Aldi & Lidl #9

You don't need an instapot and it isn't complicated at all.
All you need is a couple of tablespoons of live yoghurt, bring whole milk to a boil . Let it cool so you can put your finger in it without burning yourself. Mix in the yoghurt and leave in a warm environment (I wrap mine in a blanket) for around 24 hours. Put in the fridge tadaaa !

Just tried one of these new protein quark bars from Lidl, very nice if you like cheesecake and fancy a little healthy ish treat. They're in with the protein desserts, 39p. Only tiny but fine for that price. There was another flavour too, think it was plain vanilla.
I tried this today after seeing your post, I really enjoyed it!! Really nice flavour and texture, similar to cheesecake as you said and I usually hate anything salted caramel flavour but I thought it was quite subtle and worked well. I’m definitely going to stock up but they must be popular as there were only 2 left (which went into my trolley 😂). Only difference is that they are 69p each in my Lidl.

No you don't need an IP but poster asked.

I was in Lidl today, here in Ireland.
I keep hoping they will start selling the Lush shower gel dupes here but I've never seen them.
The store did have the Molton Brown hand wash dupes: gingerlily, rose and rhubarb, and I forget the other one.
Also, there were dupes of L'Occitane hand and body wash: lavender, verbena and rose, and also a handcream.
Has anyone tried any of these dupes and are they nice?

I've tried the L'Occitane hand cream dupe, it's very nice, would definitely buy it again, really good sized tube as well, so lasts you a while

Thanks!
Funnily enough that's the one item of all the dupes that I bought 😅
I haven't opened it yet, so it's great to hear a good review.

I’ve got the lavender hand wash and the hand cream. Love them both. The hand cream is very thick and smells lovely

I tried the Lidl apple/blueberry porridge pot as thought they'd be handy for camping & it tasted absolutely dreadful & I felt like I was genuinely chewing cardboard...avoid!

Unfortunately, to my taste, the only ones that are great are the Quakers ones unless you pour lots of honey or golden syrup to make the cheaper ones less claggy.

Back to yogurt again - just been to Aldi and it seems the reason they didn't have the Greek No large Yogurt was that they were changing the pots. They are now in Kg pots instead of 500gms and they are £3.69 instead of £3.96 that 2 of the smaller pots were.
Moan today was there were no bigger packs of chicken breast only the 4 packs so will have to go back tomorrow.

I found frickles! In Aldi! And they're not frozen!

Popped by to get a few bits and there they were in the weekly special fresh section, which is American-style, and had to get them. Even though it's far too hot to be airfrying anything, I will be trying them today.

I really liked them, even though they made my acid reflux a bit mad. They're more like more thickly cut versions of the kind one would get on a McDonald's burger in a thinnish batter. Would definitely buy again 👍🏻

I got these pizza bases from Aldi some time ago.
Does anyone know if they were a special offer or if they are a permanent option?
The pizza we had last night was good!
Unfortunately it won't let me add a photo but they were vacuum packed sourdough ones with a blue label. 2 bases per pack which could be stored in the cupboard.

Anyone know how much cod is at lidl?

It's frustrating they put such scant information on their website. Waitrose is 5 minutes walk from me and has strong positives and strong negatives (price). Lidl is 25 minutes walk but doesn't put all the prices on their site!
