She's already pulled out two of the eucalyptus trees planted in the landscape because they've dried out. She claims to have been watering them every day, but the plants definitely didn't look like that. And Josh, unfortunately, couldn't help transplant the dahlias because he had to rethink the irrigation system.

And since she almost never uses salt anyway, she's now adding salt to her coffee. Maybe she should just switch to a different type of coffee.

She’s got this thing that she never even says my son she always says my family. I get they don’t want him on social media not even his name and I applaud them for it but surely just saying I won’t make the chilli too hot for my son or something like that would sound better.
I also saw in the news that an Australian you tuber is being threatened with legal action for passing off other people recipes as her own. Watch out Becky they’re coming for you!!

Salt in coffee ? What is the reasoning behind this ?

Watching them manage their garden is like watching the blind leading the blind. I think he's just doing it to pacify her and her shambolic ways.

A pinch of salt in coffee makes it taste less bitter. I'm not a coffee drinker; I hate the smell alone, and I can't even swallow the stuff.
To me coffee smells like a used cat litter.

But before I add salt to a drink to make it drinkable, I'll just drink something else. But that's probably too logical an approach to the matter.

Especially whenever she says "my family," you already know Josh won't be there. He'll probably be sitting in his office for the next few weeks, rethinking the irrigation system. I'd be surprised if he came up with a sensible solution.

What does she always do in the library with her son? He's still way too young for that? Maybe this library thing is different in the US than it is here, but in our country, you go there to read or borrow books or do research and you're supposed to be quiet. Becky can't even keep her mouth shut for five minutes, so what's she doing there?

Some libraries do story time sessions for toddlers. One of my son’s favourite memories is before he started school and I used to take him to the library

So, Becky was at a garage sale and vintage sale and proved once again that she simply has bad taste. Aside from the fact that I generally found the quality there rather mediocre, I hate it when she touches everything. She bought cheap jewelry, a broken rolling pin, and a striped pottery box. And for a whopping $65, she bought a stand with a hanging flower pot. The thing is very rusty, the hanging basket can't be removed, and I'm sure the thing will fall over at the first gust of wind. Oooopsie, great finds, Becky.

oh cod, is that another one where she fondles everything and declares things cute, but doesn't actually buy anything? The desperation to find content fillers is palpable. If I want to see thrifting in the Portland area, I tune into Laura Caldwell. She knows you don't show up to a car boot without cash.

I’m find it very odd that she has no faith in her own choices/opinions. I mean she’s a successful woman who created a you tube channel from nothing! Yet she can’t go to an antiques market and buy a few things she likes even if they end up not being perfect. She has to take her mother in law. So what if she waste a few dollars on a plate that might not see the light of day? Why does she have to agonise over buying a pink plate. I know she’s obsessed with not having clutter but her buying sprees or not buying sprees are tedious.

I’m find it very odd that she has no faith in her own choices/opinions. I mean she’s a successful woman who created a you tube channel from nothing! Yet she can’t go to an antiques market and buy a few things she likes even if they end up not being perfect. She has to take her mother in law. So what if she waste a few dollars on a plate that might not see the light of day? Why does she have to agonise over buying a pink plate. I know she’s obsessed with not having clutter but her buying sprees or not buying sprees are tedious.

I wonder whether one or both of her parents were over bearing, and didn’t let her make her own choices, always knew better, little to no room for free will. That would make for an indecisive adult. The way they called her “our Becky” in one of the vlogs (I think), makes me think she was very sheltered. I don’t see that with her other sister. She moved out of state, and seems to be living a full life independently from her parents. Becky lives close by and regularly calls on them when she needs help in the garden. My 2 cents ! Bur I dislike her shopping vlogs ! The way she ponders over everything and spends hours looking at stuff to then leave without a single purchase drives me insane. Who does that ?

20 pumpkin plants per bed and several cabbage plants on top of that is already way too much.

I think it’s Josh who doesn’t like clutter and mess. So she is worried about his disapproval of anything she does. She is always thinking will Josh like it before do I like it. With things she says that he obsessively washes his car and is the person who cleans the floors with his special mop!! He is clearly anal about tidiness. Apart from the fact it took him two years to finish the trims on the house!!

It seems to me that Becky had mental health issues in the past (and probably still does). I think she has to force herself to be tidy. Her rather sparse interior design style is simply meant to prevent things from looking messy. I'm sure the rooms that aren't constantly filmed aren't as tidy. The seedling room is the best example. In the spring, it looked like a bomb had exploded because she had just crammed everything in there. Then she tidied everything up once, and weeks later, it looked the same again, and her mother immediately started cleaning up.

She's also not very decisive. If something doesn't go exactly according to plan, it completely throws her off track. Then she feels overwhelmed again, and instead of making decisions or adjusting her plan, she goes to fold laundry or empty the dishwasher. She also likes to procrastinate. How long did it take her to return the broken vacuum cleaner? I think it took almost six months. The way she constantly seeks approval from Josh is almost unpleasant. With her constant need for approval from others, she's becoming very dependent.

Sometimes I don't know if she sees her mother as a role model or as competition. I find her parents to be very caring and supportive, but not preachy or judgmental. Her mother can be a bit annoying at times when she enjoys her screen time in the vlogs too much, but she's also kind of touching in how she supports Becky. It always surprises me that we hardly see any interaction between Josh and her parents.

Becky is one of the many YouTubers who owe their success to the pandemic. But I don't feel like her channel is continuing to grow. Her vlogs simply lack variety. It's basically a constant rinse and repeat. And when she keeps emphasizing the skills she wants to develop, I don't see much progress. But at the end of the day, we only see what she wants to show, and it's her job, and it's business.

I found it really weird in her video last week that she asked Josh for help in the garden and he said no, he wanted to work on irrigation. Don't they talk? It seems like she'd have already asked, like the night before, "hey Josh I could use help for a few hours in the garden, I'd like you to do xyz". Or, you work for me so hop to it (kidding, sort of).

It did make me laugh that Josh had decided that he would spend the morning planning the irrigation. Then she said let’s see what Josh is doing with the irrigation and she panned round and said oh he’s feeding the chickens!! Kind of like you see those memes where a woman asks her husband for help round the house because they’ve got guests coming and she wonders where he is a little later and he’s outside cleaning the car and driveway!!Then Josh was begrudgingly shifting soil. I bet they have some humdinger rows! Just the impression I get.

I always find it funny how she justifies herself when she treats herself to something like her favorite yogurt, granola, or a snack. I think to myself, what's the point? Girl, you're making thousands of dollars with this vlog, you might as well treat yourself. And then on the other hand, she sees a crappy chicken coop for $999 that's really crap and wants to send Josh a photo. I wouldn't even consider spending that much money on an inferior solution. Somehow, her sense of proportionality when it comes to spending is out of balance. Does she have to justify her spending to Josh?

I'm curious to see what kind of solution he comes up with. I hope he plans to have different zones and, ideally, online irrigation control.

If she plants sensibly (oh dear, not Becky-style), she doesn't need to be able to control each row individually, but at least per bed would be useful.

She did put a picture of the new irrigation on her instagram. It looked the same but a different colour pipe. Looking forward to a new vlog of boring Josh telling us all about it!!
