I have to comment… Mounjaro is paid for privately by people. It can transform the lives of people who have and are living with obesity. So much so that it has been approved to be on the NHS for those who could benefit greatly from it. Ultimately taking pressure off the NHS due to less type 2 diabetes, heart failure etc. those people must have a bmi of at least 30 but ultimately aimed at above 40. Whilst I am sure Lorna is on it I personally don’t agree that she has procured through appropriate medical consultation, I support obese people trying to get their lives back. Not those who are a stone too heavy and are doing it purely for asthetics. However people spend money on Botox and face lifts all the time. No one is saying anything about this. It’s cosmetic.
For most who go to Turkey for obesity surgery they do so because the cost on the NHS is prohibitive. I recently listened to the obesity UK podcast, and know the presenter whose life has been severely impacted by obesity and has now had surgery. On the NHS. He met the right surgeon who helped. I’d go to Turkey if I had the balks but I don’t! I know two very close people who have and that’s their choice.
You only hear the horror stories about mounjaro or other weight loss drugs, and surgery abroad. There are far greater success stories. The medication is approved here. Yes something might come up later on but the side effects are clear and listed for anyone to see.
I’m a supporter of obese people, as I am everyone. (Lorna might be the exception

) I want them to have a better life. I don’t want people to die of heart failure as happened to my 38 year old brother.
Sharing far too much of my personal life but mounjaro has made my life so much better over the last nine months. Over 3 stone down and back in clothes I want to wear. Not too quick, and I was in the right range to need it, embarrassing I know, buts it’s transformational.
Just had to share my opinion. Thanks for reading and love to all TITS!
