I believe I pointed out that, yes, she IS being exploited for profit, which is evil no matter how you say it. However, what I was commenting on is that some of you are always calling for her removal from the home for neglect. She’s not neglected. She is fed, clothed, kept clean and never left alone. As far as her being ignored, I don’t think she minds that at all. If she’s not out eating chicken strips somewhere (or eating in general), or shopping for vile cd’s, she’s in her room flipping cards, looking at coloring books or sorting cd’s. Whatever her dx is, her level of awareness and dysfunction are such that I think she’s perfectly happy in her room. Just my opinion.
The biggest issue I have is the big picture of medical and therapeutic neglect. This act is very much detrimental to her well being and is just as bad as if they didn’t keep her clean didn’t watch her 24/7.
---

Jessica has no idea how many people are watching her do her daily things. She has no concept of amounts beyond 25. She isn’t exposed to crowds except at Disney. She doesn’t get the concept of the internet. She thinks it’s just some people she talks to. She can see cards and the cds but that’s it. Val is using her for purely monetary interests. I think she truly loves Jessica but the pull of making money and taking trips to Disney is the main focus these last years. She has been doing this for so long, it would be interesting to see what their household would be like without making videos. What would their lives truly be like. Probably as boring as yours and mine. I have nothing interesting going on 80% of the time. Val, maybe it’s time to completely take a break from filming and truly focus on your family, you have enough problems without putting it out for the whole world to see. Your son, your hypochondriac daughter, your challenged daughter and the fact that you don’t even own your own house. Your parents are getting older and they are going to need your help more than you know. But you don’t see all this, you just see $$$$ and one day this is all going to come down on your head, hard and fast.
And the fact that they put their needs and wants ahead of her by not getting her the mental and therapeutic care to help her thrive and be healthier is just because they can’t get out of their own way. Val can’t handle the fact that she would be held accountable to someone besides herself. She doesn’t let anyone tell her what to do or how to do it. She is mentally stunted and immature because she is unteachable. Because of that fact Jessica pays for it. They could have a great platform showing people who have disabled loved ones like Jessica how to properly care for them so they can have a growing and thriving life.

Thanks for all the insightful comments. The thing that bothers me the most is what is left unsaid, hidden, or plain lied about by Val. This takes away all the gravitas she may have with her knowledge of autism. It makes me wonder if the portrayal of Jess is truth or just makes Val look good to her followers. No, they don’t have to show the horrible meltdown scenes but it seems like everything is sunshine and roses at their house. In reading past blogs, Jess was truly a burden to Val fulfilling her career and life. Every social situation has to be evaluated to see if Jess could handle it. I’m sure she wanted another male relationship but we know that you can’t have three in a bed ( oh, wait, I forgot about Porn Boy). Anyway, I have a hard time believing so much of what is shown because Val is not truthful. The only time we see the true family is during the LIVES and there have been some crazy ones- but of course, they are removed because they don’t fit the narrative.

(The most blatant lie to me is that Porn Boy and his wife don’t want to be on social media. This can be dispelled with one quick Google search.)

Understand though, that if Jessica was consistently getting the therapies she needs over the years the meltdowns would not be as bad as they are. In fact they may have stopped altogether by now.

A person like Val...who herself has mental illness that she refuses to address really is unable to love others including her children . There's providing the basics ....food, clothing, shelter ..safe surroundings...then there's loving...someone ...providing above and beyond just the basics.

In Jess's case... Val and her mother are more concerned about Jessica's mental illness and IDD effect them and make their family !ook. The blatant denial in Jessica's primary illness and brain deformity which is the true cause of her mental state is neglect ...the fact they refuse to accept IDD and schizophrenia has her primary illness...is neglect..accompanied by the fact this doesn't permit Jessica to be properly medicated.

If Jessica wasn't the meal ticket Val would have to work and Hannah would have to work.

Val is clearly a narcissist and with that comes complete explanations to why she is the way she is. The entire family is filled with lies, deceit , scam artist, lazy hypochondriacs hoping to get on disability.

This is far from a loving home.

Jessica s quality of life should revolve around much more than 900 decks of waterproof cards she can sniff, piles of colouring books and her severe food obsession.
That's not a life.

She should be OUT in her community working or attending an adult program interacting with peers, under proper medical supervision with regular check ups, she should have REAL PROFESSIONAL advocates working with her...not Hannah and Marlow...who are simply lazy, unprofessional and NOT qualified to be care providers with Jess's ailments ...they are glorified babysitters ...and Val is abusing the government system to pay these lazy girls to babysit Jess, walk the dogs, take Jess to eat out, and make videos....NONE of that is what government funding is meant for.

Scammers...the entire Brooks clan.

On this, I completely agree. Once again, I’ll quote what Val herself has said, “I sometimes don’t know where I end and Jessica begins”. For whatever reason she suffers crushing guilt about her daughter’s condition. It would be foolish to speculate why she feels guilty, but it has caused her to completely shove this child under her wing to try and keep her from any and all unhappiness, even to the point of completely paralyzing the rest of the family from having any kind of normal interaction. Jess is Val’s sole focus, and it appears obvious that the rest of the group had better tow the line. Again, just my opinion from what is shown in small snippets of their lives.

I think Madison looks dead behind his eyes. How the hell could Val have put him and Hannah second to Jessica, instead of loving the 3 of them equally. No mother picks one child over her other children. Its incredibly sad.and incredibly disturbing that she still does it.

Without Jessica having the disabilities she has,Val and Hannah would need to have jobs. Unless they both said they were sick and received benefits. So no,I dnt think Jessica is well loved at all. Shes used to make them their salary. No matter how many times she said Jessica agrees and likes making videos, its extremely obvious Jessica has no idea what she is doing. She cannot give consent to something she doesnt comprehend. So that's called exploitation.
100% - them saying she agrees and them saying she’s an adult does not make it true.

Jessica is a totally different person when it’s just her and Campbell or Marlow. She isn’t watching every word she says or her reactions. Yes, she is still showing signs of schizophrenia but she seems happier to me. Val scares the crap out of her and Jessica scares everyone else. But I think the fear of Val comes to light when every once in a while Jessica will say “are you still mad mommy?” Or I’m sorry mommy. Val is the one who needs the most help in that family. I wish she would go to therapy and actually listen and learn. Instead, she will deny any help and everything has to be her way. Because she knows it all.

Of course something isn’t right with him. He wouldn’t be doing what he is doing if he was right in the head.

This morning video was boring. Jess didn’t like her grits so Val made her eggs. Poor thing. Val saying in the description that Jessica likes to do errands because she likes to get out and has community goals. What are community goals, seeing how many people she can give the third degree? And she feels like she is doing a service to others. What? What service? Service would be helping someone other than herself or family. She was also going to make a phone call to Donna. Poor Donna, why would they allow her to be calling anyone so early in the morning. Phones calls before 9 are rude, especially when it’s not important, and all she does is say the same things over and over again.

Val is grasping for anything to keep interest - maybe something she found on another site, cause they have NOTHING to do with community or service, Val is selfish and won’t put any effort in for anyone.

The Brooks family seems to like to build themselves up and sound so important! Jessica does not do anything on these outings but give people grief with all her questions as you say! She is like a child and children should be seen and not heard in some instances. And asking the 20 questions is a good example of that!
And who believes she had ham in her grits she didn't like? Even Hannah sounded surprised on that one!!
