I don’t know much about her, is her dad really wealthy? I’d always assumed she had some sort of sugar daddy footing the bill for everything!
I think he's some sort of banker, she was wearing £3k Chanel bags through university.

I’m pretty sure I read before that he is a trader at Credit Suisse, they are absolutely not middle class 😂

It does explain a lot about how she feels all her posts are really relatable, if she does genuinely think she’s middle class!

I would love to know more about her finances! Pretty sure she’s only back to work part time? In that house she bought all alone, her eating out budget per month is probably more than my rent!

She is middle-class, potentially considered ‘upper middle class’, due to her familial income if her dad is a credit suisse trader. But firmly middle class - the spectrum of which has expanded massively over past decades.

Class divisions in the UK aren’t defined by wealth at all - it’s on social mobility, your peers, and how you’re perceived externally. You can live an incredibly wealthy life and be working class - likewise you can be a member of the aristocracy and not have a pot to piss in.

‘Upper class’ is still based on traditional peerages / land ownership / connections / relations etc, often going back generations. It’s why it’s so ducked - there’s literally no way to enter these small circles unless you’re born into it, and the advantages and connections available here are never going to be accessible to others through hard work alone. Maybe that is what her family grew up with, but it’s unlikely.

Sorry to sound like a sociology essay! But if we start defining class by wealth alone, we overlook so many nuances which make up how someone’s class is perceived and the privileges they may or may not benefit from.

This was highly insightful, thank you! I wonder would her family be more "Nouveau Riche" with the flashing of cash etc

Oh look Amelia’s on holiday without Asda again. But her life as a single mum is sooo haaaard you guys.

She’s allowed to holiday without her daughter. She clearly does the majority of parenting.

I think she can holiday without her daughter and good for her for maintaining a sense of identity away from being Aster’s mum but it’s a bit sad she hasn’t done any with her daughter - totally understand a holiday abroad as a single parent is hard work but there’s lots of UK destinations she could take Aster.

this is why I’m convinced the Dubai holiday was a sugar daddy and not her dad or other undisclosed family member who wanted to maintain their privacy. Who invites someone on a FAMILY holiday but says leave your baby daughter at home

This made me lol - I don’t know why she’s cosplaying as a financially struggling single mum who needs to think about money - she gets groceries imported from the states, goes on several holidays a year, eats out pretty much every week..she’s doing just fine. Clearly doesn’t only need ‘one’ silly splurge per month..

And it’s not like she lacks family members to come along and do the childcare for her, or with that many holidays abroad maybe her dad she could afford to take a nanny along! Sorry but let’s not pretend it’s normal to a) have that many lavish holidays while cosplaying as poor single mum or b) not to take your child on any of them, literally even once

She has a similar skin tone and colouring to me and I am not a baby pink / beige girly at all. Jewel tones and bright colour with some depth suit me best. Don't know why she doesn't try it, she'd look great in a red or a royal blue. I find her commitment to those washed-out tones also make her look quite dated.
