I suspect she doesn’t get political because she’s not dumb, and she knows that she’s a beauty blogger and is trying to stay in her lane? No one knows (unless she states so) if she donates anything to charity. I know it’s an uncomfortable truth, but the British majority voted conservative this time for a multitude of reasons. I myself did not, but I know people like Fleur and Mike might have done so for reasons that benefit their personal wealth. What really infuriates me, as I stated earlier, is obscenely wealthy bloggers who pretend that they’re one of us, and are hardworking, contributing members of society, when they are doing undisclosed ad after ad. I think Fleur was embarrassed for a long time to show just how wealthy she was, but I find it fascinating now she’s opening up more, as I will never live anything close to that life.

I really like fleur. I feel conflicted by her being in Dubai. On the one hand, i think its technically legal for her to go to Dubai at the moment and i applaude her for not plastering it all over instagram. On the other hand, to try to cover it up-shady?
It most likely best for all that nobody travels during this pandemic. Travelling just increases the likelihood of it spreading.
On the other hand, if Dubai is open ans accepting tourists, then travellers are going at their own risk (getting covid tests before they travel ans then isolating when the get home) and they are helping the economy out there (eg:keeping people employed).
I wont go in to my thoughts abiut Dubai itself. Thats a whole other subject 😒

I’m sure she was going into tier 4 on Boxing Day and regardless of that, she should have realised that it didn’t matter what tier they were in that travelling to Dubai ISN’T essential right now. We’ve all had a rough time and everyone would love a holiday, some sunshine or a getaway but now isn’t the time. If people cannot do the right thing, the virus will keep spreading and this will carry on. The fact comments are being deleted and she unfollowed the hotel speaks volumes. She’s there and clearly doesn’t want to get found out because she knows it’s wrong.

She hasn't even posted it as a new post. What a cheeky shit! If anything she's just coming across as even more manipulative by trying to get around it.

Been following Fleur for 10 years, yes her content and voice is boring and lazy but she seemed 'nice'. Ergh and Mike, what a snobby idiot. Im a lawyer and went to school with Fleur and Mike types. Let me tell you, generally, despite their privileged upbringing and education they are DUMB AS. Arrogant yes, intelligence no. Just well connected. The smart ones are the ones that get decent jobs and can sustain, the dumb ones (most arrogant) take over the family business - like Mike.

Anyways I've unfollowed and unsubbed. Its the lying that I can't get over. I always knew she wasn't as 'nice' as she portrays but the BS about 12.00 Boxing day and needing family time (with just the three of them like usual in their family home), the audacity to upload photo's from home as she apparently didn't want to film content (but did want to scroll camera roll for an old photo to upload) and the 'we tested negative so its ok' was just insulting for me to read. Does she think she is THAT privileged that we would just buy her BS lie. These influencers need to die a death, no morals, no shame and no concern to others.

Whats worse is I tested positive, due to no fault of my own; following the rules, working day and night and yet people like her travel the world, no consideratiom of others, outright lies and they seem to get away from any/all hardship!

I don't like the whole "I didn't post/create content from my trip to Dubai as I didn't want to be insensitive to people who can't go on holiday right now"... how selfless of her. As if! Just didn't want to get caught and deliberately mislead people in order to do so. I thought that part was a bit manipulative. If you're going to admit you messed up, don't then try to spin it to make yourself look good.

The excuse was very weak overall. Then again I think I'm on a different planet to these people.

It’s nonessential travel, plain and simple. During a pandemic where a new virus variant is taking off in the UK. If there is a Dubai trip, it’s selfish and inexcusable. Just because things may be legal doesn’t mean they’re right.

I mean.....in the end she will get out if this unscathed. Yeah she might lose a subscriber or two, but whatever she will say about Dubai (not an apology though, I don't think she will do that), she will get lots of support and sympathy. Followers/subscribers have always been very good at coddling and protecting influencers. Which is how they got to be where they are in the first place: by pretending to be your cool friend, more relatable than a movie star, so you must defend them like they're family even if they f*ck up.

Look at her IG stories- another beautiful PR trip for Fleur. Must be nice.
She gets sent on a trip/hotel stay/event every year by Viktor and Rolf. I couldn’t tell you how many bottles of their perfume I’ve purchased over years. It would be nicer if their loyal customers (you know, the people who spend their own money on the perfume) were able to win a trip like this, rather than see Lady Fleur enjoy another lavish hotel stay she doesn’t deserve and has at this point probably come to expect as a given each year.

Sorry, perhaps it is an unpopular opinion but I really don’t see why Fleur is any better than the Saccone Joly’s or any other family. They both film their children. They both include their children in sponsored ads. They both make money off their children.

The one and only difference is that you like Fleur so she gets given more of a pass. She is doing the same thing - albeit perhaps to a lesser degree, at least for now - and just because she is liked, it really doesn’t change that. Either you approve of influencers using their kids to make money or you don’t, it’s not a case of allowing some to get away with it because they’re better to watch than others.
Fleur approaches vlogging very differently to your bog-standard family vlogger. For starters, she doesn't do it all the time. Yes River is in Fleur's vlogs. But she is literally with her 24/7 right now. She always vlogs this time of year. It would impossible to do so without occasionally seeing or hearing River in the background. River is still too young to be left unattended in another room and Mike goes to work.

To Fleur's credit, most of the time we don't actually see River straight on. She usually gets her from the side, the back, or she gives us a wide shot of what activity River is doing with them. I'm not going to get bent out of shape every time this happens. It's just the struggle that most of us with kids are going through right now. They are always there. As long as Fleur doesn't start making her daughter do tons of adverts or invade her privacy by shoving a camera in her face, expecting her to perform, I can grant her a little grace. Just a little though. ;) If River becomes less of a cameo appearance and more of a main attraction, I'm willing to bet most of will have a thing or two to say about it.

Ah yes, it's the best choice for your child to only socially interact with the same social class and, by total coincidence, exclusively white people. It has nothing to do with "what's best for your child", it's purely based on separating social classes and keeping up the divide between groups. Nothing more. River will grow up in that system for the sole purpose of finding equally rich friends and a rich partner to marry later on. This is not about her education or actual well-being. Nor is it for any other kid that's being sent to private school or boarding schools. At least one of the women I worked for in London was honest about it; she and her husband spent all their money on their kids' private school fees so they could form friendships in higher social circles. I remember her telling me (in front of one of the kids) that there were "many important children" in the daughter's class. Meaning, they were the kids of celebrities, politicians and other wealthy people.

Having said all that, it's the least surprising thing about Fleur and Mike that they would send their daughter to an expensive private school. What else would they do? :-D But I think it's totally ok to voice one's opinion on that :)

For someone who thinks she is so smart, so superior in intellect to her followers (admittedly most of them are thick enough to buy her spiel about ‘waiting’ conscientiously to alter her nose, she is a fool. Any basic idiot would avoid filler/Botox/caffeine/ alcohol if they were truly desperate for a baby.
If she isn’t careful, Mike is going to leave her for a brood mare. I remember how much he clearly wanted a son and how upset he was when they found out they were having a girl. If she can’t produce a male heir, he’ll be off like a shot.
Of course he won't, what a horrible thing to say. He's not Henry VIII. He will be supporting her. It's probably very difficult for him too.

I wouldn't be doing the botox whilst TTC myself but I don't think there's anything wrong with a few coffees. I imagine they are under a fertility specialist by now too who is a qualified professional advising them.

No matter how much we call her out, all her apologies are fake. She is never gonna care, she will do as she pleases but might not show it online anymore. Even if she does an apology video it’s gonna be manipulative in some way. We found out because someone spotted her in Dubai, but what if no one had. How many more sneaky vacations would she have taken in the future or actually have been on in the past ? Looking back , how do I trust her that she has diligently followed lockdown rules as she says she has? How many posts were fake then? Bottom line is she isn’t really getting affected. YouTube isn’t her bread and butter, out of her 770k followers only a few hundred have called her out for this. But sadly her behaviour affects other ppl directly or indirectly but doesn’t affect her in anyway. She can quit YouTube tomo and nothing would change in her lifestyle.

I just saw on Fleur’s Q&A that her and Mike got married when she was 25… that’s so crazy. I know she’s generally quite conscious of not flaunting her wealth too much, but that really got to me - I can’t imagine anyone I know having a wedding of that scale, buying a wedding dress in NYC and buying it its own seat on the flight home and also living in/renovating a house of that size. Don’t get me wrong, I am positively green with envy - I’m 25 and got married a few months ago, except my wife and I had a service with 10 people, got our dresses in the ASOS sale and feel staggeringly lucky to own a draughty 2 bedroom ex-council house. But wow. Knowing by my age Fleur had all that really puts into perspective just how privileged she is.
