This is so strange, it’s all so fake and OTT , the outfits are like costumes , def not a mum on a city break .People are traveling with carry on luggage, the current trend is making your hand luggage work. The awful pink dress would take up one suitcase and she would look ridiculous in Venice. Italians are so chic and low key.

I understand your comment here is trying to be relatable, but please do not tell people you are in the top % of earners and and say you can’t afford a 5* hotel. Your comment is as out of touch with current reality as Laura’s life
I looked at her hotel in Spain (so far from her fanciest holiday of the year) for the same week next year for three children. With cheapest flight option and not checking any bags, flights and hotel came to €14,000 for a week's holiday. That was not going during English school holidays. We literally couldn't afford that. My husband has a good job but I am currently out of work and even for a high earner that is more than our annual disposable income.

I'm trying to show that even for someone earning a £70k salary we couldn't afford that level of holiday and she's had double figures of them so what kind of disposable cash do they have?!

Our household income is in the top couple % probably and we last went abroad in 2019, our first family holiday abroad. Last two years we've done a few nights somewhere locally self catering. We've spent quite a bit of money on our house in the last year but even if we hadn't we'd never be able to touch the number of and type of holidays Laura Ad has. Maybe one family holiday but wouldn't be 5*. I genuinely can't fathom how much it's all costing and how obscene it is in the current climate.
You're doing something very wrong if you are a top earner and can hardly afford holidays 🤣

$1,600 for a straw bag... unbelievable.

I'm clearly following the wrong people on IG. My lifestyle and LA's lifestyle are far too different now. She clearly has more disposable income than I make in 6 months - and I have a very good job with a much higher than average salary.
My car cost that 🙈 I’m not even joking.

I’ve noticed she’s removed K Middys BFF from her bio.
I still can’t believe a grown woman with children would actually write that. Juvenile and cringe.

What is the problem? Someone can be in the top percentage of earners and not have huge amounts of disposable income.
We earn good money and wouldn't be rushing to 5* resorts either.
No one says members here have to be relatable, influencers don't have to be relatable either.
Someone will relate to Laura, it might not be you but there are plenty of folk just like her.

And she’s noted that the frothy pink layer-cake of a dress from Selkie was a gift, and you too can shop there with her code.

She has been focusing on social climbing recently (trying to become besties with Chris Jackson and his wife) so maybe she's realised that won't happen if she keeps being cringe about Kate and stalking her. She needs a more subtle strategy now. Luckily it will never happen.

Why would anyone buy that dress?!

In terms of the disposable income argument... lots of people earn a lot but have a big mortgage or a lot of expenses. LA must have spent a fortune on having that house built and starting up her business, yet she is spending like she just won the lottery. Surely the chicken shop ownership can't have been that lucrative?! At the moment I can't explain how they are able to afford all of this.

My friend who is a small-town banker reminds me often that one should never underestimate how willing people can be to go into massive debt to look like they have a lot of money. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Instagram is very lucrative, that’s where the money is coming from, she is spending like crazy to keep it up but they are making a lot of money from Instagram links , promotions , ads etc . She has a high profile and her Royal obsession def makes her more attractive to brands . I reckon she will be doing lots of work in London from now on as that is def where the big money is .

I think you're right, some people are more comfortable with huge amounts of debt than I am!

I’ve never actually posted on here before but I just wanted to say, thank you for a bit of grown up perspective. I’m a similar age to Laura Anne. I sometimes look and think why can’t I afford to build a massive farmhouse immaculately done out or constantly kit my boys out in the latest fashions. Why has my only holiday been to wales this year and not Mauritius or Venice? I sometimes think I’m doing something wrong and compare myself to these instagrammers. And then I came on here this morning and was a massive relief. Like oh yeah. This isn’t the norm. For a lot of people. I do ok and my kids are happy and healthy and I have more than a lot and less than a lot and I should just be grateful for what I have. I think this social media lark is pretty toxic at times and it’s just nice to get some perspective from you all!!

Feel for you, it’s incredibly toxic. Sadly so many people can’t see through these influencers and their days are so miserable feeling they’re doing something wrong or they’re not enough, it’s just awful. Comparison is absolutely the thief of joy, be grateful for all you have, no doubt it’s all you really needed anyway despite what these blaggers try to sell you. Also, who doesn’t love Wales 😁😁

We are middle class, and we do travel a lot; we save up and upgrade a wee bit on accommodations, etc. (I do tend to bring a lot of clothes along!) We have a small house, older cars and no kids, and I’ll tell you my mind is blown 🤯 by some of her indulgences, for example TWO gondola rides. We’ve been to Venice, and the ride we took was the single most expensive thing we did on the whole trip to Italy… and they took one a day! 😳

Who knew being a chicken shop boy would be so lucrative?! 🥴😂 tell you what Laura-Ad, why don’t you take some of that cash and pay for hubby to get his teeth fixed. That picture she uploaded of him the other day gave me the ick 🤢 yellow/brown crooked and covered in plaque 🤮 stinking
