FYI I’ve created threads for a YouTuber before and there is a character limit. Something to keep in mind and they also like a certain format that’s basically: Name of influencer/YouTuber #: xyz. They’ll change it automatically without informing you if the format is wrong and you won’t be able to edit that afterwards.

Luckily I have a very generic English last name (mom was the Danish one) so they mostly gave me a pass - I remember Danish being terribly difficult to learn as a kid even when my mom spoke it to me...it's a horribly guttural language to a native English speaker. I can vaguely read simple sentences in all three languages (as everyone there can probably). My partner claims he can sort of speak/understand all three languages LOL but I think it's mostly Swedish/Norwegian. We communicate in English.

Here Mandarin Chinese and Spanish are very, very trendy and all the kids are learning it in school regardless of their parents’ background. Spanish doesn’t seem too bad but Chinese looks like a nightmare.
I don’t know if this is true but my extended family used to joke that Danish babies learn to speak significantly slower than most other children because the language is so messed up and difficult.

I gave up on the characters So out of curiosity I checked my inbox on FB as I have AB in my friends. Apparently, we did exchange some messages but she wiped them clean. Scrolling through the conversation and seeing my words it seems like nothing more than a harmless casual chit chat, in fact, I even forgot I ever texted with her! But just goes to show that everything's being deleted online which is really weird. I don't dislike her but I don't buy the credibility and now since she is so internet-famous that my younger friends come up to me and mention the course, I want to make sure they are informed before making their own decision.

I took French growing up because it’s the other official language here and can read newspapers and such, but I can barely speak or write it anymore after years of not using it. The grammar is way too complex vs English. But to be honest most Canadians speak one language so knowing anything else is a bonus.
