They find god and then seem to think they’re better than others and spend a lot of time being wicks to everyone else and using their new found religion to back up their superiority. He really is not a christian at all. If he were, he would know how to forgive, no it does not 'take time'. If you have forgiveness in your heart and soul as a christian, you know the right path straight away.That's what jumped out at me. Wow.

He has shot himself in the foot...can't imagine any sporting/sponsorship deals coming his way.
Interesting column in today's Telegraph on Adams 'forgiveness' being tied to his parents 'improvement'. I think it makes an interesting point about people's willingness to forgive themselves with justifications or explanations for their behaviour but not others. In Adam's Guardian interview he explained his past behaviour on his elite athlete mindset before saying his parents must earn his forgiveness. I appreciated this explanation of Christian forgiveness...

The phrase "as a Christian" is a great signifier of someone who is up their own a IMO

Family member has been abusing A & E at our local hospital with bogus ailments. Rude to staff when they find nothing wrong with them. I called them out and suggested maybe their health anxiety would be better placed being addressed by their GP. Rolled their eyes and laughed at me so me being me lost my
at them for being a fool. Their father agreed with me.Since then this Christian convert seems to have forgotten about forgiveness and ignored their father completely. No visit, text etc for Father's day, sent a card via Moonpig a week early. In fact no contact with him at all. Was 'too busy' to see him on Father's day.
Has a massive superiority complex and forgets their father raised them alone from a toddler because birth mother is a div.
Used to be a nice person now got head so far up a. Definitely a theme here with these converts.
I went to a uni that also taught trainee vicars and whilst there were some lovely ones there were a few that were just nasty and not remotely Christian at all. A lot of the religious studies BA students had also ‘found’ god and were frankly evil and again threw their religion as a reason for them being wicks.
I remember one particularly horrible woman saying some disgusting things and asked where in the Bible it said to character assassinate someone and she burst into tears and called me a bully… they walk amongst us.

Adam would feel far less bitter if he did forgive - there are people out there who have forgiven the murders of family members, to stop themselves from holding on to anger that can ruin their life. It doesn’t mean they forget but simply that they choose peace. He’d probably find he felt better in himself, reconciling can take time but not forgiveness.
