THe new 'woke' John Lewis ad, where the kid goes around trashing the house while his Mum looks on. That is NOT OK. I really want to climb into the telly and sort him out.
It pisses me off every time I see it. The kid emulating drag is bad enough, drag is not for kids and this performance is clearly drag inspired - so inappropriate. But what finished me off was the fact that the kid is destroying the house, his sisters picture etc and the mum just sits there like it’s no big deal. No parent would just sit there whilst their kid is smearing paint all over the walls for fucks sake and no insurance company would pay out because you allowed your kid to wreck the place. It’s just a stupid advert that I really can’t relate to as a parent.

I searched for this thread specifically because of that stupid beardy cunt in the Vinted adverts on YouTube. His smug face does my head in - did they try to find the most stereotypical Shoreditch bloke going just to annoy people like me?!!

Oh also that teaching advert where the guy writes his name on the board as a title then uses a full stop!!!!!!!

for a teaching advert you’d think they got some basic grammar and punctuation in there!?!?!?
Oh I dunno about that. My daughter had an so-called English teacher who was useless. This silly creature sent back daughter's homework with what she said were spelling mistakes underlined in red biro, but I knew damned-well they were correct as daughter had asked me as she wrote the essay but I let it ride that time.

Then the next essay comes back with all the same red underlining so I checked with A Proper Old Dictionary BOOK, not spellcheck, and yes my spellings were correct so I took my red pen out and corrected ALL the teacher's spelling errors (of which there were plenty) along with a note telling her that she ought to invest in a Dictionary before criticising other people's spellings based on her use of Americanised spellings as per her spellchecker. Oddly enough daughter never had any more red biro after that :)

The one for Numan boner pills. It is always on at dinner time and the guy at the end has this gross ‘yeah look at my stonking boner’ look that makes me cringe. I stupidly told my husband this and he does the look at me every time it comes on 🙄

What does Stacey actually do nowadays too?!

I hate the part when she waves to friends off camera, before going straight back to fawning over herself in the mirror! Cringe all the way through!
The part where she's dance training in a leotard as if her actual life is like that  I know she was on Strictly but spare us the nonsense please, ad agency.

I genuinely thought that Asda one was a mocumentary send up/joke.

I've said this on here before but, The Plantur shampoo one that says it's great for women, whispering 'especially those over 40'. We need to whisper about women being over 40 do we? Fuck off! It's offensive!

The Durex one about 'winning' an orgasm - who came up with that concept? Winning an orgasm? It's ridiculous.

The, I think Andrex, one about how clean? We know what toilet roll is for and I understand the challenge in advertising it but do we really need to think about how clean people's shitty arses are at dinner time? The fold or scrunch one was just :sick: I don't want to know about how people wipe their arses!

And for some reason the advert for Lenor I think when they're in a bed in the high street - The shaved head girl with the toothy grin just irritates me. I think it's because they're so stupidly happy about clean sheets - just wash your bed more!

Famalam did a really good sketch on interracial couples in advertising. They used actual ads and it was just ridiculous seeing how many use an interracial couple as some sort of obscure tick box exercise. The one that seems to have absolutely gone to town on this recently is the Virgin media one where they have an interracial gay male couple and an interracial lesbian couple. Why not just show two black women? Or two Asian men? Ditto any combination including interracial relationships across ethnic 'minorities'. It just undermines both sexuality and race. It's not about representation at all- it's just about being seen to be all encompassing when, really, they're obviously still too scared to show two ethnic minorities in a relationship and have to do some insulting anchoring by means of one of them being white.
I have noticed a lot of adverts with a black woman and a white man as a couple. Nothing wrong with that, but why don't some of them just use a black couple? I agree it just makes it seem like the companies are box ticking.

I hate any ads with celebrities in that make no sense, like eamon Holmes advertising life insurance or whatever it is, does he need money that badly?!
Have you seen the one with him and Ruth advertising Revitive?

Talk about cringey

I’ve just seen an advert where two people squeak at each other like dolphins. It may just be worse than the Dominos yodelling advert.

I really dislike the Rightmove advert about renting! It depicts this fantasy world where renting for young people is a magical experience of “collecting keys” and finding the perfect place “for now” - it just seems so far removed from reality and out of touch in the current climate 😣
