Used to really enjoy watching these guys, as a seasoned gig goer myself, it was always interesting to see some of the festivals and far flung events I'd never been to. However, I've found them really cringy and hard to watch of late. I'm no prude, and can still have it with the best of them. Yet these guys are now in their 30's and still trying to binge drink and act like they're in their late teens/early twenties. Now I don't expect the pipe and slippers to come out, but you do learn to moderate yourself a bit a least. I think their content is suffering as a result too, its all become a bit repetitive.
Rock up at a festival/event, get smashed, eat kebabs/pizza, throw up, loose Mary, Choccy thinking he's American, it's all become a bit tedious now.
When you think there's people their age that now have families, hold down careers, and are still able to do what they do without looking like complete imbeciles. It just makes it all look even more tragic, they should go back to basics and focus on the gigs/events more. Instead of seeing how quick they can get mullered, left the binge drinking in my mid 20's.

Did anyone else catch when Rob said that the only thing that would make it better was if they didn't have to film it? YIKES!

To be fair.. you aren’t meant to film there so it must have been annoying having to ask permission of the people around you all the time, or be careful about who’s in shot, instead of just filming naturally. I wonder if the organisers will have anything to say about it?!

Following on from my Jake question.. Rob replied to someone’s comment on the vid saying Jake got ‘stuck under the thumb’ on the way to the airport Surely Jake’s gf can’t be mad at him for going to a bucket list festival when she knew full well when she met him that his job was festivals and it’s the last big one of the year

They clearly have connections so I don’t understand why they aren’t laying off the drink for parts of the festival and getting themselves backstage for interviews with artists, talking to organisers behind the scenes etc. like showing us more of the festival that we couldn’t see than just the beer tent and standing in front of the stage. Like I already know I can get a pint and sing along to a song!

Jake is too over the top. He acts like a daytime TV show presenter. Too animated and its inauthentic. Rob also seems like a twat who needs to give up on the headbands. He dresses like he's desperate to be part of 2006 artic monkeys.

The videos are better with more of them and less choccy but it wasn't a great video. Mary needs to seriously ease up on drinking, she's a mess and you could tell when she was ranting about abortion she was pissing Matty Briody off. I think he's outgrown most of them.

I agree, I skipped over Mary’s drunk rants. Love MB but he does seem to have drifted apart from the gang. I do rewatch their Europe/ US road trips when it was just Rob, MB, Raz and Danny. Less try hard and more just a group of friends having a laugh.

Feels like at this point their target audience is mentally out growing them. I want to get more out of a festival or trip away than just getting shitfaced and eating fast food. So why would I watch vlogs where they do that every week?

Rob is just phoning it in. He is tired, he's bored. Choccy is usually my least favourite but this time he was genuinely happy amd knew loads about the music and was having a great time. They're useless when they are bored and going thru the motions. I can't see it going on at the rate they've been going. Burn out and boredom will kill TPD TV if the shitty fried food doesn't get them first.

is just infantile now , they are in their 30’s now , surely their audience isn't the teenagers going to festivals and getting completely wasted anymore ?

The others all seem to have other careers and something to fall back on , Rob maybe needs to think of the end game

Yeah we’ve stopped watching the videos to be honest. It’s just got a bit tired as a format and you can tell they don’t put as much effort into the videos as they used to. Smaller groups, bickering etc. Not fun to watch!

sounds a bit evil but I prefer the vlogs where the festivals look like a struggle like rainy Kendall calling, Rock in Rio with the medic tent etc. alsoooo a distinct lack of weird set up ‘scenes’ in this one so yeh decent

Scratch that- this weeks pod was full of Rob bragging he can only enjoy himself when he’s ‘creating’, openly admitting he only enjoys himself if he’s filming or being filmed like it’s a good thing? Him and Raz both came across so cocky, feels like they’ve got the attitude of ‘doesn’t matter where we go or what we do we know how to make a video that makes money so it doesn’t matter’ is that really how the channel started? Was it not mates recording their memories? Or is that just what he says to pull on the patreon supporters heart strings?

Yeh that’s an odd reply? As he’s been with his gf a while now like she’d be understanding of how often he’s away. Anything Rob says I take with a pinch of salt though. I assumed jake bailed partly cos of the water/shower situation there.

burning man looks exactly how I imagined it. There’s so much they wouldn’t be allowed to film and loads of background stuff was pixilated. To me it looks like a load of pretentious bollocks choc seemed to hate it.

Im still waiting for the ball to drop for Rob that a lot of people were watching to see a group of mates having a good time- not to see their opinions of festivals/events they obviously don’t enjoy but are too scared to say that they didn’t enjoy it for fear of upsetting anyone.
It was really nice to see Choccy enjoying himself though.

Jake just can't seem to act natural in front of the camera. He's got worse as time has gone on, his tone of voice is very forced.

The vid was okay but the lineup of the festival wasn't great. Also some acts seemed to have really good sound and then others sounded terrible. No Doubt sounded pretty shoddy, not sure if them was them or the system setup.

I always think jake acts like he's a presenter on the travel channel or like a place in the sun or something. He needs to tone it down.
