It seems really obvious with the brits in recent years that the artists know when they’re going to win or they won’t bother turning up. Compare little mix’s very unsurprised reaction last year for the best group to when they won their first ever brit. Same with Adele, they would have to tell her she’s won to get her there IMO. But it was like she couldn’t be bothered to act surprised. I also think looked like she was scared of getting booed, definitely didn’t want to be there.
Yeah I'm sure The Spice girls or someone said years ago they were told they had won before the event. Adele looked like she couldn't be arsed well neither can we love!
I’d say she’ll be booed if she showed up to the Grammys or something state side! Would affect the majority there more!
Yeh, in reality though I doubt anyone would boo her. She does seem very insecure about the public accepting her though (in interviews etc). It’ll be interesting to see if she brings Vegas up on Friday
Please don't have a go at me but....I have personal experience of flying out to Vegas and New York to see a singer who cancelled, sometimes just minutes before the show.
Sadly, it's the chance you take when you travel to see artists in residence. I am in no way condoning it and I did get refunds for the show tickets however I just made the best of it and enjoyed the cities I was in.
I don't think, in my opinion, that artists should refund flights/ accommodation. Like I said, it's the chance you take.
She's looking so thin it makes her look ill. Her attitude stinks, she's become a complete shell of her former self and its so sad to see.
I do agree with you on this, there is always the risk of not seeing an artist when you travel to see a show. But I still think Adeles attitude to this is quite cavalier, that’s what‘s adding insult to injury on this.
I thought she didn’t come across naturally at all this eve, she tried, but this was a very different Adele.
And, what about that ring? If they have just got engaged, that’s even more worrying.
They clearly had an almighty row, enough for her to cancel Vegas for, so a big old rock won’t paper over those cracks.
She has a dream job for an artist. Make a smash album, promote it for a bit, make lots of money, then bugger off for several years and do sweet F.AShe wants to reduce working commitments? She’s been MIA for 5 whole years…
Most artists say touring is their favourite part of the job and that’s what everything they work on builds up to?

I saw her collect the award. Why does she put on that heavy cockney accent? We all know she can talk normal in that segment from the interview with Oprah. She want to go into acting or something? Lol

Of course there’s always a risk, I’ve travelled a couple of hundred miles for a gif that was cancelled whilst we were seated waiting but it was still disappointing. But I think the fact she’s done it before (if you had to cancel shows once, you’d hope they would do everything in their power to do it again - that doesn’t appear to be the case here) and up until recently she seemed to me to play heavily on the “I’m just like you”/humble/down-to-earth girl but again it’s been reported her diva like behaviour that’s behind this - which I can 100% believe - that isn’t really sympathetic to her fans who had already travelled.
The tears with no tears said to me that she wasn’t actually bothered about the impact of cancelling would have on anyone but her. I’m not convinced there isn’t more she could have done to go ahead - she didn’t just find out when she made the announcement and what would have stopped her putting on a show of her just singing for those who were already there?

Don't normally stray into this thread but I just saw her collection of little shruggy "oh me again" award reactions on the news and found it incredibly infuriating!

People can say what they want about Ed Sheeran, and even I think he is overexposed. But he is humble and seems like he genuinely likes to learn about music and from different artists.
Like last night I saw his song with that rock band. They might not be everyone's tastes, but not many artists of Ed's fame would be performing with a barely heard of rock group for his only Brits performance.
He also seems self aware enough to realise that he has his haters and people think he's overexposed. Totally the opposite to Adele.

Wearing the big diamond on her ring finger is the most cynical attempt to take attention away from the Vegas cancellation and leaves a nasty taste in the mouth.
