What did you splurge on?

Just like the title suggests. Aside from a car, a house or a holiday, what’s your biggest splurge?

For me it was some scented Vivienne Westwood shoes that were like these in the pic. They absolutely CRIPPLED me, I bought them in two colours and sold them later on eBay 🤦🏻‍♀️

Wooden shutters throughout our house - the white interior variety. I figure that they'll increase the house's value as they look so neat; plus, they're a lot harder wearing than curtains. Oh, and solar panels! So we can generate our own power and continue on our desire to become self-sufficient. Sorry, boring stuff!

Skincare. I honestly have every moisturiser / oil / cleanser / eye roll etc known to man 🤣 it’s probably cost me thousands but I also have great skin and really enjoy my skincare routine so 🤷‍♂️ 🖕🏼

Couple of years ago I spent shitloads of cash on a new shed, replacing the 30 year old knackered one.

I splurged nearly a grand on a chair that I’ve never even sat in. It just looks so nice in the reading room bay window and adds to my goth gentleman’s club vibe perfectly. My big splurges are always travel or house stuff, I just can’t help myself 😆

Clothing? (I'm 66 so not a fashion follower) Over the years I've bought shirts from Gieves and Hawkes, wonderful cut and quality. Shoes? Church's, last a lifetime. Barbour jackets and I love high quality woolen clothing. I still get up into the hills so use good quality kit from people like Berghaus, Rab and Montane.

Just bought two new vehicles and at my age there's a good chance they will be the last ones I buy so we pushed the boat out a bit.

Self sufficiency is not boring. Do you own land or are your talking about going off the mains services grid?

My biggest splurges are designer handbags 👜💖
I am with you, sister 😁

Though we do spend money firstly on the house, we recently had an extension. The splurges are mainly mine from any disposable income I might have. House and bills first, boring I know 😆but I live in fear of being penniless 🥴

Maybe my wedding next year. It’s a pretty average priced wedding for where i live, but it’s still costing a fair bit.

other than that, maybe getting my house done up? I’ve spent a fair bit renovating it, but I’d say the composite front door is probably the biggest thing we’ve overspent on, as a Upvc probably would have been fine!😂

I don’t do designer handbags or shoes. I’m not girly really.

I splurged on a new iPad! Not like me, I’m not too fussed about tech but it’s so fast, good battery and I can’t believe I struggled on my phone before!!
