It’s interesting that you say this as my optician this week told me I have severe dry eye which is causing blurriness rather than my prescription like I thought. He just gave me eye drops to use 8 times a day for the next couple of months and didn’t say anything about supplements. Definitely something to look into!
What drops do you use? This sounds like me but my optician just bumps up my prescription every time (I’m going to go to someone else next time)

Hello, just wondered if anyone has tried spirulina or chlorella supplements, and did they notice any differences? I’m definitely a sucker for Instagram adverts 😬

Hello hoping to revive this thread! I’ve always had low iron but atm it’s so low, just had tests yesterday and the range is 10-300 and mine is at 16.5. I take a multivit and iron tablets but clearly I’m not absorbing it. I need to ring the GP to discuss the results but just wondered if anyone recommended anything for increasing iron levels substantially please? I feel exhausted all of the time, I’m quite pale and I do suffer with light headed-ness.

Did you have a b12 test aswell?. My understanding is that they don't test this on a general blood test.

I have low b12 and when I don't take it I am so so so fatigued. No energy, brain fog and just all around fed up. Such a difference in taking it.
No I don’t think they did as I was sure they didn’t test for that either. I’m thinking I’d I go for a B complex then all bases are covered. Would you recommend just b12?

Recently had a blood test and it’s come back normal. Woohoo. However I have had the worst fatigue and brain fog so I’m looking to take vits and supplements. I’m thinking high strength vitamin b complex, 2000 vitamin d and high strength magnesium. I don’t have a clue where to start though!

Anyone tried the viral acv gummies?
I used to take shots of acv for a long time and it never did anything for weight loss/bloating. Is that what you’re asking for? It’s supposed to help with other health benefits like lower cholesterol, help with insulin sensitivity. I stopped bc I was concerned with ruining my tooth enamel and throat bc of acidity.

Here’s an article about it:

I’m wary of any health trend on tiktok. So much is not regulated by the FDA in America so it’s like the Wild West. I’m all for food trends and fashion trends but most health and fitness things go unchecked and are usually by people who are not professionals and influencers who get paid to tout.

When I was a vegan I was soooo on it with my supplements - I was on a multivitamin and collagen, and used to put nutritional yeast on everything - but since I’ve started eating meat again I proper let it go. I should start up again really. Anyone got any good recommendations for gummy vitamins? I always forget to take them nowadays unless they are effectively a sweet

I’ve been taking an iron complex, vitamin d3, turmeric supplement & a few other vitamins as I’m in the same boat really, my mental health has been horrible & I’ve sort of really let myself go. A family member recommended taking some vitamins as my immune system is generally rubbish & I have a few problems with my stomach etc

I’ve been having this constant overwhelming feeling of fatigue / tiredness no matter how much sleep I’m having & it’s driving me mad. I can wake up at a decent time & an hour later I feel like I’ve had absolutely no sleep & could just knock out.. I’m confused tbh because I would’ve thought taking an iron complex (folic acid, b12, iron, vitamin c) would’ve helped a bit? I’ve been taking these now since well before November but I’m not noticing any change whatsoever, absolutely shattered all the time & I don’t know what’s wrong 😩😩. My hair is falling out so bad (I put shampoo in my hair and huge clumps are falling out, no matter what I use!!)
I just absolutely hate myself lately because I feel so lazy/worn out when I wake up & an hour or two later I feel this intense feeling of tiredness never experienced anything like this before lol
Definitely get your bloods done and take this with a pinch of salt but it kind of sounds like hypothyroidis (really common btw). Hair loss, fatigue, and depression are all symptoms. It would show up in a blood test as well as any deficiencies (eg vitamin D) and other things it could be

Has anyone taken Taurine? A friend swears by it but I tried it recently and felt unwell and jittery all day afterwards; which is the opposite of what it’s supposed to do!

Searched for this thread and surprised to see the dry eye talk because that’s why I’m looking here! Has anyone found anything that helped since they last posted??

I’ve ordered lutein+ and vitamin A as apparently they help with eye health and a website I found had them on sale. I’ll probably have to go back to hycosan drops again. I bought the second most expensive ones when I went away and barley used them but now can’t find them.
---
I want to add have you all tried hot eye masks for your dry eyes?? That I remember did seem to make a difference for me when I used to do something about my dry eyes. Seems to have got worse again recently so going to start doing more. Have to start the heat eye masks again.

Yes!! Ive been meaning to post in here to say that the Hycosan Extra definitely makes a difference! I use them a few times a day.

I’m trying to be on my phone less (not that’s it’s really working) but I don’t think you blink as much when staring at a screen, which makes your eyes more dry.

Haven’t found anything else though. What are the heated eye masks?

Hair care wise I use body shop Shea range. They do minis so it isn’t a huge outlay to see if it suits your hair type.
I have started taking super green powders and capsules which replace your five. Day . I use the next gen u range from Amazon. I also take their mango energy vitamins which I buy from eBay but not their eBay store as their cs is rubbish. I have noticed my skin is a lot fresher and brighter in the past month and I have more energy.
Good luck with your health kick.
I also use the next gen super green range and feel much better when I have taken them for a few weeks .

Has anyone tried Alforex probiotic? I’ve been recommend to try a probiotic to help balance my hormones which is possibly leading to my cystic acne

I always used a microwaveable one but I just read that an electronic one is better as the other kinds lose the heat too quickly to be effective. I’ll have to look into an electronic one

My gp reckons it takes at least 6 months for certain vitamins to work,
Looks like I’ll be trying this for a bit longer then 😂. But yes, I’d heard this - my dad is on thiamine therapy for korsakoff syndrome at the moment - he’ll be on the supplement for life now - but it’ll take 6 months or longer to get his levels relatively normal.

Don't want to give you false hope as our skin is all so individual, but cutting out milk made my acne manageable to the point of gone. I still have a lot of blackheads and oily skin, but a bit of tinted moisturiser and I'm good to go.

Has anyone tried Lion's Mane supplement in either powder or capsule form?
This may sound silly but did you completely cut all dairy products out or just stopped milk in cereal, tea, coffee etc and replaced for an alternative? I don’t know if I can live without chocolate (I’m aware this does not help acne)
