When you see a product saying 'genuine leather' it's not stating that it's real. Genuine is the quality level (and is actually one of the lowest quality levels).

Just an update on this in case anyone ever needs it. This does not apply to rear seat headrests in a VW as I found out today at the dealership, the whole back seat has to come apart to remove the headrest to fix it.Whilst I knew they pulled out I never considered the pointed ends could be used for that!
