Got the Specially Selected Pulled No Beef from Aldi and it was really good. Had it with broccoli and a Chinese chilli sauce. Texture was great without making me sick but it wasn't flaky like the Linda McCartney hoisin duck. Think it would be good with a BBQ sauce in a bun or in tacos. Can be found in the fridge. Think there is a no lamb kofta and pulled no pork been brought out too but I've not tried those.

Is there a way out of Lidl when you don't buy anything? I went in yesterday, they didn't have what I wanted so I tried to go through an empty checkout - no luck - gate wasn't for budging. The 2 checkouts in operation were in full flow with long queues and I didn't fancy trying to squeeze past all those trolleys, so I went back to the entrance, waited for someone to enter, and walked out that way ... and the alarms went off. o_O
It's so stressful.. you feel like you are a shoplifter trying to escape.. . Let us leave Lidl , for the love of god let us leave in peace 😂😂😂😂
---
I got stopped by security in Aldi a couple of months ago and he was shouting at me to come back in the shop as the alarm had gone off - I couldn't get past the people coming out so he continued to shout at me, it was so embarrasing as everybody at the checkouts were looking at me. When I got back in he accused me of stealing half a bottle of vodka and some tuna and was raising his voice at me to get them out of my bag. The man who works the self serve came running up and apologised to me and told him it was ok but the security guard just walked off and never said a word. The manger said that the security guy was new and he apologised and I told him if I was going shoplifting I would do in Marks and Spencers down the road. Not seen the security guard since and can only hope he got sacked.
Ohhhh I wouldn't let that go.... I'd be fuming... Sorry that happened you 💛

Do you have smoked tofu in your Aldi ? I have looked in 3 shops now and can't find it although it is on the website.

I managed to get the hazelnut crème and pistachio crème at my local Aldi this morning so I’m happy!

Have Lidl stopped doing bakery specials now? Haven’t been in for ages so I wasn’t sure, website hasn’t shown anything for a while.
They had chocolate chip flapjacks, jam filled cookies, chocolate orange muffins and chocolate cronuts when I was in last week but that was the 2nd week I’d seen them so due something new!

I have it in mine, it's divine! They have plain, smoked and sweet chilli flavours. It's in the fridges near the hummous and dips etc.

The new Aldi SS Mac and cheese ,( not the one with chrizio) is gorgeous.
Having it tonight with garlic bread and salad.

I bought the box of Turkish sweets a few weeks ago. Can’t remember if it was Aldi or Lidl. Big mistake!!
I scoffed them in a couple of days. No one else likes Turkish delight, so I had no choice😀

Ooh I've just bought these for dinner tonight, I was looking for the bigger one that serves 2 but couldn't see it so grabbed these instead. £2.99 seems quite reasonable if they're nice! Were they £2.99?

Omg! Have they stopped updating the website with their special guest items then or am I looking in the wrong place? I don’t live very close to Lidl anymore so I haven’t been in a long time and would only go for special items like the bakery but I didn’t think there was anything! Sad now lol. Maybe I can convince Mr Pecan to call in on his way back from work 🤭

I haven’t seen their special items in their leaflets in a long time but I do my weekly shop there so always check to see what’s new for me to try 🤣

I noticed that Lidl are selling biscuits that look like custard creams in flavours after dinner mints, gingerbread and mince pie.
Anyone know if these are any good?
The vegan frozen stuff looked nice.
I picked up puff pastry tarts X2 with Mediterranean veg and sauce as there was only one left 😁 no idea if it's nice.

New to this thread! Has anyone tried any interesting Christmassy bits and pieces? 😁

I'm hoping to go tomorrow or Friday and have a browse. I haven't been to Aldi for ages due to poor health and having to do online grocery shopping (which I wish Aldi did, ours is across traffic on the other side of town so always a hassle to drive to although I'm grateful to finally have one!).

I'm hoping to discover some seasonal items in the fridges and the Christmas treats aisle in the middle, dangerous...

I stumbled across it the other day. My store had the smoked, plain and sweet chilli. My OH had the smoked on a salad and said it was very tasty. I really rate their plain firm one.

This was classed as a basket and rang up at just £2.50 in lidl. I'm going to fill it with chocs and have it on the coffee table 😍.

thats tit training, used to be supermarket manager and we were always taught that you can’t tackle somebody unless you see them select and then conceal the item and pass the last point of payment. Example is somebody brings a lightbulb from home to make sure they buy the right one. You seem them putting a lightbulb in their bag so assume they have stolen it, what you didn’t see was them taking the lightbulb off the shelf so you stop them for stealing their own lightbulb.
Obviously this is an extreme example and odds are if you see somebody putting a bottle of champagne then yes they are stealing it.
back before mobiles we often had customers come in with an empty bottle of wine to make sure they picked up the right one

Just got lots of goodies from Aldi including dark choc covered orange slices, caramelised nuts and blonde choc marshmallow brownie bites. They were all in the middle aisle. Taste tested all of it as soon as I got home, all of them are really nice except the brownie bite which don’t really taste of anything.

I also got the hazelnut cream and it’s like crack, I honestly could eat the whole jar in one go. Im not buying it again it’s sooo good and im trying to watch my weight 😂

looked for the mac and cheese but couldn’t see it. Stocked up on pasta sauces and curry spice pots as well as the usual meat/veg etc.
