Nikita's post to Ellie is so heartfelt and speaks volumes about what a lovely guy he is. He's become one of my favourite pros on the show and hopefully he'll be on the show for a long time yet and get his shot at the glitterball.
Early morning thoughts…had the absolute best evening! So so grateful that I got to go!
We got seats upstairs, had a great view of the stage and right above the clauditorium so we could see them all in there. Then once the show started we also discovered the contestant’s warm up area was right next to us… guys Vito was thrusting literally 2 metres away from me and I think I died and ascended. I couldn’t focus on Montell’s dance because I was too busy watching him Jo Jo smiled at me as he walked past and Alijaz came up to us and said hello and asked if we were ok.. he was super sweet. Once
Tasha and Alijaz
got through they also came and sat up in the balcony for a bit to watch.
We filmed the 2 Pet Shop Boys dances first, they were both amazing but we had to record them a couple of times each. Claudia was HILARIOUS, so funny and pulling stupid faces into the camera in between takes. She fluffed up a few lines for the result shows and had to redo a few times. In between the main and results show, Carlos came out and did some singing he is incredible! He did I Will Survive and Fleur came on stage to join in and then he did All I Ask by Adele and Jamie came out to dance with him. They also filmed another dance for the results show tonight which is Argentine Tango.
Chris and Dianne - I’m not a massive Chris fan but I thought it was a great opener dance for Blackpool, classic strictly.
Montell and JoJo - felt a bit stompy, agree it was the shoes.
Sarah and Vito - I absolutely loved it and was surprised at some of the reactions on here. Felt like it was a real crowd pleaser in the ballroom.
Wynne and Katya - shit, but the lifts got a good reaction.
Pete and Jowita - not technically great but again was a real crowd pleaser everyone was loving it!
JB and Lauren - I was looking forward to that but the music felt off and it ruined it for me
Tasha and Alijaz - I loved it more than I thought I would
Jamie and Michelle - AMAZING. Audience were loving it, the feedback was ridiculously harsh compared to everyone else. Jamie is a delight he was ramping up the crowd and you can tell he is really loving this experience.
It was so interesting seeing all the effort and the extra people behind the scenes it takes to make the show, the setting up and taking down of each staging, how they film different bits out of sync, I loved it.
Happy with the result. Was worried for Jamie but really pleased he and Pete got through. Dianne and Chris are doing Paso next week and Jowita said Pete will be in a suit.
Meanwhile in Cardiff a Go Compare insurance rep is calling Vicky to ask. ‘Have you been badly treated in the workplace? Would you like to share your bad experience and bring down this show with me’
Been thinking about if Strictly should go ahead this year and as long as the other pros aren’t like G&G, then it should be fine. Those that are borderline, need to be spoken to, don’t behave and you are out. Although they shouldn’t have to do this, perhaps the dancers need to be told what is and isn’t acceptable behaviour - like kicking, hitting, spitting, aggressive shouting, belittling etc not OK. That celebs are allowed a break and some food during their 8 hr days.
If you need to be TOLD that kicking, hitting, spitting and aggressive behaviour aren’t acceptable you have no business being anywhere near other human beings let alone on Strictly.
