I had my nephew with me when I did the food shop today, and ended up getting talked into buying all kinds of things 😅 One of which was a tub of the new Ben & Jerry's style ice creams Aldi have.

The ice cream isn't the greatest quality (it was a little grainy), but for £2.49, it's pretty good! We got the turtle beach one, which has caramel and vanilla ice cream and little chocolate shaped turtles with caramel inside. The vanilla ice cream is blue, which I'm pretty sure is the main reason my nephew thought it was the greatest thing he'd ever had 🤣(We had a couple of spoons worth as we packed the shopping away - purely for quality control purposes, obviously)
I really like the Lidl chocolate brownie Ben and Jerrys knock off. It’s pretty much the same!

What is it with kids and blue ice cream? Mine go mad for it! Doesn’t even matter which flavour it is as long as it's blue 🥴
They had a cookies and cream one in the same range, which I think was all blue ice cream. He changed his mind several times about which one he wanted between the two 🤣

I have no Lidl's near me, but this thread sometimes makes me want to make an effort to go find one!

Also, that's the worst Ben & Jerry's flavour 🤣

I bought some of that for the caramel turtles not realising it was blue 😂 it tastes much better if it’s been out of the fridge at least 10-15 mins, possibly longer but I’m too impatient to wait

I think it's a cute concept, with the caramel ice cream being the sand and the vanilla being the sea

I'm a big fan of melty ice cream! It was quite melted when we had some earlier, as it had been out of the freezer for about 20 minutes by the time we got home, but it was still a little gritty/grainy. It didn't bother me enough that I won't eat it though 🤣

I’ve noticed that frequently with Aldi their ice cream is grainy. I got some of their mini magnums and I was so disappointed. The titan ice creams are god tier though and the berries and cream lollies are yum

Yea I found the aldi Magnums gritty too and they were so small. Their soleros were nice though

I on the other hand don't like their soleros. Lidls ones taste way creamier and more like solero to me

I think it’s how they’re storing it before it goes on the shelf/how long it takes to get home and in the freezer, I always find if their ice cream melts too much and then you re-freeze it goes grainy

Storage definitely impacts taste. I’m still annoyed at the pack of sausage rolls I bought in Aldi to eat for lunch in the car that were frozen when I bit them.

I have never bought a box of Lidl soleros that haven’t instantly fallen off the lollipop stick half melted as soon as I open them 😭 so annoying!

I grabbed one of the power banks from Aldi. A tenner is a good price for 20,000mah. Have they done these before / does anyone have experience with them? My only worry is if it’s cheap it might be bad quality and expand or overheat or something 😅

I cant say anymore than we bought one when we lived in Spain in 2020 and still in use now.

Picked these up from Lidl from the Italian week range. Absolutely delicious! Very similar to the chocolate caramelised cashews from M&S but in bar form. Hopefully still have them next time I’m in!
