Ah here, as someone who isn’t a fan of my MIL if she told me she was wearing cream to my wedding it would have been like a red rag to a bull. It doesn’t even need to be a MIL wearing it, any guest who wears white or cream to a wedding is ignorant it’s literally common courtesy

I had never even heard of ARP (lol) a week ago and now I’m overran with articles against my will.

I can’t help but side with them though, my mother wasn’t at my wedding and it was all “look what she’s done for you” not that I’m an Olympian. But she’s a physically and emotionally abusive narc who ruined my child hood and has left me with trauma. Nobody would know, as it’s not something that was acknowledged I just cut her out, I’m not trying to me rail at all but nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors and his family seem absolutely awful leaking stuff to the press.

I find it telling that the only ones running to the press are the Peaty family, although I'm curious who leaked the "dig" that Gordon supposedly made in the wedding speech.

I've got people like Caroline and her sister in my extended family and bloody hell they could start a fight in an empty room! They take the most innocuous stuff and turn it into WW3 so if the Peaty family are like that then I completely understand why they've been cut out.

Caroline comes across as being used to laying down the law and her family kowtowing for an easy life, but when she tried the same stunts on the Ramsays she got put firmly in her place and didn't like it. Hence the drama and hysterical escalation, it's punishment for going against her. Except it's not quite gone as planned, sympathy's fast running out and she's being exposed for what she truly is, as is her sister.

Let’s not kid on the Ramsays/Adam/his sister aren’t purposely drawing attention to all this. The public venue that gave them a decent pap walk, the selling out to a magazine, the sister now sharing the gifts on instagram (like she doesn’t know this gives the DM several days worth of content). Any family with any dignity would have kept the whole thing as private as possible. They might not be directly running to the press but they are sure as hell just as classless when it comes to keeping a lid on things.

Also as a mother of three myself, I cannot imagine in what capacity publicly shaming a child of mine would ever be ok or that I’d even consider doing that.
Granted there has probably been fault on both sides but adult or not, he’s still her child and she is still the parent
This all should have been sorted away from the papers.

I’m so sick of the Mum now & her woe is me, it’s all starting to get a bit Alice Evans.

I don’t think Holly is unattractive, she reminds me of Lady Mary out of Downton

Nevermind how wet look he is. He looks likes doing not bad for almost being 40. I'm cackling at this curtain shes draped in so they can get their OK magazine paycheck. I know they'll have loads of professional photos but ones coming out of the venue are usually so lovely, the nerves from voes are done, you are married and get to walk out with your new spouse. Imagine looking at these and theres you in what looks like my granny's highly flammable table cloth. And he's morphing into her dad

His Mum used to be the one watching his son at these meets so now poor George can't even watch his Dad compete like he did in Paris as presumably Holly is now focused on been a girl Mum not a step mum

I always feel like they made a big deal about Holly being this wonderful step mum including George in everything (and I’m not saying she was being anything other than kind towards George when with him) but it just all felt performative. And now she’s going to have her own baby, I think we will see this dynamic change dramatically.

Adam strikes me as the type to only want be a father when it suits.
Even when George was just a toddler he thought it was sensible for him to be passed down railings in steep stadium or yesterday have him paraded in front of press with shirt untucked and shoelaces untied. Only caring about Adam's brand then child's best interests.
Even when he was in crowds at Paris Olympics Caroline was looking after George while Holy posed for selfies.

I'd like to think Caroline and Eiri have arrangements between themselves so George can stil see that side of the family. From the sounds of it George spent more time with his Grandparents then Adam who was busy training, competing or up Gordons backside somewhere.

Holly probably sees George as an inconvenience she’d otherwise happily live without, children are either narcissistic supply to the parent, or a source of annoyance to the stepparent.

looks like Holly aims to get pregnant immediately given she asked for a bassinet on the registry, these people have no shame, asking for stuff they could easily buy themselves.

She has fuck all else to do so a pregnancy announcement is easily the next best thing to help her “career” aka grift

The person I feel sorry for the most is little George. He may not see his paternal grandparents anymore due to the fallout and if Holly and Adam have a child together will likely get pushed to the side. I'm glad George's mother seems to have a sensible head on her shoulders and he is with her most of the time.

How horrible for Gordon to be using his speech to get a sly dig in. Absolutely not the time or place. How pathetic. If your daughters MIL had allegedly caused all of this trouble then you just wouldn't even give them the satisfaction of being mentioned on her big day. (I say allegedly because noone except those involved truly knows what has happened behind closed doors.) Both sides have been absolutely pathetic running to the papers, posting things on social media etc. I'm mortified for them all.

It seems like he's gone from the athlete world to the celeb world via Strictly and the Ramsey's, and it's turned his head. They're different worlds.

A lot of dirty washing has been publicly aired when perhaps the Peaty family would have been wiser to keep things private. But it feels like there is a lot of hurt and subsequently a lot of lashing out. Anyone from a working class family will know how much sacrifice and support his parents would have given for Adam to get where he is (along with his talent). It is hugely sad and my heart aches for his mum in particular.

A situation like this can be a six of one, half a dozen of the other situation. They can't come back from this. Even if there is a reconciliation the damage is done. I say this from personal experience. It sure as hell doesn't help matter when the big mouthed father-in-law says that Tana "will be a good mum to them both" and to his daughter he says "Shame you don't have the same" at the reception. Classy as ever Gordon making cheap shots like that, he so uncouth.

Photos like this say it all. This should have been a photo with both sets of parents. Instead, Adam has replaced his with the Beckhams. For a couple who aren’t family, who aren’t part of the bridal party, David and Victoria sure get their faces front and centre of this wedding.

If he has blocked all of their numbers or doesnt reply etc then they might be thinking this is the only way to have him read what they want to say. Its obviously not going to help but they must be desperate. I can only imagine how annoyed he must be about it constantly being splashed all over the papers. Families are always going to be complicated but these 2 and the Beckhams need to stop this public Jeremy Kyle behaviour and either sit down and talk things through in private or draw a line under everything, forget about it and move on with their lives without their parents/children
