She has been focusing on social climbing recently (trying to become besties with Chris Jackson and his wife) so maybe she's realised that won't happen if she keeps being cringe about Kate and stalking her. She needs a more subtle strategy now. Luckily it will never happen.

Why would anyone buy that dress?!

In terms of the disposable income argument... lots of people earn a lot but have a big mortgage or a lot of expenses. LA must have spent a fortune on having that house built and starting up her business, yet she is spending like she just won the lottery. Surely the chicken shop ownership can't have been that lucrative?! At the moment I can't explain how they are able to afford all of this.
So true. My bil is a banker and well to do. However very little disposable income.Huge house in desirable part of the country, so big mortgage and house maintenance. Three children all in private education, those fees are just crazy not to mention all the lessons they are having from tennis, ballet, piano and so on. They dress well and drive decent cars. They do go on holidays but nothing extravagant, I think I have gone on more expensive holidays.
I think it’s so easy to assume about people and like someone mentioned before some people are happy to get into debt to keep up appearances. I have no idea what’s the deal with LA and where her money is coming from but having so many holidays definitely Isn’t a norm.

Isn’t it sad that she can’t keep anything private. All this excess and over the top dressing/ showing off is a total turn off. You aren’t making anyone jealous Laura Ad - you are becoming a laughing stock. This whole trip is a whirlwind of excess and bragging. She really does come across as a vain self centered idiot.

I’ve never actually posted on here before but I just wanted to say, thank you for a bit of grown up perspective. I’m a similar age to Laura Anne. I sometimes look and think why can’t I afford to build a massive farmhouse immaculately done out or constantly kit my boys out in the latest fashions. Why has my only holiday been to wales this year and not Mauritius or Venice? I sometimes think I’m doing something wrong and compare myself to these instagrammers. And then I came on here this morning and was a massive relief. Like oh yeah. This isn’t the norm. For a lot of people. I do ok and my kids are happy and healthy and I have more than a lot and less than a lot and I should just be grateful for what I have. I think this social media lark is pretty toxic at times and it’s just nice to get some perspective from you all!!
Thanks for posting this. It's exactly why social media is such a disaster for people's mental health. Normal lives are seen as 'not good enough' and everything has to be luxury homes, perfect decor, holidays, new clothes, beauty treatments, etc etc. Before social media, normal people weren't expected to have those things. But now people like LA exists on Instagram to sell me an unattainable lifestyle. It's not 'Ooh Linda next door got a new car' it's 'Everything in your life is nowhere near as upmarket as it should be'. Honestly, the quicker the concept of Influencers dies, the better off humanity will be.

Why are HMRC not going after these greedy people?
Because they aren’t doing anything illegal.

She is a content creator, it’s obviously very lucrative so the more she goes on holiday and wears ‘out there’ dresses the more views and money she gets. It’s a business at the end of the day.

Hi - I am another person that has followed this thread but never posted and I'm flabbergasted by the Venice trip - it looks like she has sought every instagram bucket list moment for the trip just to compete with the insta travel young influencers, which contradicts the family holiday vibe. Floating round in long designer dresses & gondola outfits for the boys - its just a marketing reel for brands. I do think its all going to come crashing down with some of these 'luxury' influencers as the cost of living crisis has become very real and it doesn't matter how many affiliated links they share & discount codes people will be pulling in all reserves. Lauren (Hunters & Heels) is the same - rented accomodation and frivolous spending - their time on insta has a shelf life - there was a market for the escapism post pandemic but these people are not reading the room and the smugness is insulting.
So for those that feel a little deflated when they see this, please remember - their lives aren't real, they aren't happy if they are creating that level of content to 'escape', they are unlikely to have any personal pension, they are likely to have significant debt, at some point their employability from brands will diminish and their bubbles will burst. Consumers are now choosing who they spend their money with and are being switched off from the influencing lifestyle. I work in retail and have worked for some of the premium department store brands in the world and know how an influencer can make / break a campaign. They are living in the now, but their style and frivolous lifestyle isn't the future - they are the QVC of the 90's right now but lets see how they get through the next 6 months - those big range cookers and large deluxe freezers and hot tubs are all going to use a lot of electricity, don't think it will be all glamour. LA's little buds will be a luxury item that customers will be shelving to pay the fuel bill - watch this space for lots of giveaway's & promotions as I imagine she will be sitting on a lot of stock.
apologies for the rant - just needed to share :)

It’s such a pity that this discussion has to happen on tattle , everyone will be telling LA how wonderful her trip looked etc etc on the comments. There is an element of entertainment about influencers but because they then come on and chat to us as if they were our friends, we get caught up in it all. We start to think maybe I can go on another holiday or buy a new kitchen, splash out on a fancy dress or spend 500 at the garden centre. No matter how savvy we are , we get sucked in a little bit .

I agree tcaketess, I think people like LA will get a lot of criticism in the coming months if she continues to be frivilous with spending while the country is experiencing a cost of living crisis and potentially a recession. In terms of the comments on her IG posts... I've heard people say before that she blocks anyone who says anything other than super nice things, so my guess would be that anyone who criticises her will have their comment deleted.

This is definitely true, because they aren’t on the gram to debate or have deep discussions…those things harsh their influencer buzz. They are here to get paid moving product!

Oh this is all so true.

The reality is that the kinds of people who buy this stuff (designer clothes, bags, kitchens, travel etc) will probably continue spending while the rest of us watch the pennies.

However, those brands will be looking to find more direct and niche communication platforms, because insta is too much of a blunt instrument. They can’t refine their audience as closely as they need, so risk a real conflict with authenticity and relatability.

As a business owner, LA will sit right in the midst of that too. The squeezed middle classes are finding their disposable income just won’t stretch like it used to. Will they buy more plastic flowers? Maybe. Arguably it’s better value than real flowers. But, it will impact repeat custom, new custom, and she would be very hard pressed to increase the price to reflect increasing costs of production, storage and distribution. Quite a tough spot to be in.

And those toys the boys were playing with in St. Mark’s Square we’re probably annoying AF to everyone else trying to enjoy their time there.

Wait, did they not take the youngest with them?! I'm even more shocked at that, like one parent taking one child I could maybe understand as one on one quality time but both parents taking two of three kids seems odd, even if he is young!

Oh it’s not her first rodeo for this. I mean in some ways I can understand - keeping them other two safe on a gondola or water taxi would have been stressful enough without adding a toddler in the mix

I do not blame her one bit for not taking Barney. His being there would have ruined the trip for everyone … and not just the Barrs! The older boys will remember it, and I’m sure he’s perfectly fine at home with Pretty.

Sorry she’s just popped up on my feed and I had to go on here to say what the hell is that weird dress she’s wearing in Venice?! She looks like the fairy godmother from Pinocchio and not in a good way. Like she’s a grown woman who’s come straight from the costume section of the Disney store 😂

I could almost put money on they'll have at least two paid/ promotional holidays within the next twelve months. Couples/ family. Definitely veering towards a travel account given she's never in the house for a full month stretch

Fair play if these are free holidays. She should state I’m showing details of a paid holidays as my job !!
But to show of all these ones she has paid for and got different matching outfits for the family is wrong on so many levels for the folk that is struggling to heat and power there homes atm.
that’s why she’s losing followers on social blade. There’s only so much people can take. I myself go away a lot. I never share my pictures to Facebook etc as I know there’s plenty struggling.

Anyone seen latest stories LA did about Spencer Mathews and his documentary about his brother that died?
I can’t really explain LA but her delivery of it all was so bad. Fidgeting, sort of smirking and going on about how she needs to find out about whether the brothers body was found! Apparently her new obsession.

It really made me uncomfortable watching. I don’t know if anyone else picked up on it but she really isn’t the sharpest tool!

Yes @Pomegranate I saw it and it made me really uncomfortable. It was a tragic event and it was gross that she is excited to see the outcome. I got the impression she was just saying it as she wants to be friends with Vogue.
