I kind of winced when she was asking her viewers to help her buy a new couch for her new house while many of us are struggling to keep a roof over our heads during a pandemic. I'm happy her dreams are coming true but girl please don't hit us up for money.

Sorry to go back to Minx Laura123 again, but I get quite frustrated with her attention seeking titles and posts. This one was 'you probably WON'T WATCH this ASMR VIDEO. but I MADE IT ANYWAY!' (this was exactly how she wrote it) to me comes across as quite passive aggressive,I think most people watch ASMR to relax not deal with the creators passive aggressive issues towards people who allegedly post nasty comments(dispite no one ever seeing them and her ignoring people telling her to turn off comments). The only reason I still watch Laura is because I do find her ASMR content very relaxing, she mostly comes across as a sweet person, but occasionally she posts on various social media platforms about people posting nasty comments (no one has seen this, it's only what she says) or even accusing her own dad of bullying and upsetting her. I've mentioned this before, I get the feeling she wants constant adoration and praise, she feels if people don't constantly tell her how wonderful she is, she sees it as they 'hate her'. For a woman in her mid 40s she's very child like and appears to have MANY issues, possibly stemming from being bullied as a child, her whole life appears to have revolved around constantly being with her mum and dad who are divorced and grandparents as a child, never any mention of real life friends, just people online. Don't get me wrong I know online friendships can be strong, but she doesn't even talk about childhood friends, it always revolved around grand parents and parents. Even now she and her fiancee live with her mum, her dad is still actively involved in her life dispite her frequently accusing him of upsetting her. She tends to overshare on some family business, discussing her parents separation and divorce as her dad ran off with her mums best friend. In the past she posted videos of really uncomfortable get togethers with her, Nathan, mum, dad and his girlfriend.
I suppose my issue is, she has her ASMR channel and her vlogging channel,I wish she'd keep the drama for the vlogging channel and keep the ASMR just for that content. We all have enough of our own dramas to deal with, without logging into relax with ASMR, only to find passive aggressive and attention seeking content

Yes I saw that. I agree, she's quite confusing, one minute she's saying she's being 'bullied', the next she's posing I'm her underwear. She is very pretty and clearly confident because shes able to create content and post to thousands of strangers. She needs to stop seeking validation from strangers, she's in her mid 40s has a loving fiancée and is very talented but it doesn't seem to be enough, I genuinely think she likes attention, playing a victim has obviously earnt her lots of attention over the years, but maybe now she's trying a different method.

I hope this method is more successful for her. It seems a lot more positive.

She's a real sweetheart and the only content creator I've ever considered supporting on Patreon just because she puts out such consistently good and enjoyable content.

This was a while ago but I saw this and wanted to add that someone else with a very nice whisper is ASMR Jas. She’s got some similarity to Madi’s style and her inaudible is so nice and clicky. I like Rach too which is why I wanted to reply.

I always had qualms with Julia about her stance on sustainability. I understand that there's no way to be completely zero waste and live completely ethically and no one is under any obligation to go vegan/plant based, but I feel like she's so touchy when it comes to her diet. She seems especially snarky towards when she's called out on the discrepancies between her supposed values and her diet. Maybe I'm just triggered but it always rubbed me the wrong way that she preaches about buying cruelty-free and sustainable options when her diet still contains meat, eggs and dairy (including her $30 yogurt or kefir or whatever it was). Again, it's a very personal decision but she lives in LA where eating plant based is easily accessible and she has the means to do so. I also wish she would stop claiming to be vegetarian when she eats fish regularly. Julia if you're reading this, fish don't grow on trees.

i suspect she stopped doing asmr when the attention went from her (personally) to her asmr (her creation) - she gives me major narc vibes and her channel before ASMR was v self indulgent, she hadn't deleted these and was also vvvv messy on insta (she blocked me so idk what she's like on there now) which was so at odds with the calming person she was in her asmr vids. therefore i reckon the asmr itself got "too big" for her and she couldn't do it any more as the focus wasn't on her and who she actually is (messy, needy, buy buy buy)

I have a feeling that she couldn't pull random stars into it anymore and therefore decided not to bother.

Sorry to bring it back to BBBY vs Starling but I just found it interesting that BBBY claims to have blocked her everywhere and that she never copies and then makes a video of Starlings current most popular triggers. For context Starling does a lot of "dark asmr" and "orbital" triggers and BBBYs video here is very inspired. Even used some of starlings hand gestures. In the end no one asmrtist owns any trigger or video idea but it's just really interesting how she hasn't learned to stay away from being inspired by Starling after all their drama

I used to love ASMR Massage. She had some of the best videos out there but hasn't posted in years, unfortunately. I still rewatch some, especially one where she does "makeup" on a lady lying down on a couch. It's a really soft video, not much happens, you don't even see the make-up in the end, but it looks like it must have been heaven on earth to be the lady on the couch, hahah.

I cannot believe she has a story talking about the vaccine, as she says she has no medical background, what is the point of her weighing in?

She obviously thinks her overpriced herbal remedies can cure/prevent everything. As someone with nearly 30 yrs experience as a health care professional, I see people like her as dangerous. She has a big audience and little to no knowledge. She's very rigid in her ideas and really doesn't acknowledge that everyone is different and what is appropriate for one person may not be right for someone else.

In general, I don't really like sponsorships on ASMR videos. I usually find them clunky and out of place, especially when there's like a 5 minute monologue about Audible or something. Is anyone influenced to buy something while they're trying to sleep/relax and being interrupted?

She's also still got a patreon which charges people for quite literally nothing. Fair enough it's their perogative to cancel the payment but it seems really off to me when she's not done anything for literally years
