We did it! Made it to the Ber months.

It’s chilly outside right now and the cars are all fogged up. It’s like the weather knew it was the 1st today

I love that bonfire smell. Still searching for an amazing bonfire candle

Ikea did a set of three that smelt like bonfire smoke but they weren’t to my liking but they smelled exactly like a bonfire. This was a couple years ago but they might still do them!

I’ve been meaning to post for days, it’s been chilly here in the mornings and feeling so Autumnal, there are fallen orange leaves on the floor too.

I’ve got my autumn decor out, even though it’s hot I love it, it’s only the same as getting your Christmas decorations out a bit early (which I’ll also be doing) I’ve had a Cinnamon sugared pecan wax melt on all day and it smells so nice.

My food shop coming tomorrow has stuff for a big roast dinner I’m making on Thursday night with some nice red wine for me and Mr CinnamonSwirl to celebrate a four day weekend off work, yaaaaay. I’ve also got stuff to make homemade roasted tomato and red pepper soup and cheese toasties.

Next bedding change the Autumn bedding is going on, and on 1st my Autumn wreath is going on the door! Then Friday as it’s payday this week I am treating myself to my nails doing and a massage and you best believe I’m getting an Autumnal shade

I dunno if you can tell but I love Autumn. I know people struggle with the darkness but I absolutely love coming down before anyone else is awake and putting on my fairy lights and candle and having a cup of coffee and a read of my book before the day begins

I found some Body shop sugar pumpkin body scrub I still have so used that in the shower this morning and the smell was still insane and I walked back in the bathroom and it just smelt of autumn and all cosy and made me so happy

I’ve been reading loads more this year and really enjoying it and I love putting an autumn background on YouTube or rainy scene to make it (you guessed it) cosy

My husband even came in from work yesterday and said to the dogs, there’s an exceedingly crispy leaf outside in the garden, who wants it

I keep getting little waves of excitement about how cosy our house is going to be soon, I’ve put some money aside for some Autumn shopping

When I got in my car to go to work the other day, I actually had to put the wipers on to clear the condensation off the windscreen. Yay . Come on Autumn

I briefly went into TK MAXX yesterday for a quick nosey around. I see they had Halloween bits stocked up. I took a fee photos, so for anyone interested in popping into their local store, this is the sort of stuff they are selling at the moment.

I agree, this thread is really nice! It's so carefree and lighthearted. I've been struggling with depression lately (well, for quite some time, but it's been worse lately), and this thread is a nice, little escape. It really is warming to read about what you do and how you are making the days cosy❤

Thank you for your well-wishing posts. Trying to make the best of the cosy season to try and comfort my son. We’ve got twinkly lights going and we made chocolate mint biscuits at the weekend which were delish. In a bid to cheer him up we’ve asked the neighbours if we can walk their dog a few times a week and they said yes so I’m looking forward to dog walks in crunchy leaves!

I need some nice autumnal films / shows to add to my list! TK Maxx had so many autumn and Halloween decorations the other day. Found a block of spiced apple wax melts in a drawer so am burning those to manifest cooler days

It’s very cloudy and dark here this morning

Thank god it’s a bit cooler in the UK, I would love it to stay low 20s so we could enjoy another month or so of summer without sweating off my proverbials

Have walked the dogs this morning while it’s still been cool and now going to get cosy for half an hour and read I love putting a live background on YouTube like a rainy cabin or log fire while I read and it’s so relaxing.

I was going to save all my Autumn watches until September but I do this with Christmas films and never get to watch everything so I’m starting early. On my list to watch:

Practical Magic (never seen this before!),
Rewatch Virgin River and watch the newest series for the first time,
Hocus Pocus 1&2
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
Then I might give American Horror Story another watch nearer Halloween (only got to Season 3)

Got the gym soon and then taking my puppy for his jabs () so we’re getting a Starbucks after as a treat.

Happy Friday!! How have we done 3 days of October already, time is flying

We’re going to view a litter of puppies tomorrow, we have a dog now and they’re his siblings from a second litter and we can’t wait

Then because we’re apparently OAPS, we’re very excited to go to the big Sainsbury’s and have a look round, especially the home section and get something nice for dinner for when we get home.

Then to top a lovely day off we’re gonna get a Starbucks on the way home and pick our dog up from his play date and chill for the afternoon Mr CinnamonSwirl is cooking tomorrow too, woohooooo.

Has anyone got any nice Autumnal plans for the rest of the month? We’ve got a pup-kin patch booked for our dog

I can’t believe we’re nearly at the end of October, I love this month and it’s flown by! Currently sat on the sofa working on my laptop with The Nightmare Before Christmas on in the background and a Devon Wick cinnamon sugared pecans wax melt burning.

The weather is absolutely gorgeous and perfect today, a blue sky with no clouds in sight, very cold but so nice We’re going on a lovely walk with the dog when I’ve finished work, then I went to M&S the other day for some picky bits to have tonight as I didn’t want to wait until Halloween to do our little picky bits dinner so I may have to do it twice

Speaking of M&S, they’ve got loads of Christmas stuff out (not actually much Halloween stuff in mine which was a bit sad) but they’re doing a Rosé mulled wine this year and it’s DELICIOUS. We’re going back today for more because something happened to the first bottle I have to limit myself to only occasional visits to M&S because my bank account unfortunately cannot tolerate it

Which one of the autumn months do you guys prefer? It seems that the general consensus is that October is the favourite in general across the Internet and offline, too.

There is something special about October. Most of the time it's when it really starts to cool down and the colours are beautiful, the nights are dark.

I love Halloween but not as a commercialised day. I like it for the history and spooky vibes.

Really looking forward to going for a walk in the rain today Love how it makes the pavements and parks quieter.

Also they’ve been showing Sabrina The Teenage Witch on Comedy Central in the evenings, been so nostalgic watching it, and it’s still pretty funny as an adult!

It doesn’t feel like autumn yet to me, still too hot and humid (at least down south)

Hoping the temperature drops below 20 and the leaves start changing colour soon. Can’t wait for cooler days and cosy nights (especially after this summer!)
