I'm off to Spain next week for a week. They need to bin those PCR tests I don't want to pay a fortune. I'm holding off too buying them. We come back on the 1st October

I booked my flights to Italy as I thought they will probably go up in price. I’ll probably book everything else in a week or 2 once there’s rumours about whether it’ll go red or not

We have decided that our usual month in Las Vegas is a no go again this year. Looks like it will be a short trip along the coast for a few breaks at the daughters in Weymouth. Just hope that 2022 is going to happen.

How’s everyone feeling about holidays? I’m now waiting to be able to cancel my 2021 flights to Florida 🥴 can’t see it happening and if it does I assume it would be and additional £800 for my family to have covid tests to enter/leave.

Looking at uk breaks instead!

Have to admit Iv been browsing for breaks in the U.K. we have had a really bad few weeks and I need something to look forward to. Has anyone else booked for this spring/summer? Any recommendations on companies that are offering refunds if cancelled?
I booked Haven and Center Parcs on Sunday. Both offering a refund or date change if you need to cancel. The refund policy includes if it's a notification from the Covid 19 app, not just track and trace or a member of your household becoming unwell.
I feel like I can really just start looking forward to an 11 day chill out without having a cloud hanging over me about losing thousands of pounds.
Happy searching 👍

I’m honestly not bothered. I just want a refund if I can’t go.

I hate this where the gov puts responsibility on the people like they discourage travel but are allowing it therefore people who cancel can’t get a refund

I think Spain, Portugal and other Spanish Islands will be open mid / late august ... greece, Cyprus , turkey , not so much ,just a hunch tho
I’ve been double vaccinated but still not taking chances .. I do like to think I’d have a long weekend abroad in Spain perhaps later this year
I know Spain is now open to all vaccinated people of the world except from 3 countries (India, Brasil, South Africa) without PCR test anymore. If not vaccinated, you will need an antigen or PCR test or a medical certificate stating you had covid (and are still protected).
The only possible problem for Brits is the mandatory quarantine when you're back from your holidays.

I haven't been anywhere that has scanned it yet however - we flew from and back into Dublin to travel to Spain and they are only doing spot checks (EU has much more open borders than travel into and out of UK). In Spain they made a photocopy of the vaccine cert at my hotel but again didn't scan the QR code.

In saying that, I pre uploaded all my covid paperwork with ryanair so they could have been checking it more formally and I just didn't know!
When we flew to and from Spain you also had to attach your vaccination code to the locator form. I just really wouldn’t take the risk of a faked document.

New York in may and Santorini in June, both pushed back a year from this year. Managed to get to Kos last month so grateful for that

I have Lisbon planned for October which I've rescheduled with airbnb 3 three times already :ROFLMAO:, was originally going May 2020, changed it to October 2020 and then May 2021.... now hopefully October 2021. Had jet 2 cancel the flights twice, so I'm now just going to wait and book them again in June time when we have more of an idea of vaccination rates across Europe. (y)

I booked La Palma for next month. Going to see if I can change it for somewhere else.
Do you know, when we were in Tenerife we got a tour of Teide and the guide mentioned there hadn't been an eruption on Teide in however many years but one was due. The very next day the news started coming through about the activity on La Palma.

I was going to comment this too - don’t want to piss anyone off but flew out to Spain this morning and it was seriously easy and smooth. Lots of admin before so had to be prepared but really no different to normal.
I am in Spain currently and flew from France. In Paris at the airport, they just asked me the QR codes of the Spanish form you fill online before traveling. Arriving to Spain at the airport, they took our temperature and we had to show the proof of vaccination or test (both on the phone). It was fast and well organised.
