I’m a curly girl and couldn’t use a brush on my hair as it would be mad.
Invest in a comb first off.
As for products I used to use curl creme which was fab but either they changed it or my hair changed so it’s not the same.
Was given a bottle of frizz ease for curly hair as a colleague bought it by accident and I am loving it. Put it on when wet, comb and scrunch. Then when I’m getting ready to leave the house spray a little more and it’s great.

Sea kelp makes hair grow longer so you could try that as it's quite cheap to buy. We'll it was, anyway!

I think I tried this many years ago. Worked but I came out in spots. Or there was some annoying side effect
