I hate the new trend of getting men to advertise make up and womens clothing, and even underwear.
Why can’t we have fucking anything for ourselves?

Apparently TD is the new international face of Rimmel 🙄
He completely gets on my genuine female tits - I am sick of hearing that he thinks trans identifying men should be permitted to compete with women. He is neither TIM nor a woman - so why do we need to hear his opinion🤷‍♀️

He knew what a woman was when he wanted a surrogate to bear his child - does he have a short memory?

Am I the only one who can't stand this irritating attention seeking guy?

I know I should be supportive of him after his dad dying, his coming out and his Olympic success (although he seems to overshadow technically more successful olympians), but the whole smug media whore attitude is really off putting. Plus his relationship just gives me creepy predator vibes

Tom is still being quoted about the unfairness of men not being allowed to take part in women’s elite athletics in the light of the announcement yesterday,
then next time he and Dustin want to buy a baby they’re welcome to try a transwoman and see how successful that is.

I say this all the time! He drives me mad with his total misogyny. Why didn't he ask one of his transwomen friends to have his bought baby? Oh is it cos biology actually matters? Pisses me right off, he doesn't care that women will be shafted in sports as it doesn't effect him.

Yes, plus she is also the only grandparent they have (Tom's Dad died in May 2011, Lance's Mum died in January 2012 and his Dad walked out on them when he was a small child). I agree that Tom should have mentioned her given how much she takes care of the boys, even going to Tom's training camp in Turkey to take care of Robbie whilst he trained as Lance was going to be away across the pond at the same time. Plus during the Tokyo Olympics she was there in Calgary looking after him whilst Lance was directing something. Tom joined them after his event had finished and proceeded to bugger off during the day to record his audio book!

Fucking sickening when people buy children and then can't even be arsed to look after them themselves.

My assumption was that the doctor knew, but they didn't. That's the only way what they said makes sense.

And this forum hates surrogacy with a passion, so I'm not surprised at the comments.
It’s not about hating ‘surrogacy’ it’s about people commodifying a basic thing like having a child. It’s a feminist issue, that if we look down on sex worker which is effectively buying a woman’s body to use, then why are we saying it’s ok to put a woman’s body through child birth for someone’s else’s gratification.it’s technically the same thing. Buying a woman’s body to use. And that’s what I hate, because more often than not, the pregnant woman just becomes a vessel to use.
I mean, infertility is one thing, but people who use surrogacy often say (or men do) it’s our baby, we want our baby to be like x,y and z. No one who concieves naturally gets this choice, no one who goes through ivf gets to choice with the nhs, so it’s about designing a perfect baby. And then when does it become about designing life and not just having a child?

Is Tom on the Class As?

As for the surrogacy, it doesn’t sit right with me ethically, it’s humans for sale. I saw a video of a gay couple with their new baby floating around on Twitter, describing how they chose their surrogate from a pool of potential women and reeled off a fucking shopping list of characteristics. It’s borderline eugenics determined by wealthy narcs.

I've posted this on another thread but I lived in Plymouth and am/was friends with people who know Tom and went to school with him. He's annoyed a lot of people and is well-known as a liar.

He used to sit right by the entrance at Oceana so people would see him (rather than the VIP section). He also used to frequent a club called Zeros a lot and lapped up the attention. Played the 'I'm Tom Daley' card a lot.

Finally, he upset an awful lot of people with his claims of being so viciously bullied he had to change schools. I have friends who were in his year who say it was quite the opposite and he was well liked and 'Eggy' (Eggbuckland School) students were really proud of him. He was offered a scholarship to Plymouth College and left abruptly; the first anyone knew about 'his struggle' was in the press.

Just a massive bellend really.

Birth is a dangerous business - the potential for birth injuries, haemorrhaging and the very real risk of postnatal depression for a woman which may well be exacerbated by the separation of the baby.

I see men are now co-opting 'postnatal depression' 🙄 when they actually mean depression/difficult adjustment to parenthood following the birth of a baby that they haven't spent 9 months gestating.

Women choosing to be surrogates for financial and/or altruistic reasons have no real idea how it's going to turn out even with the best intentions.

Not to mention miscarriage, stillbirth, babies born with disabilities, multiple births (the effect on the pregnant woman). Surrogacy contracts are supposed to cover all this but there have still been high profile cases where the parents have rejected their child/ren. Do surrogates get paid more for a difficult/high risk pregnancy and birth? What if the worst happens and there's no baby at the end, or a baby the parents are dissatisfied with?

There's also the lack of ongoing maternal bonding for the baby which is based on hormones and neurological imprinting/bonding (regardless of the baby breastfeeding or not).

I have a lot of sympathy regarding infertility but people seem to believe they're absolutely entitled to become parents by any means. We're fortunate to have medical interventions in this day and age and the ability to adopt. I appreciate the success rate is often low depending on the type and circumstances and adoption isn't an easy path either.

I don't doubt many gay men make excellent parents however they don't have compatible 'equipment' to create a baby 🤷‍♀️ Is it considered homophobic to state that? At some point you have to accept you can't have everything in life (this applies to a great many things) and be satisfied with your lot. You can be a wonderful aunt or uncle, a volunteer or mentor in a child's life or pursue fostering or adoption.

Instead we have men (and straight couples) feeling utterly entitled to the use of a woman's body.

Commercial surrogacy is a disturbing thing. I loved tan france, but he is another to go down that route, and it really does put me about. Not because it’s two men or whatever, but because it’s so transactional. It’s not creating life, it feels like buying a new car almost, or a custom suit. and the egg donor and carrier who are female get ignored in all this. It’s all ‘our baby’ when all they had to do was have a wank.
It’s not about genetics being passed on for me, despite what they say, because gay men stll need an egg. It’s about perfect. Which even straight couples who concieve normally don’t have control over.
but perfect is also why so many chose not to adopt, there’s not many children that can be guaranteed perfect when so little is often known about a child’s experience. Not only that, but if they adopted in many countries, the assessments are stringent and leaked stories in the press don’t help pass those……. And you can’t exactly go flaunting an adopted child for freebies. Well, you can, but who wants a birth parent turning up at the pride of Britain awards saying you’ve stolen their kid? Doesn’t do the image any good 🤷🏻‍♀️
then again, I’ve no doubt Tom and Dustin’s kid will be shoved out being a nepo kid at some stage and maybe it’s better for it to have their genes then no other poor sod can be blamed if they turn out like Brooklyn beckham.
You’ve worded it more eloquently than me. I don’t have an issue with gay men raising children just that surrogacy is often pushed as LGBT issue when it’s actually a women’s rights issue.

What annoys me is it instantly goes feminine for men and make up. Not all gay guys are feminine, not all straight guys are masculine. If you're going to go the route of make up for men, be more diverse in who represents your brand.

Pisses me off how the media/society seem to think there is only one way of being gay

Gender is made up nonsense, there are two sexes, and sex is binary and immutable.
Tom thinks that men should be able to compete in women's sports, because Tom is a misogynistic knitting wanker, who rents women's wombs.

If Tom thinks trans women are women then why didn't he use one as a surrogate?

This is it. Gender is an emotive topic these days but I think (jmo) let the kid be born and and mature.

Yeah his make up ad popped up on tv the other day

He is part of the soho House type crowd. Seen him hang around with nicky kelvin from point guy uk. Very superficial attention seeking crowd
I used to think he was ok and was pleased to see he was out and proud, he was a breath of fresh air. But he has turned out to be a complete media whore.

There is a part of me that feels sorry for him. He has never had a chance to explore who he is. He was a professional athlete from a young age through to early 20s, his dad died when he was very young, he has had to struggle with his sexuality at the same time as receiving alot of attention and then married and had kids all by his mid 20s.

He hasn't had time to breath . I do wonder if it will catch up with him at some point

Mumsnet always make the point that surrogacy is basically people trafficking. After all, you never hear of a rich woman being a surrogate, do you? Always the bodies of poor women being exploited.

He’s wilfully thick about women.
did a great documentary about LGB issues which was well received. Then speaks about men in womens sports and says there hasn’t been enough research yet As to ether it’s fair or not.
Too spineless to say the obvious unlike other sportsmen who have spoken out and supported women.
he knew what a woman was when he wanted a child.

The vast majority of comments on this thread have got nothing to do with ‘trans’, 5 comments out of almost 100 is trivial.
Enjoy your little moment of self righteousness though.
