy, even had a few cliffhangers and twists in. I read it in about three days!

We’ve got a trip to Wales booked soon ahead of the arrival of our second puppy I bought another book called Poles Apart by the same author as Pumpkin cottage for the holiday as it was such a good read. Hoping for some nice crispy weather for some lovely walks while we’re there.

We’ll have a lovely walk tomorrow as we do at weekends and I’m hoping for some orange crunchy leaves and of course my 79th Pumpkin Spice Latte on the way home

What has everyone got planned for the weekend? Also any book and film recommendations would be great

i'm going to start the first of lucy jane wood's books tomorrow, influencer turned author but i've heard good things so will hopefully enjoy! going to set up my new candle warmer and do some crafting too

It's nowhere near Autumn weather here,still warm,and getting hotter over the next few days. A bit of rain and people are moaning,it's literally not rained for months now,we needed the rain,it rains all year round usually in the UK,it's not a suprise. The way people are acting it's like it's been torrential for weeks on end and freezing cold .It's funny we aren't allowed to moan about being to hot ,but as soon as there's a drop of rain and a grey sky it's the end of the world.

The nights are definitely drawing in, I love it.

It's one of my favourite things ever to shut the curtains at night. The sooner, the better. An effortless way to pretend the world out there isn't there!

I've been genuinely depressed bc I've had my windows open for more or less two months with only the occasional respite of a break here and there on the rare days it wasn't roasting/airless. It drives me round the bend having to let all the noise in and feeling like I've got no privacy even though you can't see through from the street.

How is it almost October?!
I was in the supermarket last night at about 6.30pm, came out after, and it was dark but strangely humid in the carpark. Felt a bit odd.

Bought a winter tog duvet as my summer duvet now too thin. Brushed cotton sheets. I don't want to leave my bed today but alas I have things I should do, but hopefully I can get back in it later to read with a nice cup of tea.

Hi Autumn peops. I’m going through a really rough time. My child has been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness and my husband might have it too (genetic). Plus work is awful and my boss has been vile. I’m signed off sick at the moment. Going to try and find the energy today to cheer myself up and put out my wreath and autumnal decorations.

I'm really sorry you're going through all this. I hope you can find some comfort amongst kindred spirits on our Autumn thread.

I have historically really struggled with dark mornings and it getting colder but in the last few years I’ve tried so hard to romanticise it more and embrace things about the season and that has helped me. Letting the seasons dictate my life a little and slowing down naturally into winter as it feels like that’s what nature intended. Obviously I do still have work (a corporate 9-5) but I try everything I can to embrace the season and the changes it brings to my lifestyle. If decorating my living space and buying into some of the trends is part of that and makes me happier, so be it

We're gonna be at least 28c tomorrow but probably more as I find the weather apps usually underestimate high temps.

I desperately want some rain but no sign of it for the foreseeable future.
