100% agree with this! It's pompous travel stuff which promotes his over inflated ego. He never really changes the format of 'Moet, DC, kick off the Tims, caviar' and that ridiculous smug look when he slows down the camera on his face. He is clearly a Narcassist and lives a privileged life, after all how many of us can afford £20k holidays? He will run out of ideas soon but how he gets millions of views everytime is beyond me
Why the algorithm favours him is what I can't work out. He does nothing different to than many others, and some do it better (especially the train stuff). I can only think his (questionable) behaviour during the pandemic gave him a jump on the algorithm when no one else was travelling.

He says he focuses on luxury travel, which is fine, but he actually doesn't provide any real insight or experience as to why. He just likes living the high life and has got lucky with the algorithm supporting him.

That smug smirk/smile he does is by far the worst thing he does. Its so off putting.

His views on YouTube are insane compared to other travel channels and he must make a fortune! 2 million views to most video's and he promotes loads of stuff. If I was earning his money I would make sure I had some better clothes on than a Nasa hoodie.

I used to really enjoy his channel and now it seems all comped luxury experiences which gets super boring.

I think it's sweet he brings his parents along sometimes though. I would too.

One of the few positive aspects of his channel. If you’re on the YT algorithm gravy train, why not bring your parents along for the ride occasionally?

His Mum and Dad seem OK to be fair, he has turned out a little spoilt bratt! God knows what his girlfriend sees in him, other than his bank balance?

(New video on JAL First)

”I’m sure as you’ll have guessed by now we’re off to Japan.”

Was unaware the luxury travel genre was going after the preschool demographic. Also he has a line in his description “As usual I paid myself for this ticket (🙄), and there’s a full breakdown in the video how I purchased these.” Second travel vlog after Jeb Brooks in the past week to mention saving money by flying out of Bangkok (First video mentioned it was a Sam Chui hack) versus the “hub” city. Because it’s SO cheap and convenient to get oneself to Bangkok. Sorry for the side tangent, but I’ve long respected Jeb, and to bring Sam up had a weird taste in my mouth.

I don't want to come across as too harsh but I'd be very surprised if any of these more popular luxury vloggers actually follow that "pay for own flights for honest reviews" moto. It seems like a job where negative reviews would damage earning potential and it probably takes a fair amount of grifting/ networking to get access to interesting contenting opportunities that would draw views (inaugural takeoffs etc). The only one that maybe could be living this motto is Josh Cahill as he isn't afraid to get into trouble criticising airlines but even then I wouldn't bank on it entirely. I've seen a few of these channels even take potshots at Sam Chui for being a shill, which would be fair enough, yet he's appeared on most of these channels at some point.

Then you have channels, like Nonstopdan, where they seem to be happy enough to travel to and from anti-LGBT+ countries like Saudi Arabia. That seems morally a bit iffy to me. Or TrekTrendy doing an around the world trip in first class for no real purpose while we're being told to behave as sustainable as possible.

Hmm I do believe he does pay for his. He has been quite critical in some videos, nd had the odd tantrum. With how often he flies, and at such premiums he would earn the air miles and his views would give him the income. But I do wonder if his face is known so they make sure he gets good treatment.

His morals are very questionable. Unnecessary travel during the pandemic and then witching about things not being as normal, flying a private jet to Antarctica, ridiculous unnecessary carbon footprint.

Did you hear about the situation Josh Cahill got into with an airline after posting one of his exaggerated scathing reviews?

The airline shouldn't have released his passport, but these vloggers are making money at (sometimes) other people's and companies expense. There is an element of he had it coming.

And shoving cameras in staff members faces is never OK. In any situation

His behaviour is regularly entitled and dramatic for views. It's a bit of karma.

That blog has a great name, but the tone of the article has put me off reading them again lol

While I do believe he is paying for his own trips now, I do question how he was flying first and business so much in the early days of the channel.

I think he earns his own money now and judging by how many views he gets, he is on to a winner. I'm sure he is a posh school boy that has led a privileged child hood paid for by Daddy

Genuine question, why’s he obsessed with those stupid ‘tims’ boots as he calls them and that NASA hoodie he normally wears

I think now he does it for engagement as his 'thing' , like an in joke. But I think it cheapens his videos

Ahh I see, thank you. He’s just not very funny, I agree with you. I’ve just watched his most recent vlog and I find him kinda bland and annoying

I used to watch all his videos, but the more he does these things to make him seem quirky (nasa, timbs, abbreviations) the more annoying he became and I stopped watching.

Plus he has quite a patronising manner, his smile/smirk and the way he says 'my lovely mum, my lovely dad' etc just comes across as insincere. No one says that I'm real life.
