We get so invested in their problems and wish them so well, but then their posts end up become unbelievable and we have been taken for a mug
That’s why it’s best to take everything you read on the internet with a very big pinch of salt, I know I do. Anyone can lie on an anonymous forum. I think the MD situation opened a lot of eyes to it. I do think the majority are genuine, but I’d still be wary.

I’m not sure it was fake but does anyone remember the thread where the girl was trying to make out her sister was a bridezilla or something but what she was kicking off about was perfectly reasonable and everyone was like yeah OP you’re the problem and she got mad at everyone and that’s when Mods made the pinned thing at the top of the advice section saying ‘don’t start a thread if you’re likely to want it deleted’ 😂😂😂

I hate when mods lock threads once we start having a laugh because OP was clearly trolling us
Mods probably hate people that haven't got a clue how difficult running "the most controversial forum on the internet is", everyone thinks they can do better 😆

I think it's time to close this if it's turning into witch hunting other threads. Report any posts your concerned with. This isn't Mumsnet where fantasists are encouraged to run wild!

that South African poster from last year. Lesbian alcoholic! Search same sex flirting, it’s a wild ride!!
OMG I had no idea about that thread , but I did wonder where that poster suddenly went :ROFLMAO:

Seriously though, it pisses me off when you are actually concerned and trying to help someone and it turns out you're just being reeled in 🎣

Some of the advice threads follow a similar theme, where the OP doesn't listen to any advice given, and then suddenly their situation becomes worse. So it's easy to become suspicious of them.
People do exactly the same thing in real life, they don't want advice really , they usually want someone to agree how horrible their situation is

I was gutted earlier when the “Neighbours child keeps asking me for food” thread was closed. I knew the OP had gone quiet but I was hoping from a response from them :ROFLMAO:

I love it when the threads take a turn! gives me something to read lol
Same! It’s when you see the tide start turning, all it takes is one person to call bullshit and then everyone else suddenly starts seeing through it too 😂

Maybe I’m a bit gullible but I do tend to believe most of the ones on the advice page. I think (if they are genuine) some people just can’t take the advice - they give all the details but then it just goes round in circles as they don’t really want to do anything that’s suggested.

MD was a wild ride though. I was sat relaying bits of it to my partner who knows pretty much nothing about tattle and he thought I was nuts 😂

I always worry about posting on here incase people think I'm a troll 😂 I definitely don't understand the threads were people just vanish though, I get so invested and we get no conclusion. Also some of the threads were fantastic advice is given but its blatantly just ignored. I vaguely remember one were the OP was cheating on her partner with a work colleague or something? Whatever happened to that one. I wish people wouldn't make up silly threads though, its its for attention or whatever, its weird. Some people have genuine issues and need some genuine advice and it ruins it for those that are genuine because people just doubt them.

I have an hour to kill here before i finish work so I'm going to read some of the threads mentioned again to fill the next hour and get a laugh :m

I must've missed the "I sleep with Tom Hiddleston" thread. Sounds interesting.

They're doing it for attention. Unfortunately most of them aren't very good at it because they end up drip feeding more details which don't add up. That one with the kids climing over the fence for example, the OP said they were going on holiday the week after they posted yet updated that week mentioning that the kids were still somehow coming round. Suuuure.

A lot of people give up their time to offer advice that's well-thought out, without being judgemental, and it's really nice to see genuine people on here. When it goes on for page after page with yet another strange turn...that's when you know it's BS.

About the kid asking for food thread.

I am 97% sure it was bullshit. As, I know if it was me in such a situation. I’d just ask the little girl if she was being fed by her mammy and daddy and anyone who has had kids, been around kids or works with kids will know, kids always tell the truth, even if it’s hurtful. So, it would’ve been pretty easy to know if that child was being fed or not.

I also would have been worried that the child would’ve been picked up by any weirdo as she was willing to walk into anyone’s house in the hopes of food and TV. So, social services would’ve been called on my end. Also the fact the OP was debating calling social services even though she seen the 6 year old child unsupervised in the street in the dark several times.

Like what sort of person are you if your first idea is to ask people online for advice when a child is possibly being neglected, abused and wandering the streets in hopes of food? Either bring the child into your house for safety, home or call the police. Weirdos.

I read the autism one and felt very sad for the person. Maybe these people are lonely and just want to engage with others and feel important/cared for.
On the other hand it's been mentioned a few times about people posting under different profiles and even the profiles having chats and replying to each other. I find that more bizarre.

Maybe I’m gullible but I do tend to believe most things I read on here. Some things I take with a pinch of salt especially when people go into sooooo much detail about their sex lives 🤣

I find there’s a lot of people on here ready to turn a thread into the next same sex flirting thread, trying to call people out. Don’t know why it can’t be ignored if you don’t believe it 🤷🏽‍♀️
