Its very telling Saf has done an appreciation post for her brother saying he is her rock. I think its lovely, and their relationship is heart warming to see.
On that live this afternoon someone said “Ashley is lucky to have you” and Saf said “ahhh thank you. Sometimes men need to be told that.”
She also said she really wanted to take part in the cycling even just for 20 miles but she said the issue is that “the guys take off so quickly and I can’t keep up.” She then repeated herself and looked really sad and said “I just don’t think they have the patience for me.” I was torn between feeling so sorry for her and being pissed off because she hinted about wanting a massage about 8 times, in the bits I caught, but that last bit, made me let her off the begging. I’ll bleeping go and give her a massage after that.

What a disgrace Ashley is. They should be crossing the finishing line together, even if saf only rode the bike for 10 minutes at the end
I don't have the patience to watch the lives but honestly, I feel like that is Ash in her head telling her there's no point her doing it because she won't be able to keep up. Maybe he has said it like, randomly and then it just stuck. Bless her. She was riding 25 mile bike rides by herself, and if she does the last bit, does it matter how long it takes? They set off so late in the day anyway & they get crowds regardless.
It's probably why Saff doesnt really have any friends, cuz if Saff was my mate I'd really struggle to not tell Ash about himself after all this!

I couldn’t ride for 10 miles to be perfectly honest so I think the effort she has put in (whilst grieving her baby!!!) to be able to do 25 miles is amazing and should be applauded. It would not take anything away from Ashley’s HUGE achievement to let her join in the last bit, just to cross the finishing line with him…as a couple….both as Azaylia’s parents.
It’s the first live of hers I’ve watched and even then I came in and out, but I’m glad I witnessed her say those two things.
She also said “you’ll all be there when we get married…” in response to loads of inappropriate comments asking when Ashley is getting down on one knee. Weird. Especially as I think people will take that seriously!

I caught that bit about getting married but I’m nearly sure she said “IF we get married” because i was thinking surely your long term partner youd be saying “when” we get married.
Looking back at Saffs posts it’s reminded me how I really thought she was the stronger one whilst A was starting to fade. She showed so much strength and IMOP she was holding Ashley up whilst trying to be as positive as she could. She’s evidently really struggling now and I hope Ashley gives her the support she needs
Ash will crash mentally when this bike ride is over, I feel like it’s the only thing that has kept him going.
I can't believe neither of them have shared the story about that little girl needing a donor. Especially when she has less of a chance of finding one because of her heritage just like Azaylia.

Since reading this thread I have reflected a lot about my babies funeral and of myself and now ex partner supported eachother. I only remember two times we touched eachother at the funeral when we first seated my ex partners legs was uncontrollably shaking soI put my hand on his thigh to give a little support he then held both my hands in his. & again when we was leaving the chapel he held me and guided me through as I felt very hazed
I feel as though we grieved completely separate. Grief defiantly made us drift apart we have had zero contact for 9 years now
