Unfortunately lists are bullshit. I think they're trying to erase the memory of last year when people were abroad and the isolation rules suddenly changed so there was a mad rush back. Thousands got fucked from the government changing their minds on a whim. This traffic light system will be the same if not worse

I don’t understand how you can go on the Tui website right now and book a holiday leaving even tomorrow or Saturday. Are people still booking? Are the flights going? What happens if you book and turn up at the airport? I’m not going to but I’m just wondering how they’re still selling them and if anyone is trying.

Many, many people are still booking. Flights to certain amber destinations are still going. You book and turn up at the airport, then providing you have got all of the correct documentation, then you go on your holiday

I have got 4 free nights stay from Hotel.com that I have to use it up by end of the year, each night worth around £100. It is not a lot, but it is decent enough.

It is a shame that because of work, we couldn't use it up this summer. Initially we wanted to use it at OKU Kos, obviously we had to cancel.

So we are thinking of European City Breaks to go between this Nov and Dec. We don't usually spend a lot on hotel when it comes to city break because we will be out most of the time. We are thinking of Venice, Stockholm, Copenhagen or Amsterdam since the hotels there are naturally quite expensive, so the free nights that I have will help to offset the price.

I have extremely optimistic plans for this year haha.

I spent 10 days in Rome last month which was amazing and we're planning a trip to Amalfi coast in May (or as soon as Campania opens up again).

For my 30th in june we'll be sailing in Croatia, already have that booked and I'm pretty sure there won't be problems with that, then I NEEEEED to go to London as soon as it will be possible (2020 was the first year after more than 10 years when I didn't go and it broke my heart because it's my favourite place in the world), so hopefully this will happen this summer.

And I also hope we'll be able to go to Japan this year - we had to cancel it last march so if things get a little bit better we're planning that for september.

May have to move my moved trip to Poland (for the third time ) to JULY 2021 instead of Feb as they’re now advising visitors just quarantine for 10 days on arrival from 28th December and hotels will be closed and will probably be pushing it if we still go in Feb.

It's the not knowing that's holding me back, I'm quite a planner and I hate it when things are uncertain, it makes my anxiety worse so maybe fir my own sanity i'll hold off a while longer

I’m lucky in a way as I don’t have anything booked to have to keep moving/cancelling but I feel like I’d just be setting myself up for a fall booking something new. I’m wondering if the price of UK holidays is going to be extortionate?

That’s why I’m thinking book now with a flexible deposit before everyone else does

I’ve booked a couple of UK breaks. It involves more than one family though, so who knows. It’s a bit like play pretend at the moment. Made sure they offered a guaranteed refund if restrictions are in place, but I’m feeling hopeful because of The vaccine. We figured book now, pay deposits and hope for the best.

We’ve had a nightmare with Aer Lingus, we booked NYC with them pre Covid. Now my voucher is about to expire so we’ve had to book again for Feb. If it doesn’t go ahead we can get another voucher. My trip has been cancelled that many times, I don’t even fancy going anymore I just refuse to waste the money and they won’t give a refund

My sister and brother in law have Majorca booked in the first two weeks of the school holidays and were praying it didn't go green this week. I think they, like many, are assuming that the green list status will only last a few weeks and now that's Majorca done for after that.

I have colleagues who were hitting the ceiling with excitement about Ibiza being put on the green list ... so they went and booked trips for mid August! I mean, do what you want, but if you can get the leave and you really want to go, I'd be booking to go in the next 2 weeks or so.

I was meant to have been in Thailand for Christmas and New year just gone. Keeping my fingers crossed

I was meant to go last summer to Thailand and we haven't rebooked our flights yet (we have vouchers) - they are opening Phuket I think really soon as a sandbox scheme and hoping to reopen the rest of tourism following that. I'm hoping to rebook for next year sometime too.

Have just come back from France, a few days in Paris and some time in the Champagne region. All very quiet and relaxed and so easy! You need to show that you’ve tested in the last 48hrs or double jabbed at restaurants etc, but no issues at all we just uploaded our nhs vaccine certificates onto the French Covid app. There were literally testing tents all up the Champ-Elysees. It was so quiet and felt much safer than Cornwall did a couple of months ago!

This sides not to bad but trying to sort one from your hotel, trying to find the place etc really puts me off

We have Dubai booked for June. Booked it during the first lockdown but it was such an amazing deal we thought we might aswell book it to secure the price. Our holiday to Italy this summer got cancelled so the refund from that pretty much paid for next summer.

So our Covid holiday to Crete was a roaring success, we are back tanned, relaxed and happy. Apart from the added bit of admin to go and come back it was absolutely wonderful! (Tests and plf checked Greece side to come home but no checks at all getting back into England) Hotel we stayed at had a mask and glove policy in the buffet restaurants and I’d paid extra for a private shared pool so we had allocated sun beds. To be honest I felt a million times safer over there than here.. for anyone worried don’t be Can’t see that they’ll put such popular holiday hotspots like Spain and Greece on the red list as there simply wouldn’t be enough quarantine hotels to put everyone in that are currently abroad.

And they won’t put them green either because Wankcocks landlord will loose money testing is the biggest con going.
