True Ghost Stories #2

Not a ghost story as such, but probably of interest to anyone interested in mediums! I went with some family to a medium night a few years ago.

the guy was called Les Henderson based in the north east.

Would 1000000% recommend, he was absolutely spot on and so specific.

He spoke to a lady near us about her deceased husband, who he said he sensed “wasn’t always nice to you all”, he knew that the husband had fallen out with their son years ago because the son came out as gay. He knew this husband had spent some time in prison and what for. It was sooooo accurate and not vague at all.
He knew another lady had lost her son in a car accident when he was only tiny.
He came to our group as soon as he made eye contact with me, and described our grandma absolutely down to a tee, and I know everyone will say this about their relatives but she truly was one of a kind, not a typical “grandma” character

He’s the first and only medium I’ve been to. I don’t want to go to another one because I’m worried they’ll be rubbish I keep looking out for upcoming dates he’s doing near us

also open to any other recommendations of mediums if we are allowed to share them?

Not ghost related, but a bit weird I think. So...I have spent the past few days reading this, and the previous thread. I read this comment a few days ago, and it struck me.

A few years ago, I had a vivid dream that felt real. I had this dream a few times where I was living in central London a long time ago (possibly 1700s), I could picture the walk there through the streets and the whole row of houses and where my house was on the left-hand side. I clearly remember walking to my house, and how it looked inside, it was a beautiful row of houses. So, I actually have this thing called Aphantasia (where you can't visualise), but I can dream 'properly', but this I always remembered so clearly.

I have never done this before, as I just considered it a dream but I got on google Maps on Sunday night and took a little street view 'walk' in central London to the spot where I knew I had the dream (in Westminster). I literally gasped as I saw the exact street and the houses, 100% as per my dream - location, look and everything. I decided to google the street name to see some history on it, and this is where it gets weird... the street was owned by this family for hundreds of years from the middle ages. I instantly recognised the surname of the landowners.
I have been doing our family tree for years and have got sooo far back - to the 9th century at some points. Very lucky to get so much info, there is royalty, mistresses, dukes and gentry in there so it had lots of records. Not sure where it all went wrong

Anyway, I went onto my Ancestry account after seeing the name and lo and behold, the family who owned the land / built the street is from my family tree.

My mum is Welsh and we jokingly call her the Welsh witch as she can predict and knows a lot of stuff that is unexplainable. She says she could have 'gone down the path' of seeing stuff but decided not to.

I feel that’s like me. Not the Welsh bit

But I have often been able to ‘see things’ when I close my eyes, just before sleep. A lot of it isn’t nice though, so I decided I didn’t want to go that route and asked it to stop. It mostly has, unless I occasionally catch myself having a crafty go at looking and then it comes flooding back. But as soon as I ask it to stop again, it does. I’m not explaining this very well.

What I have seen was mostly fragmentary like it needed ordering properly to understand it. Experience and training, I guess. But it felt like not a nice path for me to pursue because it felt like there were entities involved , so I still have a sort of block on it. Which I plan to keep

My Dad is a painter and decorator. He often works overnight painting for various companies and businesses after hours when everyone has gone home. He has had lots of unexplained things happen to him whilst working and I love hearing about them. Today he was telling me about a time he was up a ladder and someone/something pulled his leg really hard. Thankfully he didn’t fall but he said it was a strong pull! Another time he was painting a hallway opposite a disabled toilet. He heard a noise and when he turned around he saw the handle of the toilet door go down and the door open. He said he was really confused and assumed a cleaner had come in or maybe his boss to see how he was getting on however the door then slammed shut. He went over and opened it and of course there was no one there! A few times while painting he has suddenly been hit by freezing cold air that has made the hairs on his arms stand on end. After 10-20 seconds the temperature has returned back to normal. I must add that despite everything that has happened to him my dad is a complete skeptic. He doesn’t believe in ghosts. He admits that he cannot explain any of it but it’s not ghosts apparently

I'm not sure why I am writing this as I am currently at work now. So I work as a telephonist in a hospital and out of hours I work alone in an office. I always lock the door as I have had randoms try to get in in the past and was always told its for our safety. We used to have a psych ward here and at times there would be patients wandering.
Anyway in my office there is a room behind where I sit that houses all the hospitals fire alarm systems. Its a big room with little alcoves. I always get bad vibes from that room. I cant tell you how many times I have sat here and felt like someone was stood behind me. There is also another office in here that was originally part of that room and I have to go in there several times during my shift as that is where the printer is. Just like the room behind me, it feels like youre disturbing something in there. Like there is someone in there who suddenly realise you are there. Just a weird creepy feeling.
I noticed it as soon as I finished training and it seems everyone who works with me feels the same way about the office and back room. I was training a new lady one night and took her into the back room and we both suddenly felt so anxious that we practically ran out. The room locks from my side and I will always make sure it is locked at the start of my shift. Several times I have felt that uneasy feeling of someone behind me and will go check the door to find it unlocked. It doesnt help that we have lights that go off when no movement is detected so occasionally I will be plunged into darkness.

I also get the same vibe upstairs in my nannas house. It's a big house and my nanna has a bedroom downstairs so nobody goes upstairs unless she has people stay over. It makes me so anxious if I go up there. I often have nightmares about her upstairs and how I am looking out one of the bedroom windows into her garden and waiting to see something peek out behind a big tree she has. As soon as I realise I am dreaming of her upstairs I have to try and wake myself up. Nothing really happens, just me looking out the window trying to see whatever is behind the tree. In my dream I feel like I'm gonna be stuck in that nightmare if I ever see what it is.

I do the same! Mine is also fragmented. The best way I can describe it is like watching something on fast forward or flipping through the pages of a picture book really quickly. But I don't want to block mine, I want to learn more about it and work with it.

Went to see a guy with some co-workers years ago. I don't remember his name but I do remember he made a point of telling us that as he worked through the session his arm would start to seize up. By the end it was very twisted with his hand sort of locked up by his shoulder. (I don't know why he said it did this, something to do with the spirits, but this is more just in case anyone wants to look him up.)

Anyway, he seemed relatively accurate in what he was saying, but didn't have anything for myself or my colleagues.

Right at the end though, he started talking about whether someone had lost a son.

My manager, who was sat in a row in front, suddenly sat bolt upright, raised her hand, said "yes, I have." Her voice was shaking and a few of us were quite shocked as we'd never heard about this before.

He was very enthusiastic, she started to get lead along with it... and he suddenly said

"Oh wait, I'm sorry, it's not you I need to speak to. It's this woman over here." and turned to someone else.

She left as soon as it finished and some of the other managers were walking her to her car where she was obviously very upset.

Someone told the rest of us that she'd sadly lost a little boy to stillbirth.

I know he probably had reasons for what he did but I can't get past that, it just seemed like an unbelievably heartless thing to do to someone. I've been very skeptical of the motives of a lot of "famous" mediums ever since.

That’s really sad. A similar thing happened with a medium I went to see a couple of years ago and she explained what sometimes happens in those situations: She said that mediums will often start to receive fragmented and quite ambiguous messages from the spirit in question and as they’re talking to someone in the audience, they can then start to receive more accurate information. They then apparently realise by a strong feeling or by being suddenly “told” by the spirit that the message is for someone else (in a certain seat, for example), or that they’re talking to the wrong audience member, etc. The medium that I went to see actually apologised for this uncertainty and for the fact that the accuracy of messages can be unpredictable, so they may seem relevant to more than one person initially. That doesn’t really help someone who is grieving however, especially as they will likely feel that their message was taken away from them, but it may offer some explanation as to why some mediums do that, at least.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just watched it and really enjoyed it. I couldn’t quite work out how the Phillip Experiment fitted with this case, it felt they were shoehorning in a theory that didn’t quite fit. I’m looking forward to the next one.
