I rarely watch TV live as I tend to watch programmes on catch-up platforms purely to avoid the adverts and the ridiculous trigger warnings before a programme starts. But sometimes the catch-up platforms have adverts too so there's no total escape from them unfortunately.
Thankfully its mostly disney plus, netflix an amazon she watches so since we pay for them there's been no adds as of yet

It's getting rarer an rarer for the younger generation to actually watch TV now, with being able to stream things on phones/tablets an social sites etc, I give it another 5 to 10 years an live TV will be struggling to keep up with the youngsters

Just saw a YSL fragrance ad with Lenny Kravitz where he takes off sunglasses and a random young guy's face pops up -- is this meant to be him as a young un? or he's dreaming of this young un? Unnecessarily vague and corny.
I'm guessing it's meant to be ambiguous. It could be someone who's fantasising they are more attractive than they are. It could be someone dreaming of recapturing a lost love or being with someone they know in the present. Any viewer for which either of those is the case is obviously meant to subconsciously think the fragrance is the solution. It could be taken as someone who actually thinks they are good looking or actually has the lover they want, so that the viewer associates the fragrance with those good feelings and wants to go on using it.

The build your own car, dinosaur, house, aeroplane magazine they advertise every new year, first part 99p, then 3,000 more to collect for £1,000 every week at newsagents now (exaggerating a bit but get my drift) 😂
my husband is the only person I know who has committed to this. He bought the Marvel hard book comic collection for 99p and now we have over 250 hard back graphic novels.

New hatred is for the one where the woman gets her hair cut at the person's house then doesn't have any cash, but oh look she has her own card machine so then she oooooooooooooooh's for ages.
Oh my goodness it gives me rage!

has anyone ever done this? I’m tempted to this year!
Why not just put the money in a jar under the bed because at least that way you'll have cash to spend and not ruddy vouchers! I don't think there is anything to be gained by doing this because all you re doing is giving someone else your money to play with for a whole year plus gaining the interest on it that you could have if you'd stuck it into a saver account yourself

Came on here for this ad! Everything about it is horrible. The overweight boy smugly licking an ice-cream is so irritating and they pay it on every ad break! 😠
Like I said previously - like said boy would go to the buffet and just take a sprig of grapes?? Wheres the rest of the doughnuts, 12 ham rolls, 25 Penguin biscuits and a lump of cheddar that could feed a family of 6 easily?

Nothing against the dog, but if you didn't see the caption, would you know what it was advertising?

Some adverts try too hard to be amusing, so sometimes viewers/consumers miss the whole point of it.
No it’s a totally shit ad I agree. That dog would have been great in something else.

I thought I was safe from bloody Verisure ads here in France but NO! They're here too arrrrgggghhhh :(

So far they are simply info ads with a voice track, not their horrific cardboard actors creaking through the script so We'll see if they evolve into the delights on UK telly :)
