The whole thing is incredibly confusing I agree! Total mess and so risky. My huge fear of going to amber list (or anywhere tbh) is doing the test to get back home and having it be positive and then having to quarantine abroad.

Same. Or someone else on your flight or coach testing positive at some point. Also not sure what kind of holiday you would have when you get over there. Or the country you book to go to changing its mind about letting people from the UK in. Think I will have to buy a paddling pool this year and make do

I would say Northern Thailand IE Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai at this time would be ok it’s more if you were looking to go to a beach the weather might not be so great as it’s rainy season.

Does anyone have an upcoming holiday booked with TUI?

We’re due to go to Cyprus on 19th May. Have no intentions of going. It was for a family wedding which has now been postponed anyway. Don’t want to amend our holiday to next year as the prices have increased and it’s a ridiculous amount to pay. Can’t get a refund as it’s after the current travel ban is supposed to be lifted.

TUI refusing to budge. We have until Monday to either amend or pay off our balance, both at expense to us.

If we choose to cancel we have to pay THEM more money to cover cancellation charges according to their T&C’s.

They’re using the lack of government update as an excuse not to amend their policy at the moment but at the end of the day, it’s them that’s going to lose future custom. So frustrating.

I’ve got flight only booked with tui for august 21. Booked before covid so I have no covid protection, and I’m stuck at the moment. They have said if testing is required I could amend my date but only 14 days before departure!

Hi I’m hoping to go to New York either at the end of January or beginning of February and was wondering if you know what tests need to be taken to enter USA? I’m so confused with it all atm, I’m fully vaccinated but I read that that doesn’t matter and we still need to have a negative test before entering the country. Do you know if a negative lateral flow test would be accepted? Also do you have to take a test on day 2 after arriving in New York aswell? Sorry for the load of questions.

Why? What has changed ? Covid will be around for a while and I think Denmark is less touched than Britain, unless you have other informations.

Not sure exactly but just came from Dubai where the rules were even if you were just transiting through the UAE you had to follow their entry requirements - so I’d see what Germany and Jordan ask for.

Is anyone confident that holidays will go ahead this year?

We have an apartment in Krakow booked in September for my sister’s 40th. We can cancel with full refund up to 5 days before so that is fine. We have not booked our flights yet as who knows what’s happening with our governments requirement. Plus, Poland’s cases have been spiralling and they still have the 10 days quarantine requirement in effect. All in all, we’re pretty pessimistic about holidays this year. Gutting as that is.

However, with cases increasing in Europe, US, Turkey, Japan and India as they are... when will “normal” travel return?

Booked nothing but hopeful for a few weeks in Spain then India for about 2 months - back to UK to go to Germany on NY river cruise - January to Thailand for a month then on to Vietnam for 3 months. This is our usual winter and hated this one.

Ryanair, BA and Emirates have discount codes which you can use if you just google it. It will cost a fair amount though especially if they require a test administered by someone else (as was the case when I last flew with Emirates)

Does every country on a green list go to a watch list before it's moved to amber?

I want to go to London as long as we're still green, but the first Easyjet flight is on September 8th so I HOPE they don't move us until then. I'll probably wait and buy the tickets on the 7th if we are still green (I'm fully vaccinated but because my first dose was AZ and second Pfeizer, UK does not accept that so I can't fly from amber country without quarantine ).

Rapid test is enough to enter, right? Does anyone know what's the best option for Day 2 test? I saw you can get one in Boots but it's 85£. How fast do you get a result? It'd be great if I could use it for my flight back home, too.

If anyone has any useful information I'd be really grateful!

Not sure about entry test requirements from Slovenia but we got our Day 2 tests from randox as they were £43 each. British Airways have a discount code you can use.

Not all her information is correct! Green list country doesn’t need 2 x PCR tests when you arrive back, it’s just one! You need one flying out, and one back but she’s typed it as you need 2 x tests once home x

We are due to go to Malta 11th June, who knows!! Waaahhh! Haha

ah really? That’s so annoying that was the cheapest one I could find. Thank you so much for letting me know! Do you know where I can go to see the gov list for PCRs? or if anyone knows what the cheapest acceptable day 2 test the UK allows?

Well I've booked Greece for 7th of August hopefully won't go to Amber plus

We are due to go 19th after 2 previous moves (TUI so won’t refund and original holiday should have been May 2020) keeping everything crossed. Not that it matters for the quarantine it’s the cost of extra testing that’ll piss me off big time.
