Maybe it shouldn’t but it really bothers me when Sophie uses the term lesbian to describe herself. I understand that people may have had realizations or not realized they were gay until later in life, but if you are still attracted to men and having sexual encounters with men (headboard banger), you are not a lesbian! Terms like bisexual and queer exist to encompass people who have attractions to both sexes. Even if you’re 95% into women and 5% into men, that is still bisexual. I find it harmful to actual lesbians for a bisexual woman like Sophie to use that label. It feeds into the harmful stereotype that lesbians secretly want men or “just haven’t met the right guy yet”.

I’m nearly 40 and a mum of 3 - no fucking chanc you’d see me at a festival now days, however - I’m also an old school raver and spent many NYEs at festivals, dance parties etc. I know Sophie’s type - the older first timer who gets totally munted and euphoric and wants to talk and annoy everyone. She’s acting like she adopted Maddie from an orphanage, not that she was an adult female human with a job. No female sportswomen don’t make huge amounts of money, but she was successful. She also had plenty of friends and family around. Soph helped to increase Maddie’s social media following, but that’s about it.

Wow. Such an empath. Feels so much for people. I have a child the same age as floss and that is such an extreme reaction. She looks so upset and like her boundaries have been majorly crossed (I’m not woo woo and think the term boundaries is overused but Florence is just trying to chill and her mum is trying to get her kicks from strangers adoration). Winning the new thread title feels like what I can only imagine winning a golden globe feels like… but better . Thank you thank you all! I’d like to thank my parents, the snarkers and Sophie’s flap surgeon for doing their best.
