Today I learned that ice cream van drivers are only allowed to play their jingle for 12 seconds....and only when they are stationary.

Must be different for where I am, they only play it when they are moving, they don't play it when stationary

A topical one for this morning. I only learned recently that the woman in Meat Loaf's "I'd Do Anything for Love..." video is not the one actually singing it on the record.

The video lady totally embodies the role. She had me fooled for almost 30 years 😂

I was just talking about that vocalist, in the Flop acts from the 90s/00s thread on here the other day, as she has never made it on her own , despite trying.

I watched a programme about Iceland on Channel Five this evening - and found out that country has a museum of penises. 🍆
Haha this is true I've been there! The largest pen on display was a whale pen and as you might imagine it was pretty huge lol. You can also submit a mold or a photo of your own pen if you want and they'll display it. I chose not to do so haha :ROFLMAO:

Similar one, apparently adults cats don't really meow at each other. Kittens meow at their mum but adult cats only meow at people 🤣

I think my cats do this too. They mumble to themselves and then scream at me 🤷🏻‍♀️

I learned that milk cartons (the tall slim ones, with a round button opening) are supposed to be poured the other way round, so that the button is not nearest and lowest to a cup or bowl, but above it :oops:

This stops the splashing and gushing and it pours more calmly. :)

(great thread, enjoying so many answers here) x

TIL that you can use both learned and learnt and neither is wrong. I googled it because learned doesn’t sound right to me - reached doesn’t sound right to me either I think because past tense of teach is taught so why isn’t reached raught… now I’ve written it it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. In my job I pick apart the English language so finely that sometimes my brain explodes with it 😵💫
