yeah I think you’ve been hoodwinked for the past 10 years - can’t shut them up in aldi. They must’ve had a secret shopper in and been scolded for being the least friendly branch - you’re going to have to pretend to like people if you want to carry on shopping there 😂
Aldi staff are so lovely, my dad has Parkinsons and has been going in to Aldi for years and all the staff chat to him.

He went in a few weeks back and hr had a new bank card and forgot to activate it so couldn't pay at the checkout, so he said he would go home and get cash and come back down and the lovely manager there wouldn't hear of it and told him to take his shopping on the house.

Dad went back anyway later with cash and they wouldn't accept it and told dad to donate it to a food bank if he wanted but that he didn't need to pay.

The security guy there also helps him put his shopping in the car.

I got this yesterday and have just had a satisfyingly tiny bill for a large basket of shopping!

Stuff likes this makes me have warm feelings for Lidl.

I've been shopping in Aldi since it opened about 10 years ago and NO ONE has ever spoken to me apart from hello and thank you. I got to the till and the bloke said busy day? Do you like gardening? any hobbies, do your family live local? I hope this isn't a regular thing I just want my shopping thrown at me and to get out 🤣

Made the mistake of eating 5 of these… pray for me and my toilet 🙏🏻

5 isn’t exactly excessive consumption!! Is it?!
PS: sorry for completely lowering the tone of the thread 😂
I ate half a packet of the foamie things ages ago & all I can say is thank god I was in the house at the time. Sugar free sweets are banned in this house after that.
Thoughts are prayers are with your tummy (&your bum hole) at this difficult time 🙏

I have spoilt myself by having a proper coffee machine so now can’t drink instant. My husband has no such quality control and I’m quite jealous really.

Similarly the first time I got a work bonus, I bought an amazing mattress. This means that hotel beds can be a disappointment.

I struggle on.

This is honestly scum bag behaviour. Can’t stand people who’s first thought it to rip other people off.
Do what I’m doing. Seek out the sellers that are posting via Royal Mail as it’s not integrated and tracked, claim it didn’t come and get refunded, I can even make them wait up to 30 days before reporting an issue as well. I bought 4 yesterday.

I’ll resell them at cost on Vinted to vetted buyers actually wanting them for their kids.

I've taken photos of Lidl's "American" range before and sent them to a friend in New Jersey. She was baffled but also a tiny bit offended 🤣

I got stopped by security in Aldi a couple of months ago and he was shouting at me to come back in the shop as the alarm had gone off - I couldn't get past the people coming out so he continued to shout at me, it was so embarrasing as everybody at the checkouts were looking at me. When I got back in he accused me of stealing half a bottle of vodka and some tuna and was raising his voice at me to get them out of my bag. The man who works the self serve came running up and apologised to me and told him it was ok but the security guard just walked off and never said a word. The manger said that the security guy was new and he apologised and I told him if I was going shoplifting I would do in Marks and Spencers down the road. Not seen the security guard since and can only hope he got sacked.

I was in my Aldi earlier (looking for 2kg dumbbells)....the irony is that I came out with massively reduced mince pies, white choc lebkuchen and cherry Bakewell Jaffa cakes...

Thank you all for the chocolate concern. That is not the one @Carefree but I had a triumph today - I went for an early run and decided to run to my local Lidl JUST IN CASE it had new Thursday stock. Well they DID - a whole box of my Madagascan faves!

Actually this was v early, just past 8am, and someone had already had a few bars from the box. There were nine bars left so I grabbed seven of them and left two in case I am not the only local addict. Then I ran home clutching them. When I checked my time later I had run faster than I normally do - it must have been all the excitement!

So I am now sorted for a while, but thank you everyone who has looked out for me - you should try this stuff if you can. A girlfriend had been telling me for ages I had to stop eating crap choc and get into dark choc as it was basically a health food. I tried loads and this was the only one I liked. And it has weaned me off my usual Maltesers!

Thief!!!!!!
:ROFLMAO: Mind you, I did check umpteen times to make sure I hadn't picked something else up and forgotten about it. Then I made a big point of looking up at the cameras with outstretched open palms, pantomime shrugging shoulders and what I hope was an innocent looking face. No self-serve checkouts in that particular store to sneak through, unforch.

Anyway ... no cops at the door yet so I must've got away with it, but gotta say, this bottle of Prosecco that must've fallen into the hood of the child's buggy is rather delish. Hic! ;)

I don't know what Lidl have done to their chocolate digestives but they've gone from being better than McVities to inedible. It's been a while since I last bought them so not entirely sure when they changed, but I had a bad feeling as soon as I saw the packaging was different. They're now like chewing a lump of concrete - rock solid and tasteless.

I know it's such a small life problem, but I'm so sick of everything continually getting shitter.

I have to praise Lidl's customer service team. Went to the Hammersmith branch yesterday and neither the app discount nor my coupon went through at the time.

Got in touch with them on WhatsApp, perfect for me and my issues, and they've put a new coupon on my Lidl app that more than covered the difference.

That branch might be awful but I was very impressed with their response. Well done them 👍🏻
