I found this BTS clip interesting, it is the guy who is the on-ice cameraman for the figure skating, and he used to be a figure skater himself.

I really like that they’re wearing all white - there was a crash with one of the camera people on the speed skating and I didn’t even realise that they were there as they blended into the ice
Seems a bit dangerous but I’m sure it makes the watching experience better in person
Watching women’s aerials, and I’d completely forgotten about this event. It seems so much less cool than the other freestyle events

how crazy it must be to watch hockey live, it is so fast I can't even follow on screen, with commentary, can't imagine how people follow the game while sitting in the arena. I only watch hockey during Olympics so every 4 years I am in awe of the speed of action

i’ve watched it for years and still can’t work out how exactly they see where the puck is
it’s so fast. i also need the bbc to realise that there are THREE periods because the amount of times they’ve cut the coverage after two so far is crazy.
I am still watching hockey with one eye with the other on my files and writing, but it is definitely interesting at this point

The referree in short track is a memorable person from these Olympics for me - I swear my blood pressure rose everytime I saw him skating to the centre of the ice rink during thses games as he always has a stone face and you never know what penalty he will announce

Oh this looks fun, there is a ski alpinism now, I think it is a new discipline, they ran uphill on skis, there are obstacles, now they are running on stairs without skis and putting them back on to run further, I guess they will go downhill later switching set up of skis so the heel is secured too.

I think it’s based on randonee which is where you walk up the mountain on skis with skins and ski down. But this looks a bit more like it’s using the ski cross type obstacles.
And they have backpacks for competition - I have no idea why tbh, will have to research this
I understand it is a necessity when you are doing ski touring for real, for safety and to carry some clothes/equipment, but for competition? Just to attach skis to it for the stairs part(?) Interesting
