Seeing my kids' gourmet loaded sandwiches for their pack lunch and remembering the days I got sent to school with cucumber and margarine sandwiches.
Ugh same as when we order takeaways and the kids get glorious five guys
I never had anything like that as a kid

Doing really responsible 'old people' tit - planning & attending uncle and dad's funerals last month. Then sorting the contents of uncle/aunts house and readying it for sale, last month into this.

Holding a clutch of LPA's for mum/aunt - being the contact on all boring household 'stuff' such as gas, electric, insurance etc, for them as well as my family.

I'm 2 birthdays away from 50. I don't remember my mum and dad doing this for their parents as young, certainly not for aunts/uncles. That said, my aunt had no kids, and my uncle did everything financial/household. Its been relatively easy as they hoarded bills etc right back to the 70's, so it was just finding the more pertinent ones that still had a relevent purpose.

It'll be a relief when the aunts place is sold as its the other side of the country and sorting stuff 'remotely' is a ballache even with a top notch next door neighbour who can pop in to 'rescue and send' stuff.

It's a bit of a moment when you realise you've become the grown up and the roles are reversing.

No experience in life has made me feel old like my dad dying did. I was in my 30s, and he was in his 80s ,and the experience of am elderly person on end of life took a bit innocence away from me.

Asked for pipe cleaners in DIY shop and I don't think the assistant had ever heard of them. Though most people now have never seen anyone smoking a pipe.

Hi 👋 another member of the older Dad club here! Lost my Father 5 years ago when I was 30 and he was 81. Still get a punch in the gut that people get 20+ years longer of having that support system 😢 life's never ever the same is it?

They should put Shampoo and Conditioner in massive print on the bottles. I’ve wasted so much conditioner because I may pick that up first. Not even squinting helps anymore 😅

When you see your kid one day and realise he/she's taller than you. The time flies by in a jiff.

My work 😂 at the ripe old age of 35 I'm one of the oldest persons there, with the oldest person a shocking 39. The way you hear the younger people carrying on about having turned 27, you'd think the undertaker was already on the way.

Three people I work with haven’t heard of Linkin Park. I feel old at 34.

You’re in your 30s! You’re bloody children, the pair of you. Honestly.
