What is an online troll?

The problem with some of these so called influencers is they cannot tell the difference between a troll and someone having a different opinion to them. If you disagree then your comment gets deleted 🤷‍♀️
Very recently a certain influencer whom is well known received a nasty message about her child's appearance. Rather than deleting the comment she decided it would be fun to show her 3m + followers the message and her name, they started having a go at this person and sending death threats.. It had since been reported although not confirmed that this lady has since been sufffering with her mental health and is receiving treatment. Alot of these influencers who are represented by a management team are not very well managed or just plain stupid.

Some of these influencers makes so many posts and include their family constantly as they can make more money and get gifted free items off the back of them by including their children on the gram. Yes you are going to get jealous people, but for people who comment about someone's appearance thats a no no for me.

Today another influencer made a post about how sad she was feeling regarding Caroline Flack and in the same post she was doing an AD for a household product.

I feel like a troll is someone who continually harasses someone PERSONALLY; trying to provoke a reaction by saying nasty things simply because they can.
I come on here to gossip about certain ‘influencers’ because I’m sick of their bullshit and dishonesty. It pisses me off that they’re never held accountable when essentially they’re a business. I would never ever just private message hate to someone (anonymous or not) but I WILL talk tit about them on here if I feel they’ve done something I don’t agree with.

to me a troll is someone who tags the person in a post ie and attacks them personally or makes remarks about their appearance..... ie your are so ugly.... why don’t you kill yourself, go ahead and die... I hope you get cancer etc....deliberately baiting or poking them... I’ve seen those sorts of things and it’s physically made me feel sick.
i do see a big difference between that and having an opinion on someone or on their morals mainly for my part I feel social influencers get away with a lot of tit if I see them advertising skinny coffee, detox teas, 21 buttons etc and make money from it then they should be criticised for it equally if they say their job is a social influencer they are fair game... if they make money from what they do they are fair game.
I’ve seen a lot of bad behaviour from these social influencers who think the world revolves around them ... they work tirelessly for your benefit to tell you all about these products, for getting you codes so you get the best deals ( no you don't do it for my benefit it because you earn a living from it )
equally if they have posted something one minute and something else the next call them out on it ....
Are we all just meant to ignore all of this and allow them to hoodwink younger easier to influence people so they make money from them.

What do people think about influencers saying their main objection to their threads on Tattle is that they are easily seen on google? Genuine issue or smokescreen?

In other words is it that this site exists at all or that for a lot of them it comes up in the first page, sometimes above the fold, when you google just their name?
I do think most of the time there’s no smoke without fire. If the influencers who are complaining about this were not controversial then they wouldn’t have a thread on here / would have a rave thread, so it coming up on Google would not be an issue. You can’t blame others for the consequences of your own actions

I also think that it’s a stupid argument that it’ll damage their reputation / put brands off of working with them for the same reason. Most people don’t know what Tattle even is, if they see the search result they’re not just going to draw inaccurate conclusions, they’re going to click on it and read up on the drama and see the receipts. Again, you can’t blame people for the consequences of your actions

Also I think Tattle and other gossip websites are usually the ones that get judged, not the influencers. People who don’t use these sites assume we’re all slagging people off and being mean for the sake of it, but most of what I’ve seen is genuine and fair criticism. Influencers don’t want their deluded fans to click on the site and discover what it’s really like (and also what they’re really like), that’s why they don’t want it coming up as one of the first results when you Google their name

Which one?

I feel that intentionally messaging someone with a nasty personal comment is trolling so I might say on here that someone's outfit is ugly but wouldn't directly message them. I try and be mindful when writing on here not to be too personal about something someone can't change ( sometimes I fail at this lol) I have read comments on here that I feel are uncalled for but really its not up to me to decide where the line is for people.

I think it depends on the Influencer. For instance there are many that don’t court controversy to further their accounts that get gossiped about here. That may understandably feel like they are being attacked. Though there are some, one or two in particular who use what’s said on this website as content. Why they do that is beyond me. They have turned ‘trolling’ into their USP and actively behave passive aggressively. It’s hard to defend when your aware of their hypocrisy and real life behaviour that their ‘fans’ haven’t seen. Then you find yourself here in frustration more than anything

I would say a troll is someone who messages the person via twitter/IG and says nasty things. I don't think writing on a forum is trolling nor is calling them out for their shadiness and lies.

I’ve had trolling

i was told I’m fat, ugly,my kids should have ’been swallowed’and ‘sort your bleeping teeth out’ (nothing wrong with them)

also told I’m thick cos I don’t drive (neither did she) I should wear make up (I do) then told I shouldn’t cos ‘nothing will cover up your uglyness’

this went on for over two years-I’d block-she’d make up another account-and get her mates to do the same

endless phone calls and emails 24/7-I’d change my number/email-somehow she’d find them out-I blocked the number-shed use another one

my address/phone numbers/workplace/kids schools where put up online

i lived in fear of something happening and ended up on tablets for my mental health

much much more-the police where useless due to this person playing on a little girl act and playing on her disability (which is a very ‘low’ disability-as in she could work but chooses not to)

that’s not fine

ive also had a difference of opinion with people which isn’t trolling-it’s people having a different point of view to me

thats fine-it’s what makes the world go round
