I wonder when the rest of the classes are as well, having one at say 10am then one at 11pm would be absolutely awful!
this must create such a disadvantage/advantage for some groups. ie if you happen to be in a time zone where it is 5pm, sutely you (of course depending on personality etc) will be more alert than someone at 11pm?

Not really a surprise that they end up prioritising partying/going out over some of the work. Ending at after say 7PM and then going out just doesn't seem that appealing.
Ugh waiting for the inevitable ‘Jade at berghain’ where she pisses off a bunch of ravers minding their business by telling them about the natural high of ✨casual magic✨

There's a Minerva manual I read once and they have an alcohol ban in all their accommodations, regardless of the drinking age of the city you're in. I don't reckon much partying goes on.

Imagine being made to stay up til 10pm to do a class and you can't even pour yourself a large glass of wine to recover afterwards. Criminal.

that must be quite risky as I bet they monitor their social media!
Ooh on the social media point. I found the Minerva manual I was talking about - link here. If you jump to the section “Guidelines on Anonymous Postings on Social Media”, they have a whole weird spiel about how one of their principles is ✨Being Authentic ✨, and how they don't want Minerva students to vent using anonymous accounts. Understandable if it's an anonymous account being used to target a student... but what I think this rule is actually getting at is that if you criticise Minerva anonymously, and they find out, you can be punished. Which is actually pretty insidious - what university has this kind of rule? Why should students be punished for venting about Minerva, anonymously or not?

wow! that's insane! i wrote on the dinara thread that is weird that she hasn't acknowledged all the crap that minerva has done to her but maybe it's just she's afraid of telling the truth and getting expelled? that is CRAZY, what kind of institution does that? not a university, but a cult!

Yeah, my university takes most criticism on board and tries to do better.

Here's a refreshing take on Minerva:

I did a month abroad last year - loved it and it was amazing but the thought of trying to get used to a new country every few months sounds terrible.

I went to Denmark, so I only ever met one non-English speaker (86% of the country speak English as a second language!).

But getting used to things like supermarkets was so tough since that was all in Danish. I got used to it eventually but doing that often would just be annoying.
Bus stops were super confusing too, it’s the little things when you’re actually living somewhere briefly.

They can't be that confident about their practices if they're this insecure about stuff getting out.

wow! who is this from? (I didn't read it all tbh, but even just imagining doing random lectures at 11pm, then 9am.... my mental health would suffer badly. it is soooooooooooooooo detrimental

I read it moving as much as you do with Minerva would be annoying as you’d be getting a handle on one language and then because Minerva is so magic and special they move you and you have to start all over again.

Thanks! that is exactly what I meant!
Getting used to one places particular language, currency and customs every few months is difficult. A full year in each country would really let yourself learn in my opinion.

Her newest video is ridiculous.
"We are in quarantine for 2 weeks," -cut to outside Aldi- "so we went shopping!!" WTF, GET IT DELIVERED.

Quarantine does NOT start whenever is convenient for you.
