Reading that Joan Rivers died 10 years ago. If someone had asked me I’d have said 4 or 5

It's awful the teacher would be so dismissive.
It's surely not so unbelievable that a 10 year old could have grandparents who are in their late 70s/early 80s?!
My children are older now, but I'm 51 (so could still be the parent of a 10 year old) and not only was my mum born during WW2, my dad actually fought in the war! (and his father was a Marine in WW1).
My Dad fought in WW2 and he and my Mum married just before war broke out. They went on to have 9 children over the years and I am the youngest of that lot.

My mum gave birth to me when she was 46. I am now 59 and they are both long dead.

Went for a swim this week, it’s been a while, I used to go with my stepdaughter who’s now nearly 30 so 15 years ago. Could do 30 lengths, no problem then (bit of a slog but could do it) … and although I do lots of walking, some home exercise sessions, 20 lengths was so much harder and my legs were wobbly afterwards! Probably not that surprising, I’m 62 now, but it just brought it home to me that you don’t have the same capacity you took for granted.

The dog just chewed up my favourite clothes peg and I died a little inside at the sudden realisation that I actually had a favourite clothes peg.

Standing in my kitchen at 7:30 on a Friday night debating whether to have a can of coke or a cup of tea. Or have the coke, then in an hour or so have the tea. But then will I sleep? Will I need a wee in the middle of the night? Will needing a wee wake me up at 5am?
I’m sure it was only a couple of months ago I was drinking wine at 7:30 on a Friday, thinking about having a shower and getting ready to go out around 9:30/10. What has become of me?!?

Along those lines, generally thinking about not drinking too much of anything because of needing a wee and the toilet availability.
Unless at home, obviously, but still, too much liquid, bladder hazard.

It’s awful when you see them in programs when they were much younger then they are interviewed in present day and look about 100

I always liked fool Van Dyke and he had that show where he was solving crimes with his real life son
( bit of mindless fluff) Diagnosis Murder he looked good for his age
Omg then they did some promo for Mary Poppins and he looked like he had been dead 10 years and then dug up

I got annoyed at these 2 teenage girls in Sainsburys earlier, giggling in the wine aisle. I realised how miserable and Victor Meldrew like I am at the ripe age of 31 😂

My favourite actor (crush) is Al Pacino, saw "The Godfather" and I was hooked.
Watched his recent interview on iPlayer, he was very articulate, gave interesting replies but I was disappointed that he wasn't better dressed, allowances made for the fact that he's 84, didn't expect a suit and tie but he really didnt look very smart. Anyway, I'll hang on to Al Pacino circa 1972-2000!

When your teens feel like just a few years ago in your head, then you look at actual photos from that time and how dated the fashion was and how basic the gadgets were, how smooth and clear your skin used to be, and you realise the picture in your head doesn't match the reality :ROFLMAO:

Yeah I mentally don't feel that far away from being a teenager when in reality I'm about as far away from it as I'm away from people on their 50s. I'm actually refusing to accept that teenagers don't see me as one of them haha I still feel down with the kids (I'm not 🤣)
