I don’t feel at all sorry for her. She chose to live in a gilded goldfish bowl, untold riches in exchange for banging out heirs and wearing couture. I’ll save my sympathy for the women stuck on long waiting lists, in pain and having to hold their lives together.

I mean the way their PR handled this was a mess

I understand why they may have wanted to specify she had surgery if it was discovered it was cancer in the future - wouldn’t be so much of a shock to the public. However, we are used to the RF being a bit secretive and private about these things and that’s okay. There’s plenty of ways they could have handled this in general

Everyone here is to blame really, that’s hardly a shock
Which bit was the mess? The photoshopped picture of a woman who it turns out has cancer is hardly enough to justify the outroar it caused. The rest was the truth though.

People will do everything except take a bit of accountability for the fact they got whipped up and behaved inapproriately.

Ffs...I was just watching the BBC news channel (an interesting little report about life in a village in South Korea, inside the demilitarised zone, just a stone's throw from the border with the North) when a "Breaking News" banner came up, and a newsreader said, "We're interrupting this programme with a breaking news report..."
I logged onto Tattle, kicked the cat off my lap, grabbed my popcorn, only to hear the words...
"A speech from the leader of the LibDems, Ed Davey"

AAARGGGHH...Read the room BBC! No-one cares about the fucking LibDems! Where's Kate??? 😭😭😭

People saying she should have been honest from the start- she has young children who take priority over the general public. They are old enough to catch wind of anything in the media so maybe just maybe she was trying to find a way to tell them first before Karen down the road knew. Fucking Hell.

1st time posting here! but I have it from a very reliable source (went to the wedding close) that Kate is suffering from Bulimia which escalated after xmas due to finding out about an affair in Norfolk. William has been caught out several times and there was talk of a divorce over xmas which lead Kate to be treated for Bulimia.
It's amazing how every single one of these "very reliable sources" has a different story, isn't it?

And how none of them, despite being so very close to the Royals, have any respect for their friends' privacy and pain, and rush to tell all their friends this oh-so-reliable story to post on social media.

Almost as if it's all bollocks.

Maybe William is just struggling mentally and couldn’t face it, I mean heaven forbid a member of the ROYAL FAMILY has a bad day and can’t turn up to an event. In the last few years he’s lost his grandfather, his grandmother, his brother fucked off and betrayed them all, his wife has been in hospital for major surgery and then his father gets diagnosed with cancer. Jesus Christ I’d be calling in sick sometimes too if that’s what I’d had to go through over the last few years.

Wow. My Dad died of cancer last week. I've not cried much, but Kate's video has sent me, I can't stop now.

So that's Kate, Charles and Fergie all simultaneously being treated for cancer? That's a lot for any family to go through.

I'm not delving into conspiracies here, but does anyone else think it's strange that both she and Charles were initially taken in for an operation on a benign condition, then cancer was found? Could it be that the cancer was found much earlier and they came up with a story to give them breathing space while they were in the hospital, while they got used to the idea before announcing it?

God today has been a hard one. Found out a few weeks ago my sister who is the same age as Kate has colon cancer. Been hard to hear all the discussions and find out even the most privileged family has been going through the same thing as us. Hope both Kate and my sister end up being ok ❤

No one has any right to know the specifics of anyone else’s medical diagnosis or treatments.

Sadly, royals aside, It’s the life of a disabled person every day. There is an expectation that visibly disabled people have to tell others their life story.

People may joke “what’s happened to you then” when you are a wheelchair user and they demand to know what’s wrong with you. The information makes no difference to you, you use it for a pity party or to make your life feel better (there’s someone worse off than you).

It happens regularly to my family member who is a wheelchair user. On holiday once, a woman shouted across the restaurant “what’s wrong with him” - none of your bloody business mate.

It’s right they haven’t shared the type of cancer. It’s none of our business, just because they are public figures we don’t have an automatic right to know. We have a right to understand if they are unwell or working / not working, but the specifics, nope.

This thread is everything wrong with the world. It says it was unknown before the surgery. She was obviously quite unwell at the time but it didn’t matter until it was cancer now all those people are oh poor late poor Kate ( rightly so ) but it didn’t matter what serious health condition she had - she deserved the same sympathy.

So according to someone I follow on Instagram (igfamousbydana) Kate has Crohn’s disease and has had to have a bowel resection. She said it’s from a verifiable source in the media. The long time off is to give her time to regain weight, which she didn’t have a lot of to begin with tbh.
If it is true, I really feel for her. Wouldn’t wish Crohn’s disease on anybody. I’ve got colitis and that’s evil enough.
I have Crohns I've had it since I was 26, I'm 53 now, I've had all my large bowel removed and some small, I had to be on the nutritional ward at Hope Hospital Salford and be fed intravenously for a year, everything for me went wrong, it was horrendous, I thought I'd never get home, I'd just had a baby when I got taken into hospital and when I came out he was gone 1 and didn't know me it wasn't nice.

Anyone feeling guilty or bad about the past few weeks, don’t beat yourself up too much. We didn’t know how serious it was, it was difficult to know what to believe and I definitely didn’t think for a second it would be cancer. Bless her ❤
Oh fuck off with this fake nonsense. Does someone have to be suffering from cancer for you to know it's not a good idea to senselessly bully the person and make up insane stories about them?

Awful. Hope everyone who gave her a hard time on that photo is happy with themselves 😔
They all hang out in this thread and coming in with fake tears, don't worry they're very happy with themselves.
