Some people say (of course) that she and Tom are in it for PR.
That's laughable to say the least! Wouldn't it have to be a lot of photos, outings and all that jazz for them to 'profit' from one another? Geez Louise! I think that people cannot believe that someone famous can be in a healthy relationship without it being 'for show' at one point or the other

She used to be with Prosper (Luke Windsor’s firm), but recently left. I don’t know who her PR is now. Maybe she didn’t like the idea of sharing a firm with Tom. Some people say (of course) that she and Tom are in it for PR. Which makes zero sense since we never see them and loads of people don’t even know they are together. But the PR “experts” think everything is PR.
Why did she change companies I wonder?

Who knows? Maybe she didn’t like the job they were doing? Maybe she just thought sharing one with Tom might be a problem?Maybe she wants to give her business to a different agency ( maybe a WOC?). Since I don’t know if who her new PR firm is, I can only guess. She was with Prosper before she started going out with Tom. But not for a really long time. Just a few years.

She is now being represented by 42 Management & Production and MN2S for international gigs

I would hope so, but you wonder if there's a market for it who's using it? As I said not implying she does. That was only one company I came across I'm sure there are countless others. It's one of those ones you'd love to be a fly on the wall to find out who does use them
A lot of casting directors and studios apparently ask actors how many social media followers they have as part of the casting, which is stupid imo and many good actors dont have social media, but I suppose if studios are casting on the basis of social media followers instead of purely auditions then you cant really blame people if it's a choice between job or no job.

I don't think it's stupid if you look at it from the business perspective. The more followers you have, the higher the engagement and the potential paying viewers you will get funnel to your project through them.
This has been done since for ever. Other measurement methodologies were used before social media but it's not uncommon nor new

I know what you mean, but it just seems very short sighted. As we've seen, some people pay for followers, some people have followers for reasons other than their own fandom, and maybe they are missing out on decent actors because they dont engage in social media. I look at some tv and film and think casting directors have been lazy to the point of ruining a film because they have cast people who look so ridiculously similar that it's hard to follow the plot. Maybe they are missing out on quality because they are being so blinkered.

Oh no, I totally agree that some very good actors get overlooked because they may not be as main stream as others. But I also believe that they take into account the numbers before making a final decision. It's true that in this day an age anyone can buy followers and it's not necessarily a good way to measure someone's relevance with the audience but it is what it is.
Going back to the point I made earlier, even if Khloe K bought followers at one point her engagement is still high and brands can and will profit of off it.
Buying followers when you first start can look good on paper until you land a part where your audience will have room to grow organically

Yes there's some great TV actors that haven't made it into big films which I think would be perfect or because a director wouldn't take a chance (or is it down to number of followers??)

The sad part is that, even if the director is deeply rooting for you for a role, sometimes production studios, say Warner Brothers, Universal or Paramount, to name a few, have actors under years contract so, they are easier to hand pick from one project to the other without having to go through the casting process.
Although is possible to cast someone fresh and new, usually what happens is that you get shoved and push to select one from their roster.
That's why once you are in, you are in until a scandal arises.

I wonder what Tom's next non-MCU project will be?

Posted in another group I'm in.... thought you all might appreciate

Zawe seems to be postingback on Twitter after being quiet for months. Hopefully people will play nice there.

That's interesting. I have no links to the entertainment industry at all and no interest in being in it, but am fascinated by how it all works!

I major in Photography with minors in Filmmaking, Costume Design and Scenography. As part of our last year in college, we were given internships in either production companies, TV Stations or Film Studios. I had the pleasure to work, live and breathe my passion for a full year and you get the hang of it, how it works, the ins and outs. That's where I get my first hand knowledge.
Unfortunately this industry and, specifically in my country, works if you have connections which I had none. Having a great GPA doesn't mean nothing if you are never given a shot.
I do somethings here and there but just because my cousin has a small advertising company. It kills me to say this but I was never allowed a chance because I wasn't the Daughter Of, The sister of, etc

That is sad. I've heard it's the case, nepotism is rife. All the left wing social justice warrioring they do in the entertainment industry, yet when push comes to shove, you get places if your father/mother/uncle got there first or if you went to the right school, or you have to be extremely lucky and talented to get past it if not. Its shameful, but hopefully changing by having a light shone on it.

That's how the cookie crumbles!
And to top that, HERE you have to work in at least 3 Feature Films or a Daily TV Show for a year or 6 medium-length films in order to be able to enroll in the Film Union and get paid. BONKERS! So, basically you were an intern with no pay for, hopefully, just a year.
If you add to that the fact that I found my passion well in my 20s, I couldn't afford not be paid nor my parents were in a position to support me while I pursue my dream.
This is the story of a girl, who cried a river and drowned the whole world

The intern thing is ridiculous too. Like who, apart from someone bankrolled by rich parents can intern for at least a year?? Hope you are now doing something you enjoy. Its hardly as if those rules have led to higher quality. Usually the big studios are just followers and have to be dragged kicking and screaming to doing anything new. They had to be shamed into doing anything about sexual predators they enabled for decades and even into including Black and Asian non stereotype characters into their awards panels and movies. I know it costs a lot of money to make movies and they want to recoup it, but they need to invest in new talent and ideas before they die a death.

I changed career paths! Although I'm involved in some minor productions here and there, found a new love for the stage and writing, it's all done because it makes my soul happy not because I want to profit off of it which is a nice balance. Doing what you love, somehow, without worrying about making ends meat is priceless

I do see your point and the lack of visibility and typecasting that some people may face, not only in the film industry. I'm happy to say that we have gotten better at it over here. To be honest, the Black community is not as big as it is in the US, for example, they do have representation in our shows, films, etc. Same as the LGBTQIA community, we rank #5 in the most LGBT-friendly countries in the world and #2 in the American continent, only surpassed by Canada.

Yes, she does and my first thought was that she has permission again ( sorry, please don't be angry). It seems a little liberating to me

I saw a few things including something about a missing woman in the Hounslow area (who was thankfully found)

Yes it stood out to me too as it was more than one thing. I saw a tweet to someone asking them to contact her but can't see it now.
Who do you think said she could (interested, not angry or looking to start an argument, just asking out of curiosity) start posting again?
