Her utter arrogance in insisting she doesn't filter is such a turn off for her followers, especially because her bread and butter is make up and beauty products. if she was pimping furniture to the masses, I doubt anyone would notice her weird cheek sucking in thing. She must think we're all idiots to buy this shit she's giving off daily.

She's a fraud, and haughtily aggressive when challenged (from my experience). Don't ask her about declaring gifts/ads etc. She'll take your face off.

So glad I’ve found this thread on Alex! I find her so fascinating…she actually walked past me in the street a few years ago walking with Sarah Jossel ( beauty journalist) she was very tall and very loud!!

she’s clearly a very attractive women but I do believe she has what appears to be a bit of an overbite or an uneven jaw. Looking at her in the flesh. The filtering on her chin is ridiculous especially when she appears in other peoples videos! You’re not fooling us Alex!
Hello and welcome, @nottouraverageuser ! Welcome to the thread that I treat as my own support group even though it's just me most of the time pettily and pathetically ranting about Alex's beauty filter abuse and constant public denials about using filters whilst other people just get on with their lives 😁 . It's no secret I am fascinated/pathetically obsessed with her shameless beauty filter habit. It's just utterly remarkable to me how she vehemently denies it.

Yeah, Alex appears to have an asymmetrical jaw. Her top and bottom teeth seem misaligned in the same way Shannen Doherty and Betty Boo (early 90's British pop star rapper) had a lopsided look to their jaw/chin. And now, I'm wondering if anyone but me remembers Betty Boo and Shannen Doherty. :ROFLMAO: Google them for the jaw comparisons anyway. I bloody loved Betty Boo in the early 1990s and thought her asymmetrical jaw gave her face character.

Alex has beautiful features on her face. Those eyebrows are terrific, her eyes are very pretty and she has nice lips. I've said it before but I was quite fond of Alex's Instagram persona when she first started on Instagram circa 2014-ish (I think?) but for me, it's like she suddenly went a bit mad and I lost respect for her overnight and started to feel rather appalled by her deceit and blatant dishonesty. I just wonder what the hell goes through her head when she posts these insanely distorted images of her face knowing so many people know what she really looks like and it's just f**king WEIRD behaviour.

And now she’s getting lavished with compliments over the latest pic she’s posted on Instagram …
And yes, this is a stunning representation of Alex …

But that sexy, gorgeous portrait of her is presenting a drastically different looking Alex compared to these screenshots of her from her trip to Versailles last week

She's good looking without the filters. Yes, she looks her age and is heavier than her preferred instagram vision, but she's a good looking woman and looks way more interesting than her insta-hun catfish. It's mad than she thinks looking like a sexy anime foetus is the better option.

People with actual body dysmorphia disorder get suicidal over taking an ID picture, I highly doubt they'd be public influencers playing with their face 24/7.
Some people don't care about authenticity and honesty; and clearly, this is giving her some kind of dopamine boost and she can't stop herself. I can't stand her.

In one of her previous insta videos she says that she's suffered from binge eating disorder iirc and that her weight can go up and down because of it. I can't remember which video it was, but I think it was a saved one (maybe an ask me anything or even a chatty get ready with me). Eating disorders are hellish and I imagine working in such an image focused industry can make it even more difficult.
Ugh, so sad. I feel for her but at the end of the day, I bet there are plenty of people looking at her feed wondering why they don't look like her when she's filtered and contorted to within an inch of her life. She owes it to herself and her audience to be honest.

I’m so appalled by her last IG Stories selfie. Every time I think she’s gone far enough, she goes even further with the utterly insane filtering. How? How is she not ashamed of this utterly embarrassing and outrageously dishonest practice?!

Alessandra Steinherr needs an intervention.

Seriously, does she really think we are all THAT stupid that we can’t tell that these tacky A.I artwork style selfies are not what she looks like in person, on YouTube, in her lives or on Getty Images?!

But yeah, okay, suddenly we have hollow cheekbones without any major weight loss.

Look how much more attractive she is in her normal state, she's smiling and enthusiastic, and has a normal face. And then the Guy Fawkes smize photo she's eye fucking herself and doesn't resemble a real life human person
I started following Alex when she was still at Glamour magazine & the only images I saw of her looked like this & I thought she had a lovely face. This is when I found her likeable & enjoyed her make up recommendations. But since 2016 I think, she just started playing around with beauty filters to the extreme and as you put it the major “eye fucking” started and I was turned right off. She could have been such a great content creator if she’d just stayed reasonably authentic - not presenting a fake mannequin face and insisting publicly that it’s her real face when there’s an abundance of evidence on the internet to the contrary.

The mad thing is that she looks fine. OK, do she doesn't look like the teenage skinny model she wishes she looked like, but she looks good irl. She just has some major hang ups and insecurities which she then passes on to other unsuspecting viewers.

I've read a few articles recently saying a lot of agencies may stop working with influencers who use filters. Alex should be top of their list.
Norway is supposedly going to pass laws that insist influencers/content creators must formally declare use of beauty filters for every post that uses filters because they're taking the toxic influence of social media and its impact on the mental health and body image of young girls very seriously. They want influencers to flag selfies that are using a beauty filter or that have been photoshopped so young girls know not to compare themselves to an edited image. I can't even imagine how on earth they'd legislate and enforce that but I like the idea. If such strict regulations were imposed on UK social media platforms, I wonder what Alex would do after using filters so heavily for years and she's still insisting she never has. I just wonder what it would take for Alex to come clean about her use of filters.

Side note: I am genuinely finding her IG content too repetitive and uniform now. Every Sunday Facial video looks identical, I can barely tell them apart. It's always a heavily filtered, over-exposed ring lighted video where she looks into the camera lens dreamily/narcissistically, squeezing a tube of some beauty cream from above her head sensually as she winks and air-kisses into the camera like a coy Japanese teenager.

Have also met her IRL and she’s much more like she is in the video, although it does look like she’s gained a little weight (which I’m certainly not criticising ). She’s pretty tall and has a really vivacious personality - I warmed to her a lot but completely agree with the filtering - it’s mad to think you are selling skincare but filter the hell out of everything.

As a woman who is tall, we naturally have a bigger build, feet, hands, shoulder width, hips etc. We’d fall over otherwise.
I know when I see photographs of myself next to smaller women I can feel huge, but I am not at all. It’s just next to a 5’2” size 10 is very jarring when you are 6’ and a size 14. It’s all relative. I think Alex looks great in those pictures from the event, it’s a huge shame she feels she needs to edit her pictures/videos to the extent she does.

It really bears repeating, but she's a good looking woman irl. OK, so not the eggshell skinned, lithe limbed, anime goddess of teenage boy fantasy, but who is anyway. The super-smooth UwU stuff she posts is so much more grotesque* than whatever it is that she's convinced herself needs correcting.

*I dont think she's grotesque looking at all btw; as I've said before, she's got real Jodie Comer's Cool European Aunt vibes and irl is pretty. The Anime Tinkerbell look she goes for online is awful.

She’s ridiculous. If she looked in real life like she presents on Instagram - she’d be considered one of the great beauties and best preserved woman of her age ever. Which she’s not. It must be soul destroying for her when she isn’t recognised by someone in person who was expecting tik tok Alex!

She's such a weird, bit narcissistic woman.. she looks fine in person but then she gets on her phone and she looks like her own daughter or something ( don't know if she has kids but gosh, she unages herself decades)...
I started to feel much less bothered by her dishonesty and excessive face editing for a while - actually just getting on with my life 🤓 and letting her be her inauthentic, vain self  - but then I caught her during a live instagram or some kind of reel post where she made some kind of sarcastic remark about the people who "falsely" accuse her of using filters. It was so nauseating because it was some kind of arrogant remark about how it's tricky for her when her skin is so smooth and glowing because "this is when I get accused of using filters because people can't believe my skin really looks like this!" - she said something to that effect and yet, during this video, she blatantly had the blurring filters on. I just can't with her outrageous dishonesty.
Every time she pulls the "But I really do look like this!" card, I want to scream, "NO! You really DO NOT, ya big fat liar! and there's enough tagged photos of you on Instagram to prove this!"
This is why I am highly critical of that Steinherr woman. Not only does she heavily beautify, youthen and change the shape of her face using apps, filters, ring lights etc but she will disparage the people who call her out on using beauty and smoothing filters and dismiss us as being too jealous and cynical to believe she really looks like her instagram photos. Her wilful determination to insist no matter what, that she looks exactly like her heavily edited/Facetuned photos in real life, is flabbergasting. She will die on that hill.

😭😭😂😂 bo selecta 👍🏻 @WTFness I don’t know why, but I imagined you to be American, even though you have probably never once made any reference about being American!
How funny! Nope. I am definitely British. A Londoner. Not remotely American. I'm in West London which is how I saw Alex in person as I'm pretty sure Alex lives in Notting Hill. I thought it was funny the other day, as she suddenly posted an IG story where she was at some bakery which was actually very close to where I was sitting in another cafe with my friend that same day and I remember being amused, thinking, wow, Alex is nearby. I think I can sense her presence! LOL!

Seeing her up close in a cafe in Westbourne Grove pre-pandemic is what kicked off my fixation on her beauty filter abuse. I was so astonished by how dramatically different she looked in person and my first thought was "OMG that's Alex Steinherr?! She's tricked us!" I was probably gawking at her, to be honest. I was just all "she is SO bloody cheeky making herself look 50 times hotter on IG!"

I've tried filters that make me look a thousand times prettier but I'd NEVER post a pic that I didn't think represented me accurately because I find the idea of people discovering that I've taken the absolute piss with beauty filters when they meet me in person so embarrassing. I'd rather people be pleasantly surprised when they meet me in person, thinking, "Oh she looks better in person! than "Bloody hell, she looks a decade older than her selfies on Instagram!"

Wow. Today’s ‘Live’ with the gastroenterologist providing more evidence that those Sunday Facial & ‘Ask Alex’ videos are filtered & edited extremely.

I used to know an old man who was completely bald on top. More than half the time, he'd wear what I'd call a "Beatles wig" because his wig was of a 1960s Beatles mop top style and yet other days, he couldn't be bothered to wear the wig at all YET if people asked him if he was wearing a wig on the days he did wear his ridiculously thick Paul McCartney circa 1961 wig, he'd deny it vehemently and look offended even though we'd all seen him without his wig several times. Alex and her filters are kinda like that.
