Is she trying to keep Daddy in the family?
If she doesn’t let him escort her everywhere he might use it as an excuse to think he is “not wanted” and justify going off with one of his bits on the side.

Tbf at that age or older if I was entering somewhere big (let alone with paps!) Id want an escort for support and confidence. And a protective parent will support.
However, it just looks wrong here in the photo because VB is the birthday girl, on crutches, who should have someone with her (maybe videofootage shows her not solo).
Harper could have walked with VB or even her brothers too.
The Beckhams arrival in comparison to Mel C and Emma Bunton who both look happy. The Beckhams look like they arriving at a funeral
To me it is really shocking at looking at all of the spice girls photos of them at her bash, and ALL of them look significantly younger and more attractive than sulky spice (even loony spice looks better than V).
In her effort to be "effortlessly chic" she looks so much like a "try hard" whereas the others (particularly MC and EB) have "rocked the effortlessly chic look" (to quote the Scum or Daily Heil).
And her continuing over exerting on exercise and her under exerting on eating is really now showing particularly compared to her ex band mates.

That photo of the 3 of them coming out of the car speaks volumes - and not in a good way. VB hobbling alone into her own party. He was never this protective over the boys when they were that age.
The picture of the 2 of them on the stairs speaks volumes too. He intertwines his hands with Harper but VB has to contend with clutching his thumb through a clenched fist.

And poor Harper - did she have to walk round all evening lifting her dress up off the floor. She even had to do it whilst standing still. Why did they give her a too long dress to wear?

Especially your last sentence. And the worst thing is, they can never go back now; they’ve sold their souls for fame and money at all costs. They’re forever stuck in this kind of Truman show life, where they’re selling themselves as a perfect family.
I just know the reality is so different; they all look so miserable and damaged - apart from oiky Dave

She looks like a little frail old granny that's had one too many sherrys at Christmas! She looks awful and so delicate. As you say she pranced let her hair down and had 2 glasses of wine and it's done that to her!

this is what i always think, why doesn’t she walk with one of her brothers or her mum? Men are also allowed to be protective of their wives, or at least helpful when they’re hobbling around injured. Is he still going to be holding hands with her a kissing her on the lips when she’s 14, 15,16?
