100% Amen to the post above! To me it's case closed. Regardless of whether him and Yaz were arguing in the car it's been proven that the guy was off his nut. He shouldn't have been anywhere near a vehicle. This is not Yaz's fault and I'm not sure why she's still getting heat for this. Despite her bravado, this will have changed her forever.

I think everyone’s questioned her so much because she tried so hard to profit off of an awful accident and the death of someone! Regardless of how they died or who’s fault it was she was shameless in trying to make money off the incident, she even tried to plug that retreat bull AGAIN and linked it into the accident. The same retreat she tried to plug after saying she had been in a DV relationship and was telling victims they would benefit from her retreat that cost thousands of pounds. All going into her pocket. She’s not a good person! Then she attempted it all over again after the accident. It was disgusting and shameful at the time and people haven’t forgotten.

Shocking how the blame for this isn’t squarely on him. She was silly to choose to get in a car with someone she probably knew was pissed. He chose to get behind the wheel of a deadly weapon knowing he was pissed. What he did was much, much worse. The blame for what happened lies with him.
How do we know she wasn’t also drunk and taking drugs? Sorry if this has been discussed but usually people do drugs together?

Yes of course it’s likely she was drunk/taking drugs but so what? She didn’t make a choice to get behind the wheel of a car in that state.

True, she didn’t get behind the wheel but she got in the car. As far as we know she wasn’t forced to go with him driving. I do think the blame is on him as the driver but I do think she should take some responsibility also because even if she was sober, I don’t believe she didn’t know he was drunk / taking drugs.

Is it a crime to get into a car while drunk/high? What does she need to take responsibility for?

I got pissed and ended up in many different cars in my younger days. I don’t know many people who haven’t done. I have never got behind the wheel of a vehicle while pissed though, that’s different and is the point I’m making.
---
Because you could hurt another car / pedestrian / cause damage and you were knowingly in the car.
Are you telling me you’ve never been drunk and got into a car, did you breathalise every one of your drivers first? Seriously, drunk/drugged up passengers aren’t prosecuted for knowing a driver is under the influence, only the person who starts the engine and drives the car!

I think the OG poster may mean she was on a night out with Jake and they were obviously drinking and doing drugs together. So she got into the car knowing he was inebriated and in no fit state to drive. Or perhaps she too was so drunk/drugged up that she didn’t even think of this.

Exactly and that bears some responsibility. Guilty of a crime no but anyone with a normal brain would have some conscience over that.

Thet were on a night out together they were seen arguing. She got into his car knowing he was pissed & on drugs & was most likely in the same state as him! That's the point I was making!
