They actually didn't put a very big deposit down, they put just under 10% down and the standard in MA is 20%, most likely they were able to do this because they got a VA loan. They'll be lucky to walk away with £50-60k.
all of this is public information, real estate records are very easy to find in the US.

She's a really thick woman who's only point of difference is that she married a man from another country and lived there for a while so knew she could tap into the interest we have in seeing different cultures on a day to day basis.
