Or.. hear me out.. a woman who has received a potentially life changing diagnosis is allowed to come to terms with it in her own time and make sure her 3 small children are okay before letting the world in.

People will do anything but accept they were part of the problem.

Preventative cancer treatment” is not medically recognized. She says she is well, but reported as “battling cancer”. The king can work and be seen with cancer announcement, but not Kate. Now going on month long holiday after announcing she would be seen on Easter Sunday. Needs more time to heal from plastic surgery. “Cancer” has shut down much discussion as it was intended to do.
You have actually personally offended and upset me (and being a Scot, I'm trying desperately not to swear every second word) with the sentence in bold.

I'm midway through my second year of surviving bowel cancer. Six weeks after my hemicolectomy, I started adjuvant chemotherapy. The NHS website defines adjuvant chemotherapy as to "reduce the risk of the cancer coming back after radiotherapy or surgery" or, as my oncologist called it "belt and braces". In other words, it is to PREVENT the return of cancer if any cancerous cells have been left in the body after surgery or radiotherapy, which is why it can be called 'preventative' rather than the medical term of 'adjuvant'. How bloody DARE you say that my treatment isn't medically recognised.

Chemo varies with the type of cancer and the person. For example, bowel cancer chemo doesn't cause near total hair loss as is common with breast cancer chemo. I also reacted badly to my chemo because I'm one of the percentage of the population missing a certain enzyme because of genetics; it had to be drastically scaled back to prevent lasting nerve damage. I also developed a reaction that they'd never seen before. Just because it's given to prevent the return of cancer doesn't mean that it isn't brutal. Kate could be on a completely different chemo to Charles; his is also primary treatment rather than after surgery. She is also recovering from abdominal surgery which takes time too. Charles is only working from home, doing the office part of his job, meeting one or two people at a time while Camilla picks up all his public jobs.

I'm trying to decide whether the fact that I'm near tears typing this is due more to anger or hurt. Again, how fucking DARE you.

No more vaccine talk, it's totally offtopic and disruptive. Any further posts will be deleted and people risk a warning. Thanks.

I think she's going to have the last laugh.

She'll turn up at easter totally normal, will say she's doing very well thank you and that'll be that.

All the people expecting her to announce she's now identifies as a non-binary chocolate lizard that's moving to north Korea to marry Kim Jong Un will be disappointed.

This is maybe a very stupid question, but I am confused. She said that cancer "had been" present and it was recommended that she underwent preventative treatment.
Does this mean it had been removed and the treatment is to prevent recurrance?

She seemed very frail, but seems to have a lot of inner strength.
I knew I had bowel cancer before my surgery as a tumour had shown up during a colonoscopy. After my hemicolectomy (half my bowel removed), pathology showed cancer cells in one of the 25 lymph glands that they had removed. Both the surgeon and oncologist said that they were sure that all traces of cancer were removed but, as the oncologist described it, I underwent chemotherapy as "belt and braces" to make sure that no cells had spread beyond the lymph gland. It sounds like Kate had surgery for something else, whatever was removed was sent to the pathologist, and it was there that cancer cells were discovered.

I had six cycles of preventative chemo, both infusions and tablets. My hair thinned by about a third but I had no bald patches and still have my waist-length hair. I slept for Scotland, at one point waking up on the sofa with my crochet hook and yarn still in my hands as I'd keeled over sideways between one stitch and the next and slept for several hours. I even slept during an infusion! I had rashes and nausea too - I didn't lose weight because I constantly nibbled to keep the nausea at bay. Twelve months after my last cycle, I'm still fatigued and exhausted. One ankle is still swollen and a rash discoloration left on my leg. Kate will no doubt be exhausted and could well be feeling aftereffects for a long time. Just because chemo is preventative doesn't mean that it's not gruelling. A year on from chemo ending and eighteen months after my surgery, I'm still classed as immunocompromised and getting all the vaccinations going.

Don't expect Kate to come bouncing back straight after chemo ends; it can take a long time after to get back to your normal though her being fit and healthy previously will help greatly. She also doesn't need to personally cook healthy meals so unlikely to get into the cycle of being too tired to cook, eating unhealthily, and then feeling tired because you're not getting a healthy and balanced diet.

PS. I was delighted to wake up in HDU with no stoma so it's not a given that Kate has one.

An absolute disgrace she & her family haven't been afforded privacy the last few months, being hounded by scum with their conspiracy theories etc.

I wish her well.

I've never heard of so many people getting cancer. Every second person knows someone. Both my parents are fighting oral and bowel cancer. These two cancers have increased in the last few years. Very sad. I swear to go I think if anyone had any underlying illness that were dormant, came to ahead quicker with that f#^king vaccine 🙈.
Feel free to come back once you’ve written your peer-reviewed paper that conclusively proves a link between the vaccine and all types of cancer. 🙄 Until then, maybe take your embarrassingly unscientific disinformation to the covid conspiracy thread?

Within half an hour, I saw people on Tiktok saying the video put out of Kate was AI generated.

What will it take for people to just stop?! Leave the poor woman alone, she’s going through enough right now.

Strange the amount of people getting cancer, after having the vax.
Strange, the amount of people getting cancer after going out to the shops.
Strange the amount of people getting cancer who have eaten ice cream and ALSO been to school as children.
Strange of people who get cancer have probably had the common cold at some point in their lives.

OH.
I also heard that 100% of people who get cancer have drunk water all their lives!!!!

Anecdotes do not equal evidence. Correlation is not causation.

Otherwise I'd be running about claiming that 95% of people who haven't had the Covid vaccine have managed to get brain damage and become very stupid instead, based on the garbage they post online.

Unless you have a set of very convincing data replicated by other large studies and peer reviewed by actual experts in the field, it's best not to make ludicrous claims about X caused Y.

Cancer is common throughout human history and cultures and is a set of distinct diseases that are associated with increasing longevity (longer you live the more likely your ageing cells are to spring an error in replication and your anti-tumour gene to also crap out), and we also have a 24/7 news cycle needing to be filled with human interest stories and celebrity news, and a hideously nosey gossipy social media mileau that needs to be fed details of everyone's personal lives constantly which is how we know people who have zero to do with us have cancer at all. A lot of people still don't feel the need to announce it for obvious reasons, not one of them well0meaning numpties appointing themselves oncologists after reading a few internet loon sites and deciding to tell sufferers what caused it and what they should do about it. Or using someon'e diagnosis to promote another pet aganda.

Also, cancer is no longer a taboo subject, due to its increasing curability. Go back even 40-50 years people did not talk about it, it was often not announced in public until after death. The first woman to pose naked with mastectomy scars caused a shitstorm of outrage as breast cancer was among the most taboo cancers to talk about or admit to. Things have changed remarkably in the past few decades with how people talk about this disease and a lot has to do with it being treatable, five year survival rates being the best in history due to pharmacological advances, so cancer isn't shorthand for "If we cannot cut it out, you're fucked, so you will soon be retiring to a room alone to scream yourself raw as the horrifying pain consumes you, even with morphine running through your veins, until you die."

The Princess of Wales shouldn't have had to make that video at all. The vile, obsessive, nonsense people were making up and the odd claims that you pay her 'wages' (you don't, and if you did you wouldn't have the right to see her medical info) ... do people think anyone remotely connected with the state and taxes (which means you as most people receive some benefit from public taxation, whether they are on benefits, teach in schools, have kids in schools, get tax credits, use the NHS, work for the NHS, work for the Highways, use public roads etc) have to show everyone their smear results or mammograms? These people all need to admit they are just rationalising their consuming nosey gossipy desire to know someone's medical details.

See nothing has changed on this thread!

A mother has been diagnosed with cancer and wants to protect her 3 young children and keep her medical history private BUT because she’s a member of the Royal family it has to aired in public. It’s a cruel world we live in

Jesus imagine trying to get through that with a young family, nevermind one in the spotlight, nevermind the bloody tinfoil eejits saying she had tried to kill herself, was lazy, had a facelift, her husband had an affair.
Then having to film that to shut them up, I hope they're fucking happy.
