She was a triumph of confidence over talent - she was much bigger back then and used to literally throw her weight around. She had this weird mantra/obsession that she would be editor of Vogue by the age of 30
My card was marked when my bf at the time sent me flowers to the office which she clocked and started huffing and puffing that PRs should be sending her bouquets of the same calibre. She basically made her way through life by shouting over people. Just the polar opposite of the type of girl I’d want to be mates with..
OMG, even though it's so blurry, it's such an unflattering shot.
The silly thing is, this is what happens when you only present hyper-perfected images of yourself - she basically uses filters/apps to transform her raw selfies as an attractive 40-something woman into a hyper-perfected (by today's insane, warped social media standards) version of who she really wishes she was - and I think she wants us all to think she looks 28 years old and has very delicate, supermodel features, hollow cheekbones and a very *young* fresh-faced, girly-pretty beauty but she's a 48-year-old woman with a matronly figure, great eyebrows, blemish-free skin and pretty eyes. I personally, would have loved to have gone through life looking like 2001 Angelina Jolie (face-wise) with MTV VMAs 2000 Britney Spears body but that doesn't make it okay for me to photoshop the crap out of myself and tell the world on social media, "I actually *really* look like this, guys!" and then post statements on my socials declaring I never use filters, hinting people are just petty and jealous of me.
It's the way Alex gaslights people with her periodic "I do not use filters! It's such a shame people keep accusing me" statements on her Instagram when her IG posts are filtered to the max, she suddenly looks 28 years old and she has an alien-shaped head
I will never fathom how she shows up to public events and agrees to let anyone photograph her - although who could stop people snapping discreetly on their smartphones, I guess? I am mystified by how she doesn't worry that as soon as she shows up to a public event, people who have previously only seen her on Instagram will be thinking, woah! WTF? Who dis?! I'd be mortified if people saw me in real life and realised the reason I looked so insanely young, hot and skinny on my IG was that I was using FaceApp. There is so much evidence on YouTube and Instagram as to what she *really* looks like, I don't know how she has the nerve to deny her active cat fishing.

Is she one of those people who are soooo sweet and nice to people more successful than them like celebrities, Editor-in-Chiefs and supermodels? So many high profile make-up artists and models swear she's the nicest person ever.
I have seen Alex speak curtly and unnecessarily rudely to people on TikTok Lives when they asked questions I didn't consider rude. They just wanted to know if she has botox and she's been asked if she has a filter on, and I don't see why she has to reply in such a condescending tone with eye rolls and sighs.

I'm the same age with 'good' skin (apart from a spot of rosecea on my cheeks) and am often told I look younger. She's taking the piss. I've not got any base on in this pic.

So glad I’ve found this thread on Alex! I find her so fascinating…she actually walked past me in the street a few years ago walking with Sarah Jossel ( beauty journalist) she was very tall and very loud!!
she’s clearly a very attractive women but I do believe she has what appears to be a bit of an overbite or an uneven jaw. Looking at her in the flesh. The filtering on her chin is ridiculous especially when she appears in other peoples videos! You’re not fooling us Alex!

Welcome to the thread that I treat as my own support group even though it's just me most of the time pettily and pathetically ranting about Alex's beauty filter abuse and constant public denials about using filters whilst other people just get on with their lives
. It's no secret I am fascinated/pathetically obsessed with her shameless beauty filter habit. It's just utterly remarkable to me how she vehemently denies it. Yeah, Alex appears to have an asymmetrical jaw. Her top and bottom teeth seem misaligned in the same way Shannen Doherty and Betty Boo (early 90's British pop star rapper) had a lopsided look to their jaw/chin. And now, I'm wondering if anyone but me remembers Betty Boo and Shannen Doherty.
Google them for the jaw comparisons anyway. I bloody loved Betty Boo in the early 1990s and thought her asymmetrical jaw gave her face character.Alex has beautiful features on her face. Those eyebrows are terrific, her eyes are very pretty and she has nice lips. I've said it before but I was quite fond of Alex's Instagram persona when she first started on Instagram circa 2014-ish (I think?) but for me, it's like she suddenly went a bit mad and I lost respect for her overnight and started to feel rather appalled by her deceit and blatant dishonesty. I just wonder what the hell goes through her head when she posts these insanely distorted images of her face knowing so many people know what she really looks like and it's just f**king WEIRD behaviour.

How did she justify this to herself? Probably thinking well everyone looks better on their own Instagram pics…Its fine to remove the odd blemish but shaving inches of your chin…thats something else entirely!
I honestly consider this a mental illness - this level of wilful delusion and dishonesty. I’d have some respect for her if she was open about her use of filters. If she said “Hey! Beauty filters give me confidence! I enjoy using them” I wouldn’t be appalled by her but she is hell bent on asserting that she doesn’t edit her appearance in her content and she will tell us until she’s blue in the face that this is what she actually looks like - and she’s even urged us to ask people she knows because apparently, they’ll vouch for her. It’s the emperor’s new clothes syndrome.
All the other influencers like the Chapman sisters, Lisa Eldridge, Caroline Hirons and Estee Lalonde - everyone is humouring her out of compassion and pity I suspect.
It truly is a bizarre and remarkable thing.
