Yea exactly, I took pictures on my phone and rang my family etc but the first thought in my head every day wasn’t ‘gotta go on social media’ you want to soak in all those precious memories together (and sleep, lots of sleep!) while you can.

ahh so jealous you had a private room! I was in a ward with 5 other ladies who had had their babies. It wasn’t awful, luckily I was on the end of one of the rows so could pull the curtain round for private time. I remember though there was an African lady and she went for a shower and left her baby and the baby started crying and it felt like it went on forever till the midwives came to check on him. I remember her walking past my bed too and the baby was just hanging off her arm like she wasn’t even supporting him. That scarred me a little bit. Sorry for the story time!
this sounds just like my experience....the indian lady next to me kept leaving her baby unattended whilst she went god knows where and her baby would just be crying! she left her baby for over an hour and the nurses were having to take care of the baby! :O
What does the ethnicity of each lady in both of your texts have to do with either of your stories?

Anyway... I’m looking forward to an update from Carys regarding Amber! Hope they’re doing okay.

I actually think all the comments about being GLAD Carys is on her own in hospital with the baby are awful. I get its fun to bash them on here when they basically ask for it so much but its borderline cruel how much some people wished she would have to stay in hospital on her own and now she has had a bad birth she does.
So many people assuming they know what is best for her but the reality is no new mum wants to stay in hospital for 5 days with their brand new baby after problems with the birth and no support from their partner.

Do we all think she's in labour now? Like for yes, angry react for no. Curious to see what everyone thinks. I feel like she actually could be this time

Come on folks let's not do parent shaming, especially over tiny things.
If James suddenly comes through holding Amber by her ankles then yea maybe comment, but they're first time parents finding their feet, give them a little chance here

James says Amber has a stronger bond with Carys as they’ve been in hospital together.

No James! She’s her mother, she grew her, she birthed her, of course she’s going to have that stronger bond, especially in the early days. It’s like he’s jealous of Carys. I hate him!

And if he says ‘positive’ one more time I will drive to Wales & punch him in the face 😂

Sorry, but, I’m only just watching their vlog now, did Carys really phone James and have him come home because she couldn’t figure out how to give Amber a dose of Calpol?!?! I mean, really?! It comes with a syringe, you literally stick the syringe in and fill it up to the appropriate amount that is written VERY CLEARLY on both the box and the bottle itself. I am honestly astounded by her codependency, it is pathetic for a 25-year-old woman to not even be able to medicate her child without James checking it for her 😧

I agree Carys doesn't look her best in that video, but calling her digusting is unnecessarily harsh.

Edit: agree with those below me that we should keep appearance out of it. It's one thing to comment on her choice of clothes etc, it's another to slag off a heavily pregnant woman as being fat or gross etc, give her a break ffs

I don’t mind the boob pictures, it’s just skin and it’s in the context of feeding her child. It’s not like she’s just showing off her nipples for fun, even then she’d still be within her rights to. There’s still a lot of stigma around breastfeeding and having to cover up so it’s probably helpful that influencers help destigmatize it by sharing their BF journeys. Good or bad.

Her and Amber are staying in hospital.. so that means without James! Think this time will be really good for her and should give her some confidence she desperately needs!

This video enforces why, as a midwife, I always advise women to not stress to much about completing their birth plan especially in their first pregnancy as you just can't plan for how your body will take to it and how you will feel on the day. The bit where she criticises the midwife for not offering her gas and air despite the fact they explicitly asked not to be offered pain relief in the birth plan is so frustrating, we see this all the time. In my experience, the women who are open minded have the best experiences as there's no room for disappointment. These "positive birth hypnobirthing" organisations really set women up for failure unfortunately and this is why so many women claim to have had a 'traumatic' birth, you see it with celebs all the time. And as for James, he just reminds me of a lot of young lads we see that do 9 months of courses and Google research then think they're more qualified than the medical professionals.

Hmmm am I the only one who has an extra room for an office? I would never do a home office sitting in the sofa or at a dining table. It’s very un-ergonomic and not good for the body. We have two children’s bedrooms with a separate bathroom, then a parent’s bedroom with a connected bathroom, then a guest room/office downstairs and a separate bathroom downstairs which also is the bathroom for the open spaced livingroom/eatingeoom/kitchen. Then a separate pantry and a washing room/utility room connected to the kitchen which connects to our garage directly. And a techical room and a storage room connected. There is enough room for privacy, but as a family we want to be connected when cooking and playing. We habe about 12 meters of ceiling height over the dining table cause it is open up to the second floor with a «gate way» connecting the bedrooms. It’s brilliant. Also the whole house has a 3 meter ceiling, which has been so important during lockdown. I would have been totally claustrophoc without!! Everything is ventilated by a ventilation system which recycles the air and warms up the incoming air with the outgoing in case of coldnesd outside.
Are you an influencer ?! You sure gloat like one

Lol my sister has just seen James out in the little Tesco. He offered her to go in front of him in the queue and was surprisingly really nice

Tell me how your 3 metre ceiling has anything to do with this thread 😂

I hate the phrase natural birth. Birth is birth, end of. You don’t get a medal for pushing a baby out of your vaj using no pain relief surrounded by candles and laminated affirmations.

What was ‘natural’ for this baby was to be born with midwives & doctors around using whatever tools/drugs they used.
